Today's new launch is Charlotte Tilbury Darling eye palette, apparently the palette Charlotte Tilbury herself uses and definitely a multi-tasker, let's discuss.

The Best Fitness Classes in London (and Leeds)

Gym kit online here / Ad affiliate
It’s no secret that I love working out, and as much as I love going to the gym and motivating myself, I really don’t think you can beat a fitness class. There’s something about fitness classes that motivates me so much and honestly makes me feel like I’ve never pushed so hard. I turn up, don’t even think about what I’m doing, let someone else guide me and within 45mins to 1 hour, I’m done and I can get on with my day as someone is doing the thinking and the planning for me. I just have to get myself there and then move. You know what they say, you never regret a workout. Today I wanted to write about my favourite gym classes in London (and some in Yorkshire for good measure, because I split my time between the two), there are SO many fitness classes in London I am yet to try but these are my top fitness classes in London so far.

The Best Places For Breakfast And Brunch In New York - NYC Top Brunch Spots

cha cha matcha nyc

Photos edited using Ems Presets / dress here / sunglasses here (gifted items + ad affiliate links)

I’m sure you guys will know by now that I am absolutely, utterly obsessed with visiting New York. One thing I ensure I do when I travel is hunt down the best food and restaurants, whether they’re popular must eat at chains, hidden gems, local independents or top recommendations. I do a lot of research when visiting new places. I’ve now been to NYC maybe 10 times so I really do feel as if I know it well but every time there are new restaurants on my visit list. Someone told me even if you ate out in New York 3x per day for 10 years you still wouldn’t be able to try all the restaurants, that is crazy. I wrote my huge New York city travel guide a while back (then did my guide to the best pizza in New York) and have been updating them after each trip since but today I wanted to do a separate post about my favourite and top brunch and breakfast spots in New York because let’s be honest, it’s worth getting up for breakfast in New York and I take my food very seriously so you can trust this guide.

University Regrets - How To Get The Most Out Of University

university of Leeds graduation

Whether you’re starting University, going back to University or like me, you’re done with University *sob* (low key thought about applying to do a masters in New York recently purely so I can move there but that’s another story for another day HA). I’ve done a few of these University posts over the years including the motivation for deadlines/essays at University, how to get the most out of University and my most recent, everything about the University experience and even a video called the things they don’t tell you about University but hopefully this reflective post about my time at University, after graduating will help you get the most out of your time at University or maybe it’ll just bring back memories of your time there. I feel like every time Facebook gives me Timehop reminders of my time at Uni I come up with more regrets or happy memories of University so hopefully this blog post will help you. This year for the first time ever I genuinely feel emotional about it all being over.

Quick And Easy Egg, Banana + Baking Soda Pancake recipe

Egg, Banana + Baking Soda Pancake recipe
Photos edited using Ems Presets photo filters - ad affiliate links used

I saw the recipe for egg, banana and baking soda pancakes on Instagram and knew immediately I needed to make this recipe work for me. I consider myself fully influenced haha and I love anything tasty, healthy but easy too. I hate faffing and weighing things out and prefer to quickly throw things in and then eat. I love sharing my healthy recipes (my healthy banana bread recipe is the latest) and I know you guys love my original healthy easy vegan pancake recipe but thought today I’d blog the perfected egg, banana and baking soda pancake recipe. Apologies this pancake recipe isn’t vegan as it uses eggs but it’s a quick and easy pancake recipe and once you’ve got the knack it’s super tasty. I'm also aware it isn't the prettiest BUT they taste nice.

Elizabeth Arden Vitamin C Ceramide Capsules Review - Why Do We Need Vitamin C In Skincare?

Elizabeth Arden Vitamin C Ceramide Capsules
Buy the Vitamin C Capsules online here and here / photos edited using Em's Presets for Lightroom - ad affiliate links used

Gifted press sample featured -
Vitamin C in skincare has been discussed a lot over the last few years, with people wondering what the benefits of vitamin C in skincare actually are and wondering if you need to add vitamin C to your skincare routine and if you do, how should you add vitamin C into your skincare routine? The first vitamin C skincare product I used was by Kiehl's (the Kiehl's Vitamin C powerful strength line reducing concentrate) and to be honest, I didn't really understand what vitamin C was or why I was putting it on my face. I then started using a gentle, day cream, with a lower % of vitamin C by Beautypie (the Superdose Vitamin C Oxygen Boosting Moisturiser) which actually really gets on with my skin. That's as far as my vitamin C trials have gone, so you could say I have dipped my toes into the water. I heard a skincare expert say that at my age (teens and twenties) I should be wearing Vitamin C every single day and also take that into my 30's (as well as SPF but that's another blog post topic) so since then, I've made it my mission to get vitamin C onto my face and add it into my skincare routine. On todays blog post I'm going to be discussing the brand new Elizabeth Arden Vitamin C Ceramide Capsules which may just take my Vitamin C skincare to the next level and I guess look into the benefits of using Vitamin C in your skincare routine. Get comfy, it's time for a review of Elizabeth Arden's Vitamin C Capsules.

Best Body Oils For Glowing, Soft Summer Skin

summer body oils

If you've watched any of my travel vlogs whilst abroad or if you watched my recent packing video you'll probably know that I adore body oils. Nothing feels more 'Summer' to me than getting out of the shower after a day in the sunshine and drenching my body in body oil. I love dry body oils as they make my skin so glowy and soft for hours afterwards, without being sticky but I also find they massively enhance my tan too, whether it's a natural tan or a fake tan. Here are a few of the best dry body oils for soft, Summer, glowing skin.

The Best Blow Dries In London - Where To Get The Best Blow Dry In London

candy floss pink hair
Hair on the photo above was done using L'Oreal Professionnel colour and products (gifted)

Gifted PR items featured and Ad affiliate links used - I'm a blow dry addict and anyone who knows me knows that. As much as I can do my own hair pretty well now (hello ghd hair, how did I ever cope without you?!) no-one does it like the pros and often I'm either shooting content, videos or have events to go to so I need fresh hair, done by the professionals because let's be honest, who doesn't love having their hair done? I've got my little black book of best places for a blow dry in London and I relish in booking myself in and walking out like a new woman. I have absolutely no shame in saying I've had three per week before. I feel like in my life I've tried a lot of blow dries so thought it was about time I shared the best blow dries in London. No matter where abouts you are based in London, I'm hoping my guide will have somewhere close enough for you. For my Yorkshire readers, there's only really one place I'll ever go for my blow dries in Leeds (Sassoon Salon Leeds) but in London it tends to depend which area of London I'm in. I live between Yorkshire and London so it's either Sassoon or one of the below in London. Here are the top places for a blow dry in London that have made the cut and I'd trust with blow drying my hair!

Easy Healthy Banana Bread Recipe

healthy banana bread recipe

My last easy healthy banana bread recipe is years old and one so many people have sent me pictures of (and enjoyed eating, hooray) but I've been working on a new recipe for banana bread and I have to say, this one is a lot more 'bread like' so I hope you're going to like it. This banana bread recipe isn't vegan, unlike my older banana bread recipe but there's something to hopefully suit everything with both recipes. We all crave banana bread but usually they add SO much sugar so hopefully you'll find this banana bread recipe a touch healthier plus super easy to bake. I whipped this up today and it literally took me 5 minutes and within 20 I was sat down eating it. I’ve been trying to perfect my banana bread recipe for a long time, and finally I think I’m getting there. If you follow me on Instagram you probably saw my new banana bread loaf and I think this might be my best healthier banana bread yet. If you're in the mood for cookies though, make sure you check out my healthier chocolate chip cookie recipe. Open up for the healthier easy banana bread recipe.

Instagram Removing Likes From Images

la oliva ibiza

My Instagram @emshelx / feed edited using Ems Presets Instagram filters /

Hey guys, hope you’re all so well. Todays blog post is a hot topic right now and honestly, I started writing this blog post months ago when Instagram first announced they may be removing likes from platform. I didn’t for a second believe that Instagram would ever actually remove likes from their platform which is why I never actually went ahead with writing the blog post. Here we are today, with many countries likes now being hidden on Instagram, so yep, it does appear Instagram are removing likes. Today I want to break this down and talk about my thoughts about Instagram removing likes from photos...

What Is A Menstrual Cup? Intimina Lily Cup Menstrual Cup Review

Advertorial paid post - I’ll never forget the day I first got my period, I sobbed uncontrollably in my bathroom as my Mum was out at work and we had a childminder round, I was way too scared to tell her what had happened even though it’s very normal. I then remember teaching a friend how to use tampons when she got her period as obviously you need someone to help you out with these things… periods are a part of life, they’re Mother Nature and actually, I wish there was someone back then to tell me that they’re normal, healthy and I don’t have anything to be scared about. I started with pads then moved onto tampons and even writing this, it feels like some people will think this is a taboo but it’s not, it’s something females go through and it is completely normal. I actually tweeted a while back about being scared of toxic shock syndrome (I’ve been wearing tampons for years with no problems) and whilst I know it is rare, I was recommended a menstrual cup. I was always a little scared, particularly from a hygiene point of view but today I wanted to write a full review of INTIMINA, the brand behind innovative menstrual cups (perfect for first time cup wearers) if you’re thinking of trying one. I personally still do wear tampons some months, but if you are thinking of trying out a menstrual cup or just wondering what they are, I really hope this review of a menstrual cup will help you.

The Savoy London Hotel Review

the savoy London suite

Dress online here /

One of my favourite things in life is travel. I caught the travel bug at university and I've always been into hospitality. I've been fortunate enough to stay in some of the best hotels in the world over the last few years and I guess I've always appreciated little touches and good service when it comes to the hospitality industry. I find it fascinating. A while ago some of you may have seen that I was invited as a guest to attend an event at the Savoy Hotel in London for the Karen Tran Gala. I was absolutely overwhelmed by the experience at The Savoy and talked a lot about it to my family who decided that it would be the perfect place to arrange a family stay over to celebrate a 50th birthday that was imminent. I was delighted when my Mum decided to book it. I've now stayed at the Savoy 3x and thought this was the perfect time to write a review of one of the best hotels not just in London but in the world. Maybe you want to stay there for a special occasion or maybe you just want to dine at The Savoy, hopefully this will help you.

Hive Link Review - Helping Keep Loved Ones Safe And Secure

crab and lobster thirsk

Paid Advertorial post - It’s taken me 25 years to figure out that life is a mixture of happiness and sadness in equal measures and one thing that can bring both with it is old age. I’ve always loved elderly people, they have so many experiences to share and are usually tough characters because of all they have lived through and yet they look so cute and serene. I always say it’s important to sit and listen to their stories because you can learn so much (only yesterday I got talking to a 74 year old taxi driver who was widowed at 31 and left to bring up 3 children alone, people have just been through so much). One of my happiest memories when growing up is spending lots of time with my grandparents. It made me so happy and I still love to see them as much as I possibly can now that I’m older. In fact, I feel guilty if I don’t see them enough. By nature I’m a really happy bubbly person but one thing that makes me sad is to see my grandparents getting older and inevitably suffering with different illnesses and generally needing more help from those around them. The sadness of seeing my grandparents get old though is paralleled with equal amounts of happiness - they are funny and make me laugh a lot and I am very thankful that they have made it to such a grand old age because I know many other people who have lost grandparents when they were young (I actually only ever got to meet one set of Grandparents but I know many people never got to meet any). So yes, old age is a real mixture of sadness and happiness all rolled in to one.

Two Summer Dresses From Day To Night

Paid advertorial - I’ve been buying things from eBay for years, I’ve been there, done it and got the t-shirt. With many of my purchases on eBay though I find myself saying to people ‘no it’s from an eBay shop’ and they’re like WHAT?! You don’t have to bid on everything to win on eBay? Nope, nope you don’t meaning these pieces aren’t always one offs and we can all get our hands on them. If you've watched any of my hauls on YouTube you'll know that I'm all about clothes that you can take from day to night, or generally versatile outfits. I’m so excited today to show you two beautiful summer day dresses from eBay  that you can dress up or down, wear them the beach or to dinner or even wear to the office. Put it this way, it was hard not to fill my basket right to the brim when I headed over to the brand outlet page over on eBay. Let’s see what I picked up.

5 Ways To Ease Stress + Diprobase Product Review

Diprobase cream

Paid Advertorial - I’m definitely guilty of getting myself into a bit of a tizz, which sometimes leads to me feeling a *little* frazzled and stressed. As I get older and more experienced, I’m learning to recognise my trigger points and I’m definitely making improvements (every day is a learning curve!). I try different strategies to prevent getting too stressed and sometimes these work, sometimes they don’t. Getting stressed for me not only impacts my mind but also a host of other things - my stomach gets bloated and painful and also, it’s no coincidence that when I’m feeling stressed my skin is impacted. As we all know, too much stress is not good for us and is reported to make many issues worse, one being dry skin. My mum suffers from really bad eczema and always says it flares up when she’s stressed. Another thing that impacts my skin is the good old British weather and I find that makes mine worse. As the weather changes (one minute we’re in summer , the next we’re back to winter), I find my skin gets stressed too. One thing I don’t have to stress about anymore? Stressed skin. Today I want to talk about some wonderful products I’ve found that are working wonders on my skin. I’m also going to throw in a few little stress busting tips too because I may as well share what’s helping keep me de-stressed!

10 Of The Best Fake Tans / Self Tanners In 2019

the best fake tans
Gifted PR items featured and Ad affiliate links used - I feel as if it’s time I write an updated best fake tans blog post. One of the questions I always get asked is what fake tan I use. Just like with hair care and skincare, I don’t use just one brand religiously. I easily could be loyal and stick to one brand forever, but there are so many incredible fake tans and self tanners out there, I like to mix and match. I’ve been using fake tan since I came out of the womb, no seriously, I’ve been using it for years and have honestly used the majority of the big names on the market and feel as if I have a good insight into which the best self tanners are. Yes I’ve looked like an oompah lumped/tangerine many times but hey, we’ve all been there. Here’s a list of the best self tanners and fake tans to buy in 2019.

12 Best Designer Dupes On The High Street In 2019

gucci marmont bag velvet

I've been wanting to write a designer dupes post for quite some time now but as someone who loves designer (but also loves high street), I always felt like there's something a little *wrong* with people copying designer. On the flip side, I get it, maybe you don't want to spend thousands on a designer handbag and that's okay but rather than point blank copying it and going for a fake designer bag (illegal!) a dupe is a good way to get the designer look for less if you like the style. Hopefully this blog post will help you out with lots of designer inspired items without the cost of designer or hey, maybe it'll inspire you to make that life-long designer purchase instead. I always find I lust over the designer item so much, find a dupe of it and then end up going for the designer one anyway haha. One of the things I've been requested the most on my YouTube channel is a designer dupes video so I thought it was the perfect time to do a blog post featuring 12 of the best designer dupes on the high street in 2019 to go alongside my video. Open up for the best high street designer dupes!

Social Media Influencers And Paid Ads - Disclosure, Sponsored Content

Shoes online here / dress online here / coat online here / photos by Marta Ferenc / sunglasses /Ad affiliate links

Today I want to talk about a topic that’s been on my mind for quite some time: the ‘not an ad’ discussion. I wrote a blog post years ago about influencers and sponsored content  so I guess this could be a little update on that post. For most of us, blogging started out as a hobby and we had no idea there was any type of reward let alone any financial reward from doing so. In fact when I wrote the post I refer to above, traditional jobs were still the norm and social media related jobs were only just becoming a thing. Now, people are running businesses from their homes, talking about things they are passionate about and making a living from it and I think that should be celebrated. Working hard to create content that people like and get some use out of and then being paid for it, seems to be a quite controversial matter for some reason but it is actually just a job like any other job that people get paid to do and I hope this honest chat will explain a bit more about the world of influencers, paid ADS, posts and more. Let’s discuss…

Easy, Healthy Carrot Cake Cookies Recipe

carrot cake cookies
Ad affiliate links - I don’t know about you but this time of year always inspires me to eat food that is good for me. As soon as the sun shines, I put down the Yorkshire puddings and bring out the Greek salads ha. The minute the weather starts to get better, I crave salads (with a side of carb, obv) over my usual Yorkshire puddings, put the Cheeselets down (reluctantly) and that desire for all the hot food seems to disappear (and trust me, I'm not a salad kinda girl). If you’ve been following me on Instagram you will have seen that since moving to London I’ve been trying hard to get myself in to a routine of baking healthy snacks that I can eat on the go, particularly for breakfast.  It just means I try to bulk bake on a Sunday and have something good to grab for the week ahead when I need a snack. I've also been trying to up my fibre intake so I'm trying to eat more oats and fruit/veggies when I can. I actually wrote a blog post about several of my favourite breakfast recipes if you missed that. Today I wanted to share my easy healthy carrot cake cookie recipe with you.

12 Things I Didn’t Realise About Living In My Own Home!

leopard print midi skirt

Boots online here / skirt online here / bag online here / photos by Marta Ferenc - Ad affiliate links

Hello hello, I do hope you are all well. Whilst cleaning my washing machine the other day, it suddenly dawned on me just how much I’ve learnt since moving to my new place late last year and I thought it would make a great blog post to tell you all about it. I thought I’d write about 12 things I didn’t realise until I got my own ‘professional house’. The reason I say 'professional house’, is because I have lived away from home numerous times - when I was at University I lived away from home in different places (and countries) but this time it’s different as I'm not a student anymore and this will undoubtedly lead to me moving in to my own long term family home rather than returning to the home in which I spent my childhood. When I was a student I didn’t think about spending money on lovely cutlery etc, plus student flats aren’t something you spend your time designing or even tidying much because there are so many people living with you and so much going on. So, when I tell you what I’ve learnt in my ‘professional house’ I guess I really mean my non-student crib haha. So here you have it. Some other 'adulting' blog posts similar to this topic that you may enjoy too include how to save money, everything you need to know about renting or buying a house in London and how to set up a pension or why pensions are important!

DERMIKELP Beauty Review - Spring Hair & Body Care - Sustainable Beauty

Dress online here /

Paid advertorial - As a beauty lover, it’s always exciting for me when a new brand comes to the market and ticks all the boxes. In today's beauty spotlight is Dermikelp, a brand I’ve been watching with interest since I heard about it last year. Dermikelp is a new range of body and hair care made with nutrient-rich sea kelp. Before I use new products, I always try and understand a bit about their background. I fall in love with brands that little bit more once I start to understand their story and the background of their founders - it really makes a difference to me. Dermikelp was launched by Dr Nigel Christie, a marine biologist who, in the first instance, developed kelp products for agricultural use, and following its success turned his attention to exploring the potential of sea kelp to nourish skin.

I obviously have my hero, holy grail favourites which you’ll see on my vlogs and on the blog a lot if you’re long time readers/followers but today, I want to talk to you about some brand new skincare products I’ve been using this spring to make my skin glow. There are so many epic skincare products out there and I just love trying them all. I thought I’d do a little beauty round up of the current new skincare products I’m loving for a spring glow.

‘Gifted’ is a word that is popping up everywhere on social media recently and the subject is something I feel is worthy of its own blog post firstly to allay any confusion and to explain what ‘gifted’ really means. I love listening to what people have to say on different subjects, one of the most amazing things about the whole social media world is that everyone gets an opportunity to share their views and those views are often so varied and different which absolutely fascinates me. The perception I get from listening to a wide community of followers on the subject of things being ‘gifted’ is that when the word gifted is used then bloggers must be receiving everything for free. I’ll be honest, it’s for this reason I don’t personally like the word ‘gifted’ and the reasons for that will hopefully become clear throughout this post but in a nutshell, unlike a present given by a friend or family members, media ‘gifts’ usually require some work before deciding whether or not to talk about them.

Erborian CC Eye Cream Review - The Low Down On BB and CC Creams

Erborian CC Eye Cream Review
Gifted PR items featured and Ad affiliate links used - We're all busy and always on the go plus with my job I'm quite often in front of a camera for photo shoots so I’m always looking for ways to ensure I can make my skin look good without endless hours of effort. I'm also always looking for ways to hide my tiredness as I usually have quite puffy eyes. I'm definitely a quick-get-ready kinda gal and would rather have an extra ten minutes in bed.  One thing that has helped me tremendously over the years is the range of CC/BB creams on the market and I rarely wear make up without applying them first in the warmer months. I definitely feel as if I up my CC/BB game in Spring, as soon as the weather starts to get a little nicer I slather it on. In fact, on non-make up days I often use them to even out my skin tone and give me a healthy glow without popping any foundation over the top. Today I'm going to talk to you about an epic new CC eye cream, Erborian's CC Eye Cream, yep, I've used BB and CC face creams for years but never an eye cream version. Let's discuss.

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Midnight Eau de Parfum Review

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Midnight

Gifted press sample featured and Ad affiliate links used - It was a very exciting day when the postman arrived at my door with the brand new Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Midnight. All of this lovely early spring weather (finally, hello!) is getting me in the mood for beaches, holidays, eating outside and just generally enjoying the lighter evenings. Trips away always make me think about my favourite scents and if you're a long time Emtalks reader you'll know, one of my absolute all time favourite fragrances is the original Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf. There are a few scents I've grown up with, Juicy Couture being one of them, Marc Jacobs Daisy of course and Flowerbomb being another! It only felt right then to review the brand new Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Midnight fragrance today, a sensual take on an old favourite of mine but something that's quickly become a new favourite. Let's discuss.

Mothers Day Gift Ideas & What To Do On Mothers Day

Leeds uni graduation post

Ad affiliate links used - She carried me for 9 months, hers was the first face I saw when I came in to the world and the first hand I held to guide me through life and she’s provided my brother and I with the most solid relationship and the greatest love story on earth. I'm sure most of you are aware that my Mum is literally everything to me, we have the closest bond and I am so grateful to have such a powerful, strong, incredible Mumma. If I could choose family, I'd choose my Mum, brother and grandparents a million times over. I got really lucky with them. It’s Mother’s Day on Sunday 31st March and while we try and show Mumma Shel lots of love every day of the year, just like most Mums she is very worthy of this special day being dedicated to her each year so that we can go the extra mile. Of course, she’s a typical selfless Mama and doesn’t see it that way. Every year she says the same thing ‘don’t think you have to spend lots of money on me for Mother’s Day. I’ve got all I need with you two'... Well hard luck Mama because we’re gonna ignore you and spoil you anyway haha. Open up this blog post for lots of Mother's Day gift ideas and things you can do with your Mum or loved ones/Mother figure this Mother's Day. Whilst Mother's Day is called 'Mother's Day' traditionally, it goes without saying that you can do these things with anyone you love, I always spoil my Nanna on Mother's Day.

Best Brunch in London - Instagram Brunch Spots In London - Instagrammable London Restaurants

Dress online here - ad affiliate / photo by Marta Ferenc  - location - The Ivy Chelsea Garden

Something I shout about from the rooftops? My love for food. Em and brunch, it’s an endless love affair. I don’t really know when ‘brunch’ became a thing, but it’s food, so I’ll take it. I’ve always been a massive breakfast lover so I guess it’s only right that I love brunch too. Let's be honest, breakfast and brunch are basically the same thing, it just means those delicious breakfasty dishes are available for a longer period and I am so down for that. It’s fair to say there are some exceptional brunch places in London so today I thought I’d (finally) write up a blog post with my current favourite go to places for Instagrammable brunch in London. These places are definitely the most Instagrammable brunch places in London too, if that's your thing. Bear in mind, I don’t like places that are Instagrammable but don’t do good food, I’d much rather go somewhere ‘non insta worthy’ with genuinely good food so all of these places are both insta-worthy AND serve up epic brunch. If you could get a degree in brunch, I'd get a first class honours no doubt about it. I'm deliberately mentioning places I've visited many times on my London brunch guide so they definitely get my approval and aren't just one hit wonders. I take brunch very seriously. Don't forget to read my ultimate guide of the best places to eat in London.

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser Review

Fresh soy face cleanser review

Gifted press products featured and Ad affiliate links used (have rebought myself many times) - Hey everyone, today, a beauty review hooray! One of the really cool parts of my job is getting the opportunity to try different skin products and I will always share my thoughts with you when I come across something that I truly adore. I mix up my skincare a lot, who doesn't? Particularly in my job, I like to try as much new skincare as possible but, I've always got my holy grail favourites. For well over two years I’ve been grabbing my Fresh Soy Face Wash (my Mum has too) and I thought it was about time I told you all about it. I use other cleansers too (hello Elemis Cleansing Balm, Clinique Take Off The Day, Neutrogena Hydroboost - the list goes on, just a few of my faves over the last year) as I usually do a double cleanse and do mix up my cleansers depending on my skins needs/my effort levels in cleansing but I felt I needed to write a standalone review of Fresh Soy Cleanser today as it's one I always go back to.

healthy pancakes

Ad affiliate links used -Hello hello! I just love this time of year, the start of the year (although, how is it March already?!) thinking of new goals, new beginnings and finally the weather is getting a little bit nicer too.  I love the thought of spring being just around the corner and I’m particularly looking forward to it this year following my move to London late last year.  I adore nothing more than early mornings that are light and as I am doing lots of walking (to both save travel costs and to keep my fitness up) I literally can’t wait until it’s light at the crack of dawn! Talking about mornings, I’ve been brought up to believe that I should never, ever start the day on an empty stomach (which is really good because I always wake up starving!).  I know many of you find my recipe blog posts helpful so I thought I’d use this post to share three of my favourite breakfast recipes.  They’re healthy and nutritious and also really easy to pull together.  I’m not one for measuring and spending ages messing about so you will always find what I cook easy peasy. Let's go!

Everything You Need To Know About Pensions: How To Set Up A Pension, What Is A Pension? Do I Need A Pension?

heart sleeves jumper
Jumper online here Gifted PR items featured and Ad affiliate links used

When I first started writing my blog I did it for two main reasons: to help me enter the degree course I wanted to do and also as a hobby to satisfy my love of English, creativity and beauty. It could have gone either way (I didn't really know what a blog was when I started one) but I quickly found that blogging gave me great fulfilment and introduced me to so many lovely, like minded people and friends for life. I started off writing about my life then moved to beauty, fashion, fitness (and still do talk about these topics daily) but actually, over the years I quickly found I also like writing about important topics such as how to save money, everything you need to know about renting or buying a house in London and todays topic? How to set up a pension, what even is a pension and do you need a pension?! Today I want to talk about something they definitely didn't teach us in school but something I hopefully can help you with. Yep, I had no idea I even needed a pension... let's discuss.

What To Do On Valentines Day

valentines day gift ideas

Advertorial Post with Aviva, Gifted PR items featured and Ad affiliate links used  - Love it or hate it, Valentine's day is around the corner. For me, I’ve always loved the idea of Valentine's day, whether I’m single, taken or seeing someone. I think Valentine's day is first and foremost about showing yourself some love, so buy yourself some roses, eat some melted chocolate or run a nice candle lit bath, or, you can go and spend Valentine's day with your besties. It goes without saying that you should show your loved ones love all year round, but I do love the excuse to go all out on Valentine's day too.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Supermodel Lipsticks Review And Swatches

Charlotte Tilbury Supermodel Lipsticks Review
Gifted PR items featured and Ad affiliate links used  - If you read my latest review of Charlotte Tilbury's Cleanser, the Goddess Cleansing Ritual or my review of Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk you'll probably know I'm a huge Charlotte Tilbury fan and have organically been buying the brand since the get-go. Who doesn't love Charlotte Tilbury products? To me, it's a brand that gets me really giddy about one of my passions, beauty. Charlotte Tilbury popped into the beauty world with glitz, glam and sparkle and truly took it by storm. I've always loved how the Kardashian's do their make up (love them or hate them, they have flawless make up). I love anything bronzed and flawless goddess like and you could say Charlotte Tilbury is one of my favourite brands for creating exactly those looks (helloooo just look at the Charlotte Tilbury Bar Of Gold Highlighter) and tell me she hasn't nailed that brief. Charlotte Tilbury has launched some new Supermodel lipsticks so today, a review and swatches of the Charlotte Tilbury Supermodel Limited Edition new matte lipsticks.

My Diet and Fitness Over The Last Year

reebok gym leggings

It's the start of the year and that means everyone's talking about fitness, health and wellbeing. Love it or hate it, it happens every year. I approached my January/new year fitness a little bit different this year. In previous years, I've taken the whole of Christmas off and just eaten everything and refused to go to the gym (TOTALLY FINE BY THE WAY, FOOD IS LIFE and you know what, our bodies need rest after a busy year) but then I really struggle to 'get back on it' in January/Feb. I feel as if over the last year (2018) it's been so difficult to stick to a workout routine because I've been living out of hotels or between cities so actually, Christmas time for me this year was the only period where my life was in one place for a set amount of time and I lived for the routine so for once, just smashed out the gym during Christmas. I know to some that sounds absolutely crazy but honestly? I do it for my mind and driving to the gym with no phone, no work commitments, having a little bit of me time and breathing on Boxing Day, made me feel incredible. I feel as if 2018 was so stressful in so many ways and one of the only ways I can de-stress myself (apart from a long hot bath with a Jo Malone candle and all the chocolate) is hammering it out at the gym for 45 mins or stretching my legs and getting some fresh air. I go to the gym a total stressed mess and I leave feeling epic. Today I want to talk to you about my diet and fitness regime over the last year I get a lot of questions about my gym routine and diet so hopefully this may answer some.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser & Moisturiser Review

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser & Moisturiser ReviewAdvertisement with Neutrogena - It's no secret that I love pampering. I'm a massive believer in spending time, on you. Whether it's fresh air, a long hot bath, going to the gym or doing a face mask that makes you happy, this year, take pleasure in the little things and make more time to do them. In such a busy world, we often forget to put time aside for the things that make us feel good. For me, pampering is a year round thing, when it gets warm in summer I absolutely love taking extra care of my skin and body but equally, in winter, when the cold weather makes my skin unhappy, I also take pride in my beauty routine. For me, pampering makes me feel good about myself, it's a little spa session, to me, every morning and every night. I genuinely enjoy washing my face as it makes me feel so fresh. Today I wanted to talk to you about two products I find amazing from NEUTROGENA®. This blog post is a paid for advertorial with NEUTROGENA®.

It's that time of year where everyone's focusing on moving more and getting back on track after Christmas. One of the main questions I'm asked is how do you get yourself motivated to work out? I personally don't think keeping fit means you have to hammer the gym 5x a week, it's just about moving more. If you read my exercise addiction post, you'll know that I actually think there's too much pressure on us to workout every single day, movement is so important but it's better to have quality than quantity. Today I wanted to give you 6 ways I think you can motivate yourself to move more this year in the hopes that it inspires you when you can't really be bothered to work out or maybe you've lost your mojo a little. Let's go, here are 6 easy ways to motivate yourself to workout or to move more.

Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Cleansing Ritual Review

Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Cleansing Ritual

Gifted items and Ad affiliate links used - When Charlotte Tilbury puts her name to something, you know it's going to be good. I've had the pleasure of meeting Charlotte a number of times now and whilst I'd always been a fan of her incredible products, meeting the lady herself and hearing her talk about how much love, effort and pride she puts into each Charlotte Tilbury creation before it hits the shelves, only made me love and trust in her products even more. We all know that Charlotte's hol grail when it comes to skincare is her Magic Cream and today, I thought it would be good to review Charlotte Tilbury's new Super-Natural Goddess Cleansing Ritual collection (that's quite the mouthful isn't it?!). New Year, new skincare routine and all that huh? Yup. Sit down and get cosy and let's talk about Goddess Cleansing Ritual by Charlotte Tilbury.

Jo Malone Myrrh and Tonka Collection

Gifted items and Ad affiliate links used - Hey guys, hope you're so well. I'm sure most of you know I adore Jo Malone (who doesn't?), I'm literally their biggest fan. Over the last few years I've built up a pretty beautiful collection of Jo Malone products in my home. For me, alongside Molton Brown and Diptyque (big lover of both too), Jo Malone is one of the best luxury fragrance and body brands. I love gifting myself with it and gifting others too and let's be honest, no bath is complete without some Jo Malone luxury. Today I wanted to discuss the two new additions to the Myrrh and Tonka collection, one of my favourite scents.

Jacket / skirt / top / Gucci Marmont bag / photos by Marta Ferenc - Ad affiliate links

Advertisement - I'd be lying if I said I ever wanted the festive season to end. I wish we could rewind and do Christmas and all it's wonderful festivities all over again please. I'm not ready to wait another year for the festive fun. I truly think Christmas is my favourite time of the year. I know it's tough having to go back to normal life, after spending time in pyjamas, eating everything and just being carefree with those we love so today I thought I'd write a blog post on beating the January blues. This is a collaboration with Zenflore.

My New Years Thoughts

Ted Baker boots online here / skirt online here / coat online here and similar here and here / Gucci Marmont bag online here / jumper online here / photos by Marta Ferenc - Ad affiliate links

It's January 6th and I've already broken all my New Years Resolutions... haha. Okay, so seriously, whilst I usually make 'set in stone' New Years resolutions, e.g, I HAVE TO DO THIS AND THAT. I thought this year it would be nicer to actually jot down some New Years thoughts, and more things I'm going to try and think about and actively do more this year, rather than lock myself into doing certain things. I do think resolutions are a good thing, as for so many people they help to get you on track and they help with goal setting so I'm hoping my New Year thoughts might inspire you and your own New Years thoughts and any goals you may have. I really do think the New Year is a great way to make positive changes and start a fresh page in your book, if a resolution inspires you then go for it. Happy New Year, I hope you enjoy reading this.
