Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate Review

Ad affiliate and Ad pr -

I remember strolling into the Kiehl's opening party in Leeds, I didn't own a blog but I was beauty obsessed. I got a little bit excited when I saw their new shiny store back in the day. I immediately fell in love with the shop, it wasn’t too big, the sales assistants didn’t jump on me, instead, they helped me out and genuinely cared when it came to skin care. I chose a gorgeous hair mask and their famous body butter, since then, I’ve always loved Kiehls as a brand. Lucky me, I recently got my hands on their Midnight Recovery Oil*. After a difficult few months with my skin (read all about it here), it took a lot of will power to dare to put anything that wasn't soap and water on my skin, but the outcome was one that I needed to share with you…

You Are Beautiful: What Is Beauty?

Writing a beauty blog is fun, but it's not all about product reviews, sometimes I like to actually discuss beauty as a whole so here we go. We’ve all sat and looked at celebrities, friends or even random girls and thought, I wish I looked even a little bit like her– if you’ve never done this, please tell me your secret to being confident. Today I am going to tackle this and explain why I think every woman should be confident in her own skin. I am so glad that beauty is now appreciated in all shapes and sizes, whereas it used to be very much the Marilyn Monroe figure, with women actually sucking themselves in to teeny corsets and making them selves ill, in order to achieve the perfect hourglass figure. (Correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s what my history teacher told me). We then had the size 0 debate, with many girls starving themselves to look like catwalk models, I recently read a book about the fashion industry which quotes models saying that it’s normal for them to pass out on a daily basis from a lack of food. I am going to discuss this today in the hopes that this blog post will make at least one of you smile and appreciate your own beauty, embrace and love yourself and be happy within your own skin...

How To Get A Flawless Make Up Base: The Perfect Base

We’ve all been there, looking at photos of Cara Delevingne, Victoria Secrets Models and other air brushed celebrities, hoping that we could look even a tiny bit as flawless as them. Today, I wanted to tell you about my favourite products for creating a perfect base, to give you a complexion to rival Kim Kardashians and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's…

Dorothy Perkins Style Essentials

When it comes to fashion, I've always played it safe, but recently, I've started branching out a bit more.  I'd like to thank Pinterest for that. I'm forever finding style inspiration on there and whilst I don't really write a fashion blog as such, girls who like beauty usually like clothes, so when Dorothy Perkins approached me to give me the low down on their latest range, I knew that I had to let you all know about it. I'm not going to lie and say that I used to shop at Dorothy Perkins, before this, I'd only entered a store so that I could check out Kim Kardashian's clothing range. I've always been very main stream when it comes to clothes and just gone to Topshop and Zara. Recently though, I've been searching for some new fashion shops and I was very impressed with what I came across in Dorothy Perkins...

What's In My Make Up Bag, September.

I’ve become a little bit obsessed with writing monthly make up bag blog posts, I love reading other peoples so I thought I'd start writing my own. I love sharing with you what’s in my make up bag as I do switch it up on a monthly basis, I seem to change my foundation every month and there's always a new lipstick that I'm loving. Let’s see what won my heart over this month and what hasn’t so much…

Win a £200 Virgin Activity Days Voucher

September is about new beginnings for a lot of people, I recently wrote an article for Urban Coco magazine about September and how it marks new beginnings, with thousands of people getting ready to start University (lots of you already there), thousands of graduates ready to start their new jobs and most of us getting ready to say goodbye to Summer, as far as the weather is concerned, Summer was over a long time ago. Is it really only 3 months until Christmas? In my article, I gave the low-down of must-do things this Autumn, one of them was to try something different this month and I’m giving you the chance to do that…Let's not be upset about Summer being over, let's live for the future and get excited for Winter, we're talking onesies, wellingtons and toffee apples. What's not to love?

Freshers Starting University Guide: Uni Survival Guide

Going to University is most definitely up there with one of the most life changing experiences you will ever come across, for the first time, you’ll be living away from home, moving away from life-long friends, taking the right steps towards your chosen career path and basically, starting a new life. I wish someone had written a guide for when I was starting university (a year ago this week!) because I was ridiculously nervous and really had no idea what to do or what to expect, so here is a little light hearted guide which should help you along your way...

How To Grow Hair Faster: Hair Growth Tips

Hair growth is something which I have been interested in for as long as I can remember. Recently I feel like I've become a bit of an expert on the topic of how to grow hair after nearly losing all of mine recently. I really damaged my hair after a troublesome time with bonded extensions which I will explain below, I’ve managed to get my hair back to full health, improve it’s thickness and length pretty quickly using a few simple and easy to follow tips, so I thought today I’d write a blog post which should help you get strong, healthy hair which eventually, leads to hair growth. Read on if you want to know how to grow and strengthen your hair pretty quickly actually...

When In Greece: Marbella Beach Hotel Corfu

Deciding to go on holiday two weeks before heading back to Uni freaked me out a little bit. It was hardly planned, we just packed up our stuff and went, I put an Out Of Office on my emails and decided to actually switch off for a week. I was nervous because I knew how much catching up I'd have to do when I got back, but sometimes, you've got to get away and when paradise is only 3 and a half hours away, it's pretty hard to resist...

Get The Glow: Autumn Is Here

Autumn is already upon us, I’ve got to be honest and admit that Autumn and Winter are my favourite months of the year, we’re talking chunky knits, fluffy scarves, Uggs and mittens. I am the coldest person in the world, so I love wrapping up and getting cosy. For beauty lovers, Autumn is an exciting month, we can ditch those BB creams and start applying those darker shades on our eyes and lips. Today, I’ve decided to write about my favourite items to fake an Autumn glow, there isn’t any season where I don’t want to be radiant, so let’s get started with my Autum must haves for a Kim Kardashian style glow…

Real Techniques Brush Review: More Than Your Average Brushes

Hello everyone:) So brushes are the topic today as I have finally got home from Greece! I'm back to normal posting now! I fell into the consumer trap when I was younger and longed for almost every MAC brush available. Every Christmas, I was lucky enough to receive a MAC brush or two, and I guarded them with my life. When I really got into make up, I decided to experiment with brushes. I'd love to try some Chanel ones because they will look gorgeous in my make up bag, but until I can bring myself to spend that much money on brushes again, I will stick with these. Real Techniques seem to have taken the world by storm, designed by Samantha Chapman from YouTube's Pixiwoo. I was recommended these by a friend a while ago and at £11.00ish, they were worth a try. I've got to say, once you use these brushes, you will never go back...

Desert Island Essential Products

I’ve often dreamt of being stuck on a desert island, lets face it, it wouldn’t be that bad really would it? Think of the endless sun sand and sea. However, being stuck on a desert island means that you can’t take a huge suitcase with you. I’ve often pondered over what products I’d take with me if I had to travel minimally and only take crucial products. This week, I’ve realised that I am a really bad traveller (my boyfriend can vouch for this), I pack far too many unnecessary things, so in an effort to organise myself, I think it’s time to think  about what I really do need, and prove to myself that if I was stuck on a desert island, I could easily get by with just 5 products. So here it goes, if I was only allowed 5 items with me for lets say a month or 2 of travelling, on a desert island, then these are the products that made the cut… I introduce you to my ultimate desert island survival worthy products…

The Best Things In Life

Sometimes I find that people take life a little too seriously, don't get me wrong, a lot of the time we need to take life seriously, when it comes to bills, exam results, arguments etc, they're pretty big serious issues to deal with and we all have to be serious at some point in our life so that's why I've decided that every few weeks I'll do an easy going, light hearted blog post. Something pretty and easy to read. The first one is going to be my favorite things in life, the simple pleasures... Sometimes we need a break and that's why I'm heading off to Greece to relax for a little while (and to eat lots of olives). I want you all to forget about any worries that you may have and think about the simple things in life that make you happy whilst reading this blog post. Have you ever looked at the sky and thought, wow, nature is pretty cool? Yeah it's one of those kind of posts. I've scheduled some posts for y'all whilst I'm at sea but for now I thought I'd leave you with this...

Maybelline Fit Me 2 in 1 Anti-Shine Fit Me Foundation Stick Review

Maybelline Fit Me 2 in 1 anti-shine foundation stick

When I saw an advert for Maybelline’s new Fit Me 2 in 1 Anti-Shine foundation stick, I knew I had to buy it. I haven’t used Maybelline for years, in fact, I’ve never used a Maybelline foundation. I’ve always been a lover of MAC and Dior when it comes to foundation, but many people swear by high-street foundations so it was time for me to try one. I’ve always wanted to try a foundation stick, it seems easier than applying a liquid foundation, I find I always apply too much and waste it all. This foundation looks pretty good on the advert too, so, typical me, a consumers dream, went to Boots and purchased this foundation (well done Maybelline, your advertisement worked), let’s just say, it’s not what I expected…
