The Best Autumn/Fall Beauty Products

Autumn beauty products
Autumn is well and truly here and boy am I happy about it. I absolutely love autumn, probably more so this year than any year. I'm sat here waiting for the trees to turn brown and loving wrapping myself up in all the teddy bear coats and my Burberry scarf. I'm keen to light all the autumn candles, stomp in as many leaves as possible and cover my lips in all the autumunal colours. Yup. I am the most cliche person ever, call me basic, but I love to embrace every season. I decided to go through my  beauty cupboards and pick out some of my favourite autumn beauty products today just incase I wasn't already in the mood for autumn. Get cosy and enjoy!

Clinique better glow foundation
Hello hello! I hope you are all well today? It's been one of those days where I've really enjoyed applying my make up and totally fallen back in love with base products. I was sat looking at my foundations and realised I haven’t actually done a foundation round up post in a very long time, in fact, have I ever done a foundation round up post?! If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know that a flawless base is my favourite thing to achieve. I'm obsessed with skincare, powders, concealers, primers, foundations. I just love feeling like my canvas is flawless. Obviously, most of that comes from skincare, (my favourite thing too) with good skincare, generally comes a good base for make up, but today I wanted to talk to you about a few key products I love for a flawless face, make up wise as I talk about skincare so much. Here are my top 5 base foundation products for the most flawless make up look, these foundations will take you from day to night, Monday or Saturday. I've got you. These are my all time favourites so I hope you’ll enjoy!

How To Get The Perfect Work Life Balance

Hey guys, hope you are so well! Today I wanted to write a blog post all about the importance of work life balance. There’s a quote I live by, ‘don’t focus so much on making a living that you forget to make a life’ and I totally agree with this, it's something I keep reminding myself. I definitely feel work life balance is something I’ve had to teach myself over the last few years. As well as motivation too. Working for myself is a bit of a double-edged sword, I wouldn’t change it for the world and I am so grateful but I either can’t get the motivation or I have too much motivation and never put my laptop down, giving myself exhaustion and running myself into the ground. I’ve got a lot better recently so I thought I’d write a blog post about this today with some of my top tips to achieving that balance. I really hope it helps any of you struggling!

Getting Your Fitness Mojo/Motivation Back

I’m finally feeling like I’m getting back into the swing of my fitness. Fitness is one of my biggest passions and it’s really difficult to work out when you’re here, there and everywhere. It's good to be busy, but I have no routine most weeks and for me, exercise is my release so I struggle without it. I wouldn't change my job for the world but I wish I could take my gym everywhere with me. I try to workout 4-5 times a week when I’m back in my routine and I honestly feel great for it. Nothing gives me better endorphins. I’ve been trying to mix my workouts up with new things so my body doesn’t get bored and so mentally, it feels challenging and fun. In September, I told you I was taking part in a challenge which is for a great cause and means you can keep fit in the process too. Todays post is gonna be a reminder of my top tips to keep motivated when working out, how to get back on it after time off and I’ll tell you about the challenge too so you can take part.

How To Love Your Hair - How To Fix Damaged Hair

I absolutely adore my hair. There we go, I said it. It's frowned upon to say 'nice things' about ourselves but in a world full of hate and, many of us struggling with confidence, it's important to practice self-love. Believe me, it's taken me years to be in a position where I love my hair but I'm so glad I took the time to cherish it and work with it, I'm finally getting to where I want to be with it. Side note: getting your hair into a healthy position will never happen overnight if it's as damaged as mine was, we're talking years. If you've followed me for some time, I'm sure you know all about my hair story, from really bad hair extensions to trying literally every hair extension on the market to find the best ones, to my hair refusing to grow and having bald patches. My hair extensions were like a curtain of confidence for me and without them I felt really ugly, for a very long time. I'm finally cherishing and embracing my hair, loving it too. Bad hair days have ruined my confidence, trivial, but true. I've been there, done that. We've all had those days where we destroyed our hair as teens and I feel lucky that my hair has forgiven me in time. Believe me, it was hard not to crumble and just go back to extensions but finally, I have my own thick, medium length hair which is dare I say it, *growing quicker and quicker by the day* and I'm gonna talk you through some of the things I've done to get my hair back into good condition.

Judgement And Online Hate

white maxi dress with split

Hello hello hello! I've had this post ready to publish for quite a few weeks now, but I've been wondering whether or not to post it, I've hovered over the 'publish' button for far too long. I've decided to go for it only after reading my friend Victoria, from InTheFrow's post about how much words can hurt, (sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me is such an old school saying and emotional abuse/abuse via words is just as bad and damaging as physical abuse). The wonderful Victoria talks more eloquently about further things on the subject so please open that up and have a read too. Without her posting that, I wouldn't have ever published this. I guess the real reason I've been so indecisive when writing this post in the first place and then clicking publish is because as the saying goes ‘don’t feed the trolls'. Online 'trolls' absolutely live for attention, they thrive off it and it only makes them feel like they're achieving something. Let's be honest, you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't, you could censor your whole life and someone will still find something negative to say online. Rather than ‘feeding the trolls’ then, I guess today my post will be all about a darker side of the internet and breaking this down a little. Let’s discuss.

10 Things I'd Tell My Younger Self About University

university of Leeds graduation
Hello hello! Today I thought I'd do a post featuring the 10 things I'd tell my younger self about University. I know a lot of you guys are just starting University or maybe pushing through second year, thinking about doing a year abroad or even battling with third year dissertations, I thought this post might help you. I graduated in July last year (read about my graduation day) so thought I'd do this from a looking back point of view.

Issho Japanese Restaurant Review Leeds

issho Leeds sushi

No matter where I am in the world, Yorkshire will always be home. I grew up in Yorkshire and studied at the University of Leeds so it’s definitely gives me those cosy homely vibes. For me, home is where the heart is and after growing up in Yorkshire, then studying in Leeds and living in Canada, it's safe to say I have a few places around the world that truly feel like home. I seem to spend 50% of my time in London and 50% in Leeds at the moment but it's always a pleasure to be back up North. If you’re Northern, you’ll know just how incredible Leeds has become over the last few years and is still, becoming on a monthly basis. I can barely keep up with all the new openings. I’ve always had high hopes for Leeds and definitely spent most of my time at University telling people how brilliant it is, or, had the potential to be. It seems, month after month, more epic restaurants are opening in Leeds and you will have hopefully seen that I recently visted a number of restaurants as part of Leeds Restaurant week. At the time I visited Issho Rooftop Restaurant and Bar and loved it so much, I promised myself I would be back soon. Fast forward and I’ve now been three times (hopefully a fourth for my brothers birthday later this month as it's now also his favourite restaurant). It only makes sense then that I give you a full review of Issho, the new addition to the Leeds restaurant scene and in my opinion, one of the best restaurants to hit Leeds in the last few years.

Our incredible California road trip seems like forever ago. We grabbed too many suitcases, hopped on our Norwegian flight and before we knew it, we were in San Francisco. We visited so many different places on our month long road trip and stayed at over 11 properties so apologies from me as my posts from the trip are taking quite some time to get through. The most important one though, my top tips for planning a West Coast California road trip, is one you should start with! I go through each place we visited, where we stayed and what we really thought of all the stops on a road trip, aqs well as talking you through our exact itinerary, budgets for a California road trip and more. If you are planning to do a California road trip, definitely give it a read! Today though, I'm writing a post I've been itching to write for a weeks. We headed to Carmel By The Sea, against everyones advice (we were told it was boring not worth stopping at which is totally fine as we all have our own opinions) but I couldn't be more glad we stopped here. Read why.
