With less than 50ish days until Christmas at the time of publishing this, it's fair to say, Christmas is creeping up on us very quickly indeed. My Christmas gift guides are starting earlier this year as it seems more people are shopping online earlier this year and trying to get organised so I thought it was the perfect time to start with my first gift guide of the year. I'm bringing you some of the best Christmas gift ideas for everyone... rather than making this particular guide gender specific (don't worry, they're coming too) I thought I’d put together a little guide to universal Christmas gift ideas so you've got some Christmas gift ideas for even the hardest person to buy for… the kind of gifts your Mum/Grandma/Dog/Grandad/Mother In Law and boyfriend will love, one of these will definitely tick that box.

If you’re not thinking of Christmas just yet, these will be great for ‘I’m thinking of you’ gifts too. Keep an eye out for more Christmas gift guides coming soon and don’t forget to bookmark this blog post and come back to it.

P.S Don't miss my gift ideas for everyone post I wrote up earlier this year for even more amazing gift ideas and the best promo codes, if you're looking for discounted Christmas gifts! Oh and of course,
the best loungewear guide is here too!

The best Christmas gift ideas for everyone:

Food - Food glorious food, who doesn’t like food? I had to put this as number one because honestly, I cannot think of anyone who wouldn't want to receive food as a gift. I have been sending foodie gifts to friends and family members throughout the whole of lockdown, it really is an actual useful or, yummy gift... and food appeals to everyone really so here are my top food gifts:

- Brownies... because who doesn't want brownies? For postal deliveries try The Good News Baker, I bought some for my friends and they were blown away, plus they come beautifully packaged and are from a small business, they can go through letterboxes too, so much love/testing goes into each flavour.
For my Yorkshire friends (but, they also do postal orders now too, yay) for slutty brownies, you've got The Savvy Baker - I bought some for my boyfriend for our anniversary and honestly, I ate the majority myself, incredible flavours. Brownies are such an indulgent and scrummy treat, a real way to brighten anyones day and a great stocking filler too.

- For biscuits, because why send a card when you can send personalised biscuits? I LOVE small business Biscuit Bunny Bakes, I sent 'I love you' to my Mum, birthday biscuits to my brother and biscuits to my friend who was going through a tough time, they're really thoughtful as they're fully personalised and delicious, again, supporting a small business - pop whatever note you wish on the biscuits and even choose your shape. Matt is Biscuiteers obsessed, you can always grab them online here too for epic, special, personalised biscuits too... gotta say, I am slightly obsessed with their Christmas Pudding biscuit, way more fun than a card right? If money was no object, I'd be getting the Paddington biscuit set as I love the film Paddington. A £10 biscuit is a really affordable but special way to say: Merry Christmas / I miss you / I'm thinking of you but it's quirky and thoughtful too.

- For fitness lovers or even just chocolate lovers in general, Misfits bars - vegan friendly chocolate bars but very low in everything too (low calorie, low sugar but high protein) and such a good snack - don't forget to use promo code EMS20 at Misfits for 20% discount! I buy my brother and Matt Misfits bars in bulk as they LOVE them so we stock them up in the house, plus, for anyone who is massively into fitness and health or loves making smoothies, grab their greens powder and protein powders too - finally a low sugar health brand! If you're looking for luxury chocolate without the premium price tag, try Rhythm108 choc cookies and Mylk praline bars (vegan friendly for any vegan gift recipients or gift recipients with dietary requirements and 46% less sugar too, you wouldn't know, they taste divine and are so luxurious too) my whole family are obsessed - I recommend the hazelnut cookies and the MYLK bar, it's like praline - they do amazing gift sets, promo code EMS20 gets you discount at Rhythm108 too.

- Obviously most people love all things chocolate, I will be buying some goodies from HotelChocolat for my family this year, my favourites are the gift boxes and the hot chocolate and you can use code EM10 for discount there too! I'll be getting my Mum and Matt's family an 'everything' box from HotelChocolat as I know they love the brand so much. I always throw a bar or 5 of Dairy Milk Chopped Nut in Matt's Christmas hamper, his favourite!  Don't miss my post on the best Hotel Chocolat Christmas gifts too, use EM10 for discount.

- For someone who likes baking, you could always treat them to my healthier, yummy baking ebook! 55 yummy recipes!

Food Hamper - I love the idea of putting together a huge hamper of yummy goodies for someone and honestly do this most years for friends and family, it's a foolproof gift that everyone loves and you can make it work to whatever budget you may have. I will choose all their favourite foodie things and put it all together in a hamper. For Matt's birthday I did him a hamper with coffee beans, healthy protein bars and more... so you can tailor it to the recipient. You can get a gorgeous, forever hamper here to put it all in and just fill it full of someones fave things.

If you really can't be bothered to make your own hamper up and order the individual things, the best Christmas hampers so far this year are Harvey Nichols, the winter warmer hamper is a dream come true (I simply adore the Harvey Nichols foodhall) or the Night Before Christmas hamper for nibbles! A Daylesford hamper would be my dream come true and for anyone else who loves Daylesford! Of course, Selfridges because they always do amazing hampers! I'm cheese obsessed so would LOVE this cheese and chutney hamper... or you could order this cheese set and put it in your very own hamper for less! As I say, I'll often buy luxury teas and chocolates from favourite sites (HN do lovely luxe teas and so do Harrods) and pop them in a wicker basket, online here

You could always go for a gift that keeps giving, like the Virgin Wines Wine Advent calendar or their gin version!

Food Platters - For something really special, send over a grazing platter or grazing plate to make someones entire month, it totally depends where you are based but I bought my family the most incredible grazing platters during a stay in the Cotswolds and it made SUCH a good gift. One of my favourite brands I discovered this year is called Berry and Brie and they do the most incredible grazing platters, delivered to the door, so you could send a Christmas tree full of cheese, or even a brunch box or afternoon tea box - check delivery radius as this is more for Southern gift recipients unfortunately but, if your recipient is within their radius, I highly recommend ordering some gorgeous gifts from this gorgeous family run business. It would make a lovely gift for a whole family or order something smaller for a friend! I wish this was closer to my family. Located in Surrey, I also discovered The Grazing House, imagine brownie boxes delivered to the door, afternoon tea boxes and the biggest grazing platters... perfect for any pre-Christmas nights in as a lovely gift to a loved one (and hopefully you live with them so you can share too!)

Food That Gives Back -
We all know I love eating out and we've continued to support local restaurants by getting a takeaway or take out coffee etc during this tough period...you could find local restaurants that have had to close and send someone a delivery from them as a gift or, see what their online offerings are, for example a local cafe near me has opened up as a deli/takeaway and does lovely cakes etc which would make a lovely gift - if you're wanting to order a cake and are in London, I highly recommend Radio Lamington, best cakes EVER and they give back to the NHS too. It would make a lovely delivery at someones door.

Voucher - I know it's often better to buy someone a physical gift but in todays climate, I think a voucher is a lovely gift as it gives the recipient something to look forward to but helps a business in the meantime, plus. depending on the voucher, the recipient can then choose something they're going to actually use. Voucherwise gift ideas, I'm talking nail bars/make up artists/brows/hair appointment/massage and even gym passes. I have been trying to buy vouchers for friends/family for RagDoll Nails and Sassoon Leeds this year - two of my favourite Yorkshire based salons. I always say a David Lloyd membership would be the dream gift (you can even get couples membership too, epic gift) - David Lloyd is so much more than a gym - it's a community, a family, an office space to work so it really is the best gift ideas... so there are lovely things like that too, which will really help businesses but also be really useful down the line... you can always see if you can buy personal training sessions too, my Mum bought me some personal training vouchers for my local David Lloyd and it was the best gift ever... you are helping personal trainers who may currently be out of work and it's such a useful gift for someone who's into fitness or wants to get into fitness! It's something people don't really like paying for themselves either. Personally I'd love a Deliveroo voucher as it means I can buy from local restaurants every weekend from the comfort of my own home and it's what I spend most of my money on haha...

Dyson Hair Dryer and online here too

Dyson hairdryer, the Airwrap or ghd - If in doubt, go for a useful tech gift... gone are the days of hair products being for women only (all my boyfriends have always LOVED using hair straighteners and hair dryers and I LOVE IT), everyone needs to do their hair...even my Grandad...if in doubt, get someone a lovely ghd gift set, I actually think this years offerings from ghd are my favourite yet... their iridescent white set is a total dream, everyone in my family uses ghd straighteners and of course, their new Helios hairdryer is amazing for him and her and their prettiest set yet I'd say. My ghds last forever and ever, they're the best. Keep an eye on asos too for discounted black Friday ghd sales too.

When it comes to hair, of course, we can't not talk about the mighty Dyson, more expensive than ghd, but a great gift idea for everyone - my brother and Matt adore theirs (they think Dyson is the coolest of cool and they'd be right). Myself and the boys in my life love all things Dyson - we said RIP to our Dyson Hair Dryer and I'm tempted to get Matt the new copper gift edition for Christmas... DIVINE (and online here too) don't forget the Dyson Airwrap, it has revolutionised my whole entire life, I dry and style my hair within minutes... even Matt uses my Dyson Airwrap. I am considering getting my brother his own this Christmas because the boys love it for sleek hair. It was originally marketed as a curling tool but it is so much more than that. When it comes to hair products, we know tech hair products are forever gift so they're definitely worth the outlay plus, the whole family can use them. I spotted you can now get the Airwrap in copper too - online here and here. I am in love.

Lastly you've got the L'Oreal steampod which is sooo dreamy for soft hair and it's kind to the hair too! I had a blow-dry using it and couldn't believe how good my hair looked.

Kiehl's Christmas

Skincare - The gift that keeps giving for anyone, there are too many good skincare brands out there and it really depends on the recipients skin type or skin needs - check the beauty section of my blog out for beauty favourites if you are looking to buy someone a cult favourite or hang on for my full blown Christmas gift guide... for now, I have so many favourites, whether it's Skin Ceuticals, Elizabeth Arden, Neutrogena,  Kiehl's. This is where you decide 'do I buy someone a top up of one of their all time favourite products', 'do I let them try a holy grail product' or 'do I invest in a Christmas gift set so they get more for my money?' - brownie points to be honest for buying any of the brands above as they're the creme de la creme. Some top gift sets so far this year include this insane Elizabeth Arden x LookFantastic gift set full of their best sellers - so many of my fave products inside, L'Occitane Christmas sets because their almond range is honestly to die for and I get it for my Mum every single year, Kiehl's  Christmas sets - such a good way to save money on really good skincare, I'd recommend their Facial Favourites kit and the Hydration Essentials kit.

If you think body care is more suitable - who doesn't love a pamper? I have written up a guide to the best body moisturisers to gift. I've got to say the Molton Brown gift sets blow me away EVERY year when it comes to pampering and please, sign me up to every single Jo Malone item for Christmas 2020. I cannot wait to try the range. For a smaller but luxe pamper treat, I love this Diptyque little pamper bags from gifting heroes, Space NK.

Amazon devices - Even my Grandad loves all things Amazon, I spoke to someone recently who got her Nanna hooked up with an Alexa so she can use the automatic light function and we've got my whole family hooked up on Ring Indoor Camera so we can use the indoor camera to check up on our family - it is honestly genius. Of course, you could also get the Kindle for any avid book readers. Amazon devices are top notch and SO easy to use, there really is something for everyone.

Kitchen Utensils - I always think anything kitchen themed makes a good Christmas gift, whether you decide to get someone a new coffee machine, a toaster, a kettle, a pasta maker, a pie maker, a chocolate fountain, a toastie maker, a samosa maker... or even some special wine glasses, beautiful heart stoneware or a Dyson hoover, a Thermomix (both of which I'd love to get my Mum!)... the list goes on! Firstly, Thermomix, the best item for any kitchen and if money is no object, definitely invest... they chop, crush, sautée, make dough, make pasta, make soups, fillings, peanut butter... honestly, there's not much a Thermomix can't do! It's capabilities are endless. I swear by mine, it really has revolutionised my life. My waffle maker was the best present ever too, so handy to pop out and bake with! I think as more and more of us are cooking this year, it's so nice to have a well equipped kitchen so a a pasta maker is definitely on my list. I also have a Kenwood mixer and it's one of the best kitchen utensils ever if you're looking to buy a gift for an avid baker! If you're looking for a hoover, the best of the best is the Dyson V11, it's cordless and would make millenials, to grandmas, to boyfriends, to Mums far and wide happy! I love making mess so I can use mine, seriously. I'd love my very own pizza oven, I think that would be a very cool gift too!

Headphones - The majority of people use them, my Mum, my brother, my boyfriend, whether you go for some useful AirPods (online here) too or over ear headphones are always a good essential shout, there's I like JBL and I love Dre Beats too. .P.S, Selfridges 20% off has landed already!!

Toothbrush - When asking my brother what he'd like for his birthday recently he said a toothbrush and that got me thinking, of course, a toothbrush is such a good essential item and makes such a good present too. EVERYONE NEEDS TO BRUSH THEIR TEETH! Even my Grandad would love a new toothbrush. Before I knew it, I was an absolute genius and top researcher of all the best new techy toothbrushes. I ended up getting him the Oral B 9000.P.S, Selfridges 20% off has landed already!!

Something Knitted - Whether it's a cardigan for your bestie (this hand knitted cardigan is amazing), a roll neck for your boyfriend or brother (this one here is so affordable in the sale and such a gorgeous premium brand), some cashmere gloves for your Grandma, a new knitted hat for your Mum or just a chunky knitted throw for the interiors lover, a knitted hot water bottle cover or a lovely scarf - there's something special about a knitted gift. You can read my blog post about the best loungewear if you're looking for pyjamas or comfy inspo.

Lots of love, Em x
