How To Lower Stress And Pressure Levels - Stress Busting Tips

I definitely used to be the queen of stressing out, letting the pressure get to me and just getting myself into a tizz. I feel like it's quite a common thing to do, to overthink everything, make stress where stress shouldn't exist and get ourselves worked up, and worried over well, things that don't actually need to be stressed over. Equally though, I get myself stressed about things that are worth stressing over but that's another story. I guess what I'm trying to say is (and this is easier said than done) we only live once and we shouldn't sweat the small stuff. As humans though, it's definitely in our nature to sweat the small stuff and luckily, I've come up with some ways to lower stress levels. Stress can have really serious impacts on your health and it isn't good to be stressed and worried, I promised myself I'd really try and do the things I can within my control to lower my stress/pressure at the start of this year and thought I'd share my best ways for lowering stress and pressure on today's post with some easy stress busting tips.

Jo Malone Honeysuckle And Davana Review

Jo Malone Honeysuckle & Davana Review As we head into the final weeks of Summer (ah Summer, we loved you this year), I felt it was only right to write about and review the new Jo Malone Honeysuckle & Davana range. I'm trying to make more of a conscious effort to go back to old school blogging and alongside my personal, travel, fitness and life blog posts (which I love writing and wont be changing!), bring back some new in beauty reviews so I can coninue to rave about brilliant beauty products, starting last week with Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Blush and Eye Shadow Review. Today, it's Jo Malone's time to shine. Jo Malone Honeysuckle and Davana is described as a happy new floral and I thought it would be perfect to chat about this before it gets too chilly as I feel like it’s the perfect late summer, autumn transitional fragrance. Yep, I really just described a fragrance as transitional. I’ve been the biggest Jo Malone fan for as long as you can imagine (Earl Grey and Cucumber, Mimosa and Cardamom, Tuberose Angelica are just a few of my favourites) so it feels right to introduce you to their beautiful new range. Read on for a review of Jo Malone’s brand new Honeysuckle and Davana range.

6 Rules I Try To Live By - How To Be More Balanced In Life

Zebra Print Pinafore Dress

Balance, it’s one of those overused, cliche words but it’s a word I love. If you’ve followed me for quite some time, you’ll probably know that I am a strong believer in balance. I use the idea of balance in work, play, fitness and my diet. Granted, I’m not the best at balancing everything (that’s the catch, balance isn’t always easy to achieve) but, I give it a good shot and recognise the importance of it. As I preach the idea of balance so much, I thought it would be nice to talk to you today about my top tips for living a balanced life and the ways I try to incorporate balance into my life to ensure I’m happy, fit and healthy (whilst living life and eating pizza too because happiness for me is not eating lettuce leaves). I hope this will help you with a few tips when it comes to balancing your life too, 6 easy little rules I try to live by for a more balanced, happy life!

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Blush & Luxury Eye Palette Review

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Blush & Luxury Eye Palette Review
It’s always a good day when Charlotte Tilbury brings out a new product, you just know it’s going to be epic. The first Charlotte Tilbury product I ever bought was Pillow Talk, Charlotte’s famous nude lip liner. We all know Meghan Markle swears by and uses Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks too! This month, Charlotte has launched the next chapter of Pillow Talk, an extension to her universally loved and AWARD-WINNING (of course) Pillow Talk lip duo with her new, ‘Most Beautiful You’ blush and eye palettes, yup, she's only gone and launched a Pillow Talk blush and eye palette. Get comfortable as I review and have a look at these brand new products from Charlotte Tilbury.

Lessons I've Learned From Past Relationships

 Stradivarius stripe jumpsuit
Jumpsuit online here / and here / Gucci Marmont bag online here /

Hello hello, so today, a personal post. I received so many emails after writing my how getting cheated on affected me blog post so I guess I wanted to write something else about relationships. I’m still young, but I’ve kissed a fair few 'frogs' and have had my heart broken/damaged a fair few times, read my blog post about how to deal with heartbreak if you missed that. I was sat in the car recently thinking about things past boyfriends have said to me that have stuck with me or damaged me in some way or, even made me a better person. I thought it would be nice to write down what these relationships have taught me, in the hopes that it helps someone else. Remember, things do get better and looking back, I see now that all of these things have shaped me as a person. Warning: this is quite in depth and I don’t want to upset anyone but by sharing my experiences so hope it may help you.

Top Travel Tips And Hacks

Topshop Striped Open Back Dress

To travel is to live, that's how the saying goes right? If we were meant to be in one place for the rest of our lives, we'd have roots instead of feet, apparently. I think that's a pretty good way to look at life. We live in a huge world, an extraordinary world and we can learn SO much from travelling and the people we meet along the way. To travel doesn't mean you have to hop on a plane to Thailand and 'find yourself' for a year, it could mean a weekend trip, a week somewhere or even a month. Travel is what you make of it and remember, we all have different preferences when it comes to travel; you might like hostels, another person may prefer luxury hotels and yachts. To tell you the truth, I hadn't travelled outside of Europe until I was 18. This travel bug is a pretty new thing and I put it down to meeting people at University who'd spent their lives travelling as if it was normal to hop on a plane to Hong Kong one day and then Thailand the next. I'm fortunate enough to have flown abroad every year since I was about 2, to beautiful European destintions (don't knock Europe, it's an incredible place) but I'd never gone further afield until I hit 18. I'll never forget my first time outside of Europe though. We visited Jamaica and after that, I didn't stop. I quickly ticked off a large number of American states, lots of Asia, the majority of the Carribean islands and then, took the plunge and moved to Canada. Now? 5 years later, I've visited well over 20 countries, some multiple times. Today, in collaboration with Expedia I am going to give you my top tips when it comes to travelling, I've learnt so much on these trips, with 24 hour whirlwind trips, booking things the day before, pre-planned trips to the other side of the world, moving abroad and more so sit back with a cup of something nice and let's discuss my top travel tips and hacks I've picked up along the way, I'm hoping this will help you for any up and coming trips!

What To Do In Pembrokeshire, Tenby + Saundersfoot + Win A Luxury Trip

When I think of Wales it brings back so many happy memories. As a child, I'd visit with my family every Summer and Mum and I would scope out the best Victoria sponge cake (always eating, even back then) whilst my brother and Dad would fly their power kites on the long, beautiful and pretty empty beaches. My favourite trip and one I remember so vividly is a trip we took to Abersoch, I remember sitting on the little sand dunes with my brother and feeling so happy, feeling as if we were in a totally different part of the world. I'm desperate to hire a house there and take my family back one day in the near future. We've always travelled far and wide as a family on planes and boats but what about hopping in the car or on a simple train journey to Wales? I always say just how beautiful Great Britain is and how much there is to explore here, right on our doorstep. Last week, I did just that. I hopped on a few trains and before I knew it, I was in a part of Wales I've never been to before, Pembrokeshire. Today I'm gonna show you a visual diary from my trip as well as talking about some of the top things to do when visiting Tenby and Saundersfoot. The epic news? One of you can win the exact luxurious, relaxing trip I had so keep reading to enter too. This is in collaboration with Visit Wales.

The Best Skin Cleansers

best skin cleansers
Hello hello! On my recent vlogs and Instagram posts, I’ve had a lot of questions asking about my skincare routine. Skincare is one of my many passions and I love trying new products so my routine is very much mixed and matched, I really don't think you have to stick with just the one brand. Last week I wrote a post on the top skin serums so make sure you read that if you’re interested in the powerful little products after cleansing. Today, I thought it made sense to talk about the cleansers I’ve been using and loving over the last few months so I went into my bathroom and grabbed my most used cleansers so far this year. You can’t go wrong with any of these if you’re looking for a new cleanser.

13 Ways I've Been Living A Happier Life

candy shop photo
Jumpsuit online here / photos taken in Tenby

I know it's easier said than done, telling someone how to lead a happier life. You can't really. Let's face it, we all have our own problems going on and we are all fighting battles people know nothing about. I have a love-hate relationship with the internet, on one hand, it's the best thing ever, but on the other hand, people wrongly judge people every single day. Remember, the girl on Instagram will be fighting battles too, she may just choose not to share them and that's okay. It's a tough one because it can obviously be damaging to pretend things are okay and only show things through a filtered lens online but, I personally enjoy Instagram for what it is and take it with a pinch of salt, knowing that the people behind the photos have stories too, I quite like going there to escape but for example I find Twitter scrolling can make me feel really negative if I read the wrong thing. Recently, I've found my moods have been massively lifted and there are a few things I've been doing which have been helping with that. This isn't me telling you how to be happy because only you know what will make you truly happy but, these are a few little things that are brightening my days and lifting my mood at the moment and I hope they'll help you too.

The Best Skin Serums + Moisturisers

best skin serums
I'm sure you all know just how much I adore skincare, it's most definitely my guilty pleasure and I know I buy way more than one girl should. I do mix my skincare up a lot, so today I wanted to give you an update on the serums and lotions/potions I've been using recently on my skin. The products in this post are products I'm grabbing at the moment and mix and matching for my skincare routine, you don't have to stick to just one brand or one product, you can take the benefits from a few. There are SO many epic skincare products out there and so many insane products in my bathroom at the moment so I just wanted to grab all of them and talk about why I adore them and show you what I'm actually using right now. I often talk about my favourite skincare in my vlogs, you'll see what I'm using on a daily basis but I've neglected talking about my favourite skin care products on the blog so get cosy with a cup of something nice and let's talk about my favourite top moisturisers and serums at the moment.

Adventures At Thorpe Park Theme Park

red wrap dressDress here and similar here / sunglasses online here

I'm never gonna turn down a fun day out, particularly after a week of feeling unwell. I'm definitely trying to be a bit more adventurous in life, I'm a real workaholic and feel as if somewhere along the line, I got 'too busy' to feed the adventurous kick in me so I'm trying to be more spontaneous and fun, rather than be glued to my laptop for the rest of my life. Life is for living! Last week we'd planned to visit Chessington World Of Adventures and I was SO excited because they have Go Ape (which is basically my favourite day out at the moment) and lots of fun forest walks with a few rides along the way. Due to SO much traffic the day before, it wasn't meant to be and we changed our plans and drove 40 mins down the road to Thorpe Park instead. Whilst Chessington wasn't meant to be (we will be back) it gave us a great excuse to visit Thorpe Park. I've never actually been to Thorpe Park before but we headed off for a day of adventure. In fact, I hadn't ever even researched Thorpe Park so the whole day was a total surprise, spontaneity at it's finest haha. Come join us. This is a partnership with Coca-Cola.

How to deal with heartbreak

polka dot skirt

Skirt / trainers / tee / sunglasses / taken by Michael Drummond in Wales

I’ve wanted to write this blog post for quite sometime now. Recently I have received a number of emails and Instagram DM’s from people dealing with heartbreak. Having a broken heart is well, state the obvious Em… heartbreaking but I do believe these things are sent to test us. I strongly believe, looking back, that heartbreak has shaped part of who I am today. In some ways, negatively as it’s destroyed my trust in some situations but, in other ways, positively. I’ve been in relationships since I was young so I feel as if I’ve had my fair share of heartbreak. The majority of my major heartaches happened between the age of 15-19 so now I’m a little bit older, I’ve learnt a lot from them and they shape my relationships going forward. Heartbreak hurts at any age and I remember every single time I've felt broken because of a relationship. Let’s discuss heartbreak and how to deal with it.

Workout Tips

Shop the bikini /

Hello hello! Yay it’s time for a fitness blog post. I’m hoping you read my updated gym routine blog post, if not, make sure you check that out. Today I wanted to do a summer fitness post and talk about some top tips for workouts and health from yours truly. I don’t believe in the whole ‘work hard for your bikini body’ mentality as in my mind, if you want a bikini body, you’ve already got one, just put a bikini on. But, on the flip side, I do understand people use goals such as summer or a holiday as motivation and goals for working out or eating better and you know what, that’s totally fine. It’s all about what works for you. If you are in need of some motivation this summer, I’m also gonna be telling you about an exciting 21 day challenge and you can start it as soon as you wish. Let’s talk fitness! This post is in collaboration with Herbalife Nutrition.

Create Your Own Cadbury Bar

picnic in the parkTrousers /

If you’re a long time follower of EmTalks you’ll know I’ve got a serious sweet tooth. Could I ever give up chocolate? No way. As a chocolate lover, for me, you can’t get better than a humble bar of Cadbury. This Easter all I wanted from my family was a Cadbury egg (unbeatable) and my main favourite is bag of giant Cadbury chocolate buttons. I’ve even dreamt of going into the Cadbury factory so you can imagine my face when they got in touch with me about this campaign. I find their chocolate so smooth and particularly good melted on my strawberries. It’s fair to say then, that I am a big Cadbury fan. Yes I am all about balance and moderation, this means eating a little bit of what you fancy, rather than ever depriving yourself. The good news my fellow chocolate lovers? Cadbury are opening their doors and giving you the chance to invent the next Cadbury Dairy Milk (yep, seriously!) It is a total honour to collaborate with Cadbury on this campaign. Open up for more details.

Miami Beach Travel Diary + Nobu Hotel Miami

tie front white swimsuit missguided

I've been fortunate enough to visit Miami a few times now and I feel so happy every time I get to go back, not only because Miami is an amazing place, but also because one of my friends lives there and it's a pleasure to catch up with him too. I am fortunate enough to have friends dotted around in different places in the world meaning they can always give me the best tours of new places. If you're a long time EmTalks reader, you'll know I've already written up a Miami travel guide so if you are looking for a what to do in Miami style post, you need to read that first! Once again, I had such an epic time in Miami and thought it would only be right to do a little photo diary and talk to you about this trip.

Top Pillars For Wellbeing

Today I thought I'd write a blog post about my top kind of 'pillars for health' and why I'm trying to do them more to benefit my wellbeing. Funnily enough, I sit writing this post at 1am. Not a good start for your wellbeing Em. See that's the thing, like so many of us, I understand the importance of good sleep and exercise but do I take my own advice? Not all the time. Easy Ways I've Made My Life More Adventurous

If you read my 8 ways to bring adventure into every day blog post, you’ll know that I’ve been working in partnership with Say Aloe this summer on an exciting campaign. The challenge? to bring adventure into every day. As much as I’m quite sensible and believe in saving up etc, I’m also a big believer in living for the moment, enjoying whats in front of us and finding the positives in life. We all have bad days, it’s totally normal and we wouldn’t be human without them but, I’m really trying to get better at seeing the positives in life and embracing every single day, after all, every day is a gift (as cliche as that sounds). Today I want to look back at the 8 ways to add adventure to your every day and look at what I’ve done to add some adventure into my day, hopefully, this post will inspire you. This post is in collaboration with Say Aloe.

Zoella Splash Botanics Beauty Review

Zoella Splash Botanics Beauty Range
Oh hey hey, hope you are well today! If you follow me over on Instagram @emshelx (come say hello!) you may or may not know that I kindly received the new Zoella Splash Botanics range. As soon as Zoella's Jelly + Gelato range came out I just had to review it. I thought today was a good day to write up a little review of Zoe's newest launch, her Splash Botanics range. For me, Zoe's beauty range is so much more than just a beauty range, it's a female-owned business and it started from a young girls bedroom. It's incredibly inspiring.  If you follow me on any form of social media, hopefully, you'll know that I'm all about female power and lifting others up. I think Zoella is a great example of this, she has inspired so many young women to build businesses and she herself supports so many of us in the same industry. Why on earth wouldn't we support each other? I'm SO excited to see people smashing it in life. This week, Zoella Beauty Splash Botanics has launched let's see my thoughts. *SPOILER: LOOK HOW PRETTY IT IS.

5 Top Money Saving Tips - How I Saved Money To Buy A House

Shop the top / shop the trousers /

Money can be quite a taboo subject but it’s definitely a topic that can cause us a great deal of stress and anxiety. As a freelancer, I don’t have a guaranteed income every single month so I often find myself running myself into the ground workload wise. I also find I’ve had to be really strict with my savings, just in case *touch wood* I don’t bring in an income one month. I totally understand why so many people worry about where their next pay cheque is coming from - 2018 has been the year of people working for themselves, going freelance, job hunting and I’m seeing so many redundancies happening to people too. I watch my boyfriend, a graduate with a Masters and 2:1 in civil engineering from a red brick University struggle to get a job and now, I totally understand how hard it is for people fighting to get their foot in the door. Let's talk money saving tips and more. This is a collaboration with HSBC.

I’m absolutely in love with makeup and skincare and it’s not often I see a WHOLE range that I just need in my life. I first noticed someone using this range on their Instagram stories (yup, influencer marketing definitely does work) and have been patiently wanting to get my hands on it since. Let’s take a look at a few of my new favourite products for Summer from L’Oreal, they’re taking the beauty world by storm at the moment with their beautiful  new releases.

7 Of The Best Grooming / Beauty Products To Use After Working Out

sweaty Betty union jack

Shop my gym kit - leggings online here / top online here / shot at Loews Hollywood hotel / Yes, sorry my feet were cut hence the plasters, no photoshop here.

Hey guys hope you are so well. I recently wrote up my updated gym routine blog post but what about caring for your body after sweating in the gym? Today I thought it was time to talk about a few products I’m loving post-gym/exercise. I absolutely love a post-gym pamper but have never really talked about the things I use, or, haven't discussed this for quite some time over on the little old blog. Since January, I’ve been averaging 3-4 workouts per week and don’t ask me how because life has been hectic but you know what? I'm proud of myself and I feel great for it. Read my post about staying motivated at the gym for more on that. The hardest part about working out? Getting there in the first place. I’ve found I’m having to cram my workouts in, doing many days in a row which I don’t really like doing because rest is SO important and it means I haven’t been having many rest days. Here are some of the things that make it into my post workout grooming routine and make workouts/muscle soreness that little bit easier... This post is in collaboration with Femfresh, a brand I have been buying for years!

8 Ways To Bring Adventure Into Every Day

Shop the dress /

Hello hello, hope you guys are well today! I'm sure you've already seen this gorgeous dress on my Instagram @emshelx and I couldn't resist a cheeky little blog photoshoot with it either. If you read my Em’s challenge blog post last year or my 8 ways to energise yourself post earlier this year you’ll probably know that I’m always up for challenging myself, energising my life and I'm all about those positive vibes. Life can be well, let's face it, a pretty tough, negative place and as cliche as it sounds, I truly believe every single day is a gift. I feel lucky to wake up breathing and healthy every day and I think that's why I love this blog post so much, it's all about embracing life and making fun out of even the mundane. Today, I bring you this blog post in partnership with Say Aloe (a drink I'm very familiar with and have been picking up from my local Morrisons for some time now), I’m going to talk about how to bring adventure into every day, in the hopes that it inspires you too. I find we can get stuck in our routines and life can quickly pass us by, so I'm gonna talk about 8 ways to bring adventure into everyday life. I'm going to introduce these positive tips into my life and let's see if they enhance my wellbeing and to give me a lift. After all, can stepping out of our comfort zone really be a bad thing? Who doesn't want adventure every day? Come along for the ride with me and join the challenge!

Confidence Wobbles, Judgement, Happiness + Comparison

topshop floral denim

Today I wanted to talk about confidence. It's something I talk about quite a lot over here on my lil space on the internet, the place I call home but it's a recurring theme because it's such an important one. I usually talk about confidence from a physical sense, a blow dry and a spray tan instantly makes me feel like a queen but today, it's a different kinda confidence. As social media gets more and more prominent (let's be honest, it's a huge part of all of our lives), the question used to be: 'are magazines damaging to young people' and has changed to 'is social media damaging to young people?' We all have those moments where we don't feel our most confident and I genuinely feel as if we are our own worst critics. It's something I talk about on Instagram quite a lot. Today I want to talk through my confidence struggles, not just in how you look or body confidence but how you feel too. Yes, I can have a blow dry and it boosts my confidence by 110% but what about walking into events alone? Feeling nervous and petrified. What about social media stalking the new girl your ex is with and feeling like you want the ground to swallow you up? These are all conversations I've had with friends recently and this needs discussing.

Dressing Confidently + Comfortably This Summer - 2 Summer Must Haves

backless stripe jumpsuit
I was about to say ‘summer outfits are my favourite’ but then I remembered, I love autumn, spring and winter fashion too. Uh oh. I’ve always been someone who’s fully embraced every season (I can be the Easter bunny, a Christmas fairy or a summer holiday, just ask) but I have to say, this summer is probably one of the best wardrobe-wise when it comes to what's available on the high street. If you watch any of my videos you'll know I’ve bought some versatile essentials and, to be honest, that’s what I’m about, rather than pieces I will only wear once. I know bloggers get a lot of stick for doing too many hauls and that's why I try to ensure I only keep things I'm gonna wear over and over again. Okay, so we’re not actually officially in summer yet, but my wardrobe certainly is. Today I want to show you two of my current summer must-haves in collaboration with Stradivarius; versatile, day to night outfits that are easy and light to pack into your hand luggage or suitcase. Let’s brighten up the weather with some summer clothes…

Burn out is very real. Maybe you're doing too much at work, too much at the gym or, too much with your mind. I'm the worst when it comes to burning out, I run myself into the ground and then still think I need to go the gym?! Em, nothing is gonna happen if you miss a day of the gym or even a week. I know I have a 6am train but I still stay up working until 3am. I know nothing bad is going to happen if I just close my laptop and live my life but I still keep it wide open, tapping away. The worst part? I know I'm not the only one. I guess reading things like 'work hard in silence, let success be your noise' and I'll never forget reading someones Instagram that said 'whilst everyone else sleeps, we work', some days, these quotes can be motivating but others? They have the power to make you feel guilty for living and enjoying your life. They make me panic as if I'm not working hard enough. I think we live in such a work-obsessed world nowadays and I am guilty of this. Whilst this may sound like someone being a workaholic (I am), being a workaholic or gymaholic can lead to burn out which is basically exhaustion beyond belief. Today I want to talk about burn out and how to tackle it/ensure you don't end up burning out.

You Are Good Enough - Smashing Your Goals

Sadly we live in a world full of people who are quick to shoot others down or pick at anything they can. You only have to check Twitter for ten seconds to see this in action. I touched on this briefly with my experiences on a blog post about online hate.  The Royal Wedding was beautiful, it made my heart hurt and I'm still not over it but one look on social media and people still had something bad to say about such lovely occasion. I feel like the social media space has opened us up to both overwhelming amounts of love and, overwhelming amounts of hate, bitterness and general nastiness. The nastiness will be over anything or anyone. Today I wanted to write a blog post all about being good enough because even if you don’t feel it, you are good enough. I've spent years feeling 'not good enough' and if you're struggling at the moment with maybe the wrong crowd, not feeling good enough, negativity etc, I hope this may help you reach for the stars and smash your goals.

Meghan Markle Favourite Beauty Products + Her Wedding Day Make Up + Meghan Markle Wedding Dress Inspiration

Meghan markle favourite make up

The world is going crazy for Meghan Markle today and rightly so. It's the day of the Royal Wedding and personally, I couldn't be more excited. I've loved Meghan Markle's style and make up look for a long time so think today gives me the perfect excuse to talk to you guys about Meghan Markle's favourite beauty products and her wedding make up look. If you want to steal the classy Meghan Markle wedding dress look this might also help too as I've come up with some bardot style dupe dresses, inspired by Meghan Markle's style and I think you're gonna love them. I'm listing all the products Meghan Markle apparently loves and uses when it comes to beauty and skincare too so I hope this will be helpful. Let's talk about the Royal Wedding but mainly, Meghan Markle.

Judging Our Self Worth On Instagram Likes - Validation From Likes On Social Media?

white popper trousers
Shop the top / shop the trousers and similar here / hair by Tatty at Sassoon

We live in a funny old world, one day Instagram was a random app where I thought it was the best way to get a vintage filter on my pics, (seriously, I was editing photos on there and uploading them for months before I realised other people could see, social media fail). The next minute, I was seeing girls with millions of followers, beautiful bodies and seemingly perfect lives. Now, people have careers because of the app. Instagram has definitely always been a 'highlights reel' and if you read my Is Social Media Dangerous? post, you'll know I understand that. I understand there are always gonna be people in different or seemingly better situations than me and it's taken me a long while to stop comparing myself. I understand in my rational mind (the non-over thinking part of my brain) that Instagram is a place for aesthetically pleasing and seemingly perfect images but I also know that these images probably took 100 takes, with 10 filters and just because someone looks happy on the image, it certainly doesn't mean they're happy in themselves. So, today I want to talk about judging our self-worth on Instagram likes or, social media likes. I'm guilty of it, so many of my friends have become victims of it and this post has been brewing for a long time.

Jumpsuit / hair by Tatty at Sassoon

Last week, I was invited on an adventure with Schweppes and wow, how magical it was. I'm sure most of you know how much I adore country escapes. As much as New York has my heart, I'm a country girl deep down. I was brought up in the countryside so I guess it always feels like home. We were transported to Chichester in utter luxury for a whimsical 24 hours. Come along for the ride. This is in partnership with Schweppes.

8 Easy Tips To Boost Your Wellbeing

At the start of the year, I got a diary and started ticking off the number of times I work out per week. Why? Well, it keeps me on track and it keeps me motivated. I’ve always loved working out and I know how beneficial it is for my body and mind. As beneficial as this is, we don’t often talk about over-working out or re-centering our bodies and minds. Downtime is actually just as important as uptime and actually proper sleep, proper food and a de-stressed mind should come first. Read more. This is a collaboration with Tropicana.

Domestic Abuse - The Signs

topshop stripe jumpsuit

Something I try to talk about on my social channels is charities close to my heart. If you read any of my charity blog posts at Christmas, you’ll know that chronic illness, domestic abuse, and mental health are subjects that are incredibly close to my heart. Where charities are concerned, I think the key is to support and use your voice to talk about things close to your heart. Whilst I can't save the world, at least I can put my passion into something close to me. Something I felt compelled to talk about today is domestic abuse. It’s a tough topic but something incredibly close to my heart and it’s worthy of all the conversations surrounding it. If you follow me on Twitter you’ll probably know I support Behind Closed Doors, an incredible local charity offering support to victims of domestic abuse. Recently, I was sat in a coffee shop and overheard a heartbreaking story of domestic abuse. I felt compelled to write this blog post in the hopes that it will help someone. Domestic abuse can happen to anyone, your Mum, you, your sister, your brother, your best friend, a collegue, your grandad. It's a universal issue, it's an issue I want to talk about even more in the future. Please do share if you think this will help someone.

8 Ways To Energise Your Life

twinings energise tea

This is the last post of the #HereForYou series I’ve been working on with Twinings. So far I’ve spoken to my Nanna about how she makes me glow and chatted to my Mum over a cup of Superblends defence tea. For this final one, I’ve put on my yoga kit and am hanging out with Gab – someone who always energises me! We all lead incredibly busy lives and I'm often the friend who feels guilty for not seeing the people I love as much as I'd like to, thank the lord for Facetime and iMessage. If you read my blog post about how to balance work and relationships, you'll know that I do think face to face contact is really important with friends to show them that you are there for them. So often we forget to stop, put our phones down and enjoy the company of a close friend. Whether you see someone every day or every 6 months, it's the times you do see each other that count. That's why I've been making sure to surround myself with a handful of people I can genuinely trust, people that will be there for me through thick and thin. We energise, ignite and support each other. It's important to surround yourself with people who bring out the best in you. It only made sense then, in today’s post to talk about one special lady in particular who's here for me through the good, the bad and the ugly. She energises me which fits nicely into this post as it is all about energy and the new Twinings Superblends Energise tea. So, come grab a cuppa and let's talk about our top tips for energising your life, your workouts and more. Gab is here for me and now we can share those tips with you! This is in partnership with Twinings.

Updated Gym Routine + Circuit Training Ideas

los ángeles rooftop yoga
Shop my gym kit - leggings online here / top online here / shot at Loews Hollywood hotel /

Hello hello! Today, I thought it was about time I talked to you about my updated gym routine and no, sadly it doesn’t always include working out on the top of a helipad in Los Angeles (I wish - read my Instagram guide to Los Angeles if you missed that though). One of the questions I get asked quite frequently on Instagram and Twitter is ‘what do you do at the gym’ so I thought I’d write down an update of what I’ve actually been doing. If you follow me on the gram (@emshelx) check out #EmsBootcamp because I regularly upload fitness videos there and also on my YouTube I have a whole fitness section with workout videos. If you’ve read any of my health and fitness posts you’ll know I majorly struggle to get into a routine as I’m here, there and everywhere. I truly feel my best when I’m in a good routine with my exercise but that can’t always be the case for many of us. My biggest tip? Try and make working out part of your routine and lifestyle, so it feels weird not working out, for example, if you don't have a gym - work out in your hotel room, if you're stuck in meetings - walk between them rather than getting a tube! I'm slowly getting better at finding alternatives when I don't have a gym near me or quite frankly, the time to workout! Let’s look at my updated gym routine today and I'll answer some frequently asked questions too!

BEST INSTAGRAM SPOTS IN LOS ANGELES! An Instagram Guide To LA

helipad at Loews hollywood
Similar dresses online here /

Hello hello! Today I wanted to write up a little guide to visiting LA, but, in true millennial style, I thought I'd write up my guide whilst featuring the top Instagram worthy hot spots in LA. I'm gonna be totally honest with you and say, the first time I visited LA (read about my huge West Coast Roadtrip with route tips and plans if you missed it), I hated it. I got really bad vibes and just felt as if it was soulless and well, not for me. It was never on my list to re-visit but, you know what they say, you have to give things a second chance. I didn't think it would happen but on the way to a blogging bootcamp in Dallas we ended up staying in LA for a week. I'm well and truly converted now and finally get the 'LA hype'. I had the best trip to LA the second time around. I really do just think it's about knowing where you're going and having a good plan. I think having quite a lot of time in LA is good too, on our first trip, we were so rushed and this time around we had a solid week to properly get to grips with the city.  I prefer to write city guides when I've really got to grips with a place and I'm finally getting there with LA. Now the rambling is over, sit down, get cosy and come to Los Angeles with me as I talk you through the Instagram hot spots and my favourite places in LA.

EASY SEO TIPS TO MAKE BLOG + HOW TO MAKE WEBSITE TRAFFIC HIGHER

laptop on bed

Hello hello! As most of you will know if you read my 12 things I learnt at the RewardStyle blogging conference post (I haven't stopped talking about it, sorry!), I recently attended an amazing conference about blogging, influencer marketing, building your own brand and more. It was incredibly inspiring, motivating and I learnt so much in one weekend. It was like being back at University, although, lectures I actually wanted to attend and never graduate from. My head was literally bursting with new things and I had to make notes so I could report back. I really do believe that caring is sharing and I want us all to grow together, blowing someone else's candle out certainly won't make yours any brighter. I'm a strong believer in lifting each other up and working together. I was so glad so many of you read my notes from the blogging conferenceI went to an SEO lecture at the conference too so I thought it would be nice to share some easy SEO tips with you today to help you get more traffic to your website or blog. If you're new to blogging, start by reading my how to be an Instagrammer/blogger/start a blog post first then move onto this one. Here are some easy SEO tips that will help make your blog traffic higher. After all, blogs are still king, with algorithms being in control of our reach nowadays on most social platforms, it seems blogs are the only things we actually *own* and can control, without a social channel capping our reach, so I'd highly recommend continuing yours. Nurture your blog.  Get your notepad ready as I answer the question; how do I increase traffic to my website or blog?

Easy, Healthy Strawberry Ice Cream Recipe

I love Spring for so many reasons, cliche blogger blossom trees (no but seriously, they're beautiful), daffodils and tulips, new season’s fashion, lighter nights...I could go on.  Another thing I love is when I see the sunshine because I know it’s time for ice cream.  I'm sure you know I'm all about balance, in everything I do and whilst I don't mind having sugar here and there, I'm always looking for refined sugar-free alternatives so I can snack away. Hopefully, you've seen my healthy cookie recipe and my healthy pancakes recipe but what about ice cream? Real dairy ice cream is yummy and I will always treat myself in moderation but as a staple through the week to satisfy my craving for this wonderful food I make my own. I also know so many people can't drink dairy so this is a great alternative if you're craving some creamy ice cream. It’s as simple and healthy as making a smoothie and means you get to eat all your fruit in the form of a yummy ‘ice cream’ sundae. Trust me, this is probably the easiest recipe you will ever make...

Top Social Media, Brand Building And Influencer Tips: 12 Things I Learnt At The Reward Style Blogging Conference

I'm currently sat in a Scandi themed apartment in Dallas, feeling incredibly inspired. Life can be negative and I do find we live in a world full of people who would rather pull us down than lift us up. This weekend was different though. This weekend I spent three days at a ‘blogging boot camp’ let’s call it, with some global leaders in the world of influencer marketing, blogging and more. I wandered around a hotel where women empowered each other every single day rather than ripping each other to shreds. It's something I'd like to see more of and sadly, isn't something I'm used to. I sat in talks with some of the top global full-time bloggers and Instagrammers, as well as savvy business owners. I got all the top tips from industry experts and insiders and my brain is bursting with ideas and positivity. If you follow me on instagram @emshelx you’ll have probably seen some behind the scenes from my weekend at RSTheCon and I also tweeted out (@emshelx) some top tips I learnt. I'm fortunate to receive many emails on a weekly basis from people asking for blogging tips and tricks, because of this, I wrote a huge blog post with my top how to be a blogger / social media influencer tips. I thought it would be a good idea to write down 12 of the most important things I've taken away from the Reward Style blogging conference in the hopes that it helps you, if you are either a business owner, a freelancer or someone who wants to be a blogger/influencer or even if you just work in social media. I'm using the word influencer in this article but I know some prefer content creator, blogger, etc. But for ease, stick with me haha. A lot of this isn't just influencer specific, you can really take these tips on board for all lines of work. Disclaimer: this isn't me saying there is a wrong or a right way to run a business/build your brand/be a blogger/influencer but you may be able to take something incredible away from it, like I did. Get cosy, get your notepad out, it's time to get inspired. Here are 12 things I learnt from the Like To Know It influencer conference.

An Interview With My Mum

yellow afternoon teaI was super excited when Twinings asked me to partner with them on their #HereForYou campaign and to celebrate three different heroes in my life. It got me thinking, have you ever heard the phrase 'your smile could make someone’s day'? Well, it's something that's always stuck with me. Whether it's smiling at the bus driver, smiling at the man handing you a flyer or smiling and saying hello to the elderly man down the street. A little bit of kindness and love goes a long way. You never know what someone is going through. Just like a smile can go a long way, supporting someone can go a long way too. There are so many ways you can be there for someone, whether it's by physically standing by their side, or, even if you can't physically be there, dropping someone a text, liking their photo. It can make all the difference to a bad day, knowing that you have someone who is always there for you. We tend to focus on the negatives but our lives are so busy and often the good eggs and supportive people only get a fraction of the recognition they truly deserve. I always try and remember to say thank you to the people who are here for me (whether it's with a big old smile, saying thanks or sometimes even a gift) so that they know how much I value them. I was super excited when Twinings asked me to partner with them to celebrate three different heroes in my life. Last time I caught up with my nana who I someone who always makes me glow. The second of which is my Mum.

The Best Skincare + Beauty Products for Travel + Holidays

The Best Skincare + Beauty Products for Travel + Holidays
Hello hello! I’ve done so many blog posts about in-flight skincare but what about when you arrive at your destination? In an ideal world, I’d take my whole bathroom with me (hello Em the skincare lover) but that’s just not what I can do. I have to hold my hands up and say, I’m not a hand luggage kinda girl. I really try to use minis wherever I can but when the option is available and I can take a suitcase, I’ll jump at the chance. I’m writing this on a plane, my skin is feeling epic after a La Mer facial at World Duty Free and it got me thinking about epic hydrating and post-flight products to pack in your case. Let’s chat and see what’s new in the world of hydrating beauty products.

Styling Tips For A Wedding Guest - What To Wear To A Wedding

big round ray bans
If you've ever stopped by the occasionwear ideas section of my blog you'll know that I'm forever on the hunt for new occasionwear outfit ideas to add to my wishlist. I'm lucky to receive so many requests on a daily basis asking for ideas of what to wear to weddings, parties, the races, and other events. I'm honored that you guys trust me. I honestly think choosing what to wear as a guest to an event is the hardest thing, particularly if the theme is smart casual. Give me casual or give me smart but smart casual just confuses the life out of me. I'll never forget the struggle I had finding something to wear when I went to my first ever wedding. So, today I thought I'd write down my top tips for what to wear as a wedding guest this season. If you're struggling for what to wear as a wedding guest, this post is for you. Just make sure you continue to check the occasionwear ideas section of my blog for constant new additions as stock levels change and I add new stuff every other day. Let's go. Life Tips From My Grandma

Hello hello! Today, it's an exciting one. I've partnered with Twinings this year to catch up with three of my nearest and dearest over a cup of tea and chat to them about how they are here for me. Let's be honest, nothing is better than some time with your nearest and dearest and a cup of tea just makes that even better. My Nanna has always been the queen of beauty and the advice she gives has always been the best, not only with beauty. It was only right then that I conducted the first of my chats with my Nanna over a cup of Twinings Glow tea about confidence, beauty and glowing from the inside and out. Come and meet the lady I blame for my love of beauty, my Nanna.
