Hello hello and a very Happy New Year! So, today, one I’ve been incredibly excited to write: how to have a balanced 2018. It’s one of those posts I’ve been waiting to publish because I hate nothing more than people pushing diets and healthy eating on you as soon as Boxing Day comes around, no, we don’t care, we just want to enjoy the festive season without guilt. Now it’s January though, even I have started to feel like a stick of cheese (seriously, there’s only so much cheese/so many foods a girl can eat before she starts to feel as if she has turned into it). So I thought it would be nice to look at some of my top tips for a balanced 2018.

Okay okay, are you ready for a mammoth blog post? First and foremost, I am sorry this has taken so long to write, I knew it was gonna be a big one. After writing my 2017 honest reflections post, it felt wrong not to then write a blog post about my favourite and top beauty products in 2017. As most of you know by now, I love beauty, it really is one of my favourite things ever (it's a little embarrassing how overly excited I get about new beauty launches) so today I wanted to do a blog post all about the best beauty products of 2017 (and, things I'll be using this year too). As a beauty lover, I think it's important to celebrate the brands I've used the most throughout the year so let's do this.

Healthy, Refined Sugar Free, Three Ingredient Easy Banana Bread Recipe

Hey guys, hope you are so well today. If you follow me on Instagram (@emshelx) you may recognise this recipe over on my Insta stories. As much as I adore fashion, beauty, travel, fitness I also adore healthy baking. Healthy baking fits in nicely with my fitness routine/schedule and means I'm snacking on naughty tasting things minus all the sugar. I love sweet treats and don't believe in deprivation so do still eat them but it's nice to have tasty, sweet recipes without all the hidden sugar. We all lead busy lives and I'm really not someone who likes spending hours making complicated recipes, I prefer a quick 'boom-boom-bang' and then my recipe is done. I have had so many requests to share my healthy, refined sugar free, super easy banana bread recipe with you so I do hope you'll enjoy. Winter Pamper Tips

winter skincareThere's something about cold weather that makes me want to get extra cosy and spend more time pampering (or wrapped inside my duvet). When the colder months come around, I do change up my skincare and my pamper routine, I spend more time in the bath, less time tanning and more time snoozing (beauty sleep is incredibly important). I find I need more soothing, hydrating products for my skin in winter because my skin seriously struggles and gets incredibly dry with the change of climates. Today I'm going to talk to you about winter skin pampering and some of my top winter pampering tips. I invite you to join me for a cosy pamper day in the Lake District. 2017 Reflections - The Highs And The Lows


2017 started off with tears and an awful feeling of helplessness. We said goodbye to 2016 and hello to 2017 in A&E with him. We were confused, angry, upset and we wanted answers. Why did my healthy brother go from being an active young man to barely being able to move or use his mind? I guess that’s the thing with social media, you see the highs, but you don’t always see the lows. It’s something I struggle with because there are a lot of moments in my life, or things I have been through that I like to keep private, they're simply too personal, too raw and I don't feel like I can discuss them, not yet anyway. You’re damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t or on the web should I say, judged if you do and judged if you don't. If you read my blog post about dealing with online trolls, you'll know that 2017 was the year of being constantly judged, told you don’t do anything for the world, told you're a bad person and all the jazz, all by people we don't even know. I'm over that now and I think everyone else is, we soon realised that it's those people with the deep-rooted problems and not us. 2017 has been an epic year, full of ups, downs, the good and the bad and I wanted to write a blog post all about 2017, looking at the highs and lows and lessons learnt so sit back and enjoy the ride.
