Best products of 2012

Hello my loveliess, yaaay a make up related post after all the Christmas mayhem. I don't know about you, but I actually can't wait to get back to normality. I'm getting bored of left over fatty food and mess now. I spring cleaned my whole bedroom last night because I just want to start fresh in the new year - I have two bin bags full which have gone in the bin and another two for the charity shop. I feel so relieved that i've got rid of all of my unnecessary junk. I also cleaned out my cosmetics and toiletries, I literally have too much stuff and most of it is from years ago, so I decided to be ruthless and just chuck most of it in the bin (most of it has gone disgusting anyway!). I thought i'd do this post to showcase my favourite items throughout 2012, the items which I have used the most and the things that I just can't get enough of. I hope you enjoy it.

Hello everyone, so firstly I'd like to say a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to you all. As most of you know, it was my birthday on Saturday 22nd December so I will start by sharing some of my day/gifts with you. I had to work in the morning, boohoo so I was up very early serving customers, it felt horrible working on my Birthday but work was actually good that day as it was a great atmosphere. After work I went to Bibis Italian restaurant in Leeds with my family for a lovely lunch and some cheeky cocktails. After lunch I came home as I was exhausted, but I opened my door to two deliveries of the most beautiful flowers. I felt like the luckiest girl ever. Please excuse the state of me in the photographs, I'd fallen asleep in the car for over an hour on the way home and I'm looking quite dull  and flushed haha, oops.

Pre-Christmas HAUL. Winter purchases...

Hey everyone, I'm sorry for the delay in posting, working in retail over Christmas is taking it's toll, I was looking forward to finishing Uni so that I could actually unwind and destress but unfortunately retail is always calling and i've pretty much been working full time, this means I have to use what's left of my night to revise for the numerous exams that I have in January and not much time for blogging, I will sort this out do not fear as blogging comes first! So, when I did have a day off, I went shopping! I wanted to share some of my purchases with you because I got some quite exciting things!

Hello everyone, I am extremely excited to be writing this post as I was lucky enough to gain a press pass for this years CLOTHES SHOW LIVE. I had an absolutely incredible day, which you'll be aware of if you follow me on Twitter or Facebook. I've been going to Clothes Show for as long as I can remember but it just made it even more special having a press pass. I felt like a VIP for the day. Firstly i'm going to apologise for how photo heavy this post is, but it's difficult to explain what clothes show is like unless you've actually been before. Basically, it is like a humongous market with loads of different stages and sections. My favourite section is the beauty section, the clothing section is slightly jumblesaleish but there is more of a boutique clothing section with more expensive couture pieces which gets me every time. There's obviously a hair section, where you can see famous hair dressers do hair styles, talks and cuts and of course there are catwalks, fashion shows and models everywhere. I arrived at around 10.30, later than I wanted to but we got stuck in loads of traffic and it's miles from Leeds and getting up early isn't my best trait unfortunately. I was escorted by two lovely guards into the press office where they gave me my own press pass - how exciting.

Easy Christmas Gift Guide for Him and Her

Hello everyone, so this has been requested quite a lot and as I work in a retail store (AllSaints) I'm used to people coming in on Christmas eve like 'aaahh I haven't finished my Christmas shopping'. Well, that's me all over, I'm rubbish at being an organised Christmas shopper so I've decided to make a few little gift guides to help you all out - this took me ages as there were too many things to put on the list so i've done a select few. P.S My clothes show post will be coming very soon, it's just taking me a while!

Christmas gift guide for her:

1: All about Eyes - Wonder Perfect Mascara gift set: Clarins

What they say: 'Discover the must-have Clarins products to revive, refresh and illuminate your eyes. Wonder Perfect Mascara visibly lengthens and curls your lashes.'

This kit contains:
- Wonder Perfect Mascara 7ml (black)
- Instant Eye Make-Up Remover 30ml (free gift)
- Eye Revive Beauty Flash 3ml (free gift)
I asked for this set for Christmas because I use the Wonderperfect mascara and usually pay £20.00 just for that alone, the fact that you get two other things free which are actually large sizes, just makes this the perfectly afforable little package.

You can view the rest of Clarin's gift selection by clicking here as they've got some great value sets.
2: Party Survival kit: Korres - £18.00
What they say: 'The perfect way to regain energy after an all night party and take care of your face, body and breath with this wonderful kit!'

This set contains:
-Wild Rose 24 hour moisturising and brightening cream for normal and dry skin (10ml)
-Evening Primrose eye cream for the reduction of fine lines and dark circles spf 6 (5ml)
-Guava showergel (50ml)
-Milk Proteins 3 in 1 cleansing, toning and eye make-up removing emulsion (14ml)
-Lemon refreshing gum (10 pieces)
  • I just love everything from Korres, a brand which I haven't ever heard of actually but they do loads of sets in Harvey Nichols which range from around £10.00 for men and women, cheap but chic.

  • See Harvey Nichols christmas gift ideas here, there's such a good selection.

3: Juicy Tubes Christmas Set: Lancome - £18.50
I'm not personally a lipgloss person when it's a pinky colour but for girls who are, this gift is perfect as everyone loves Juicy Tubes by Lancome, at £18.50 as well this is a really cute gift where you get a lot for your money.

Gift Set Contains:

-Mini Juicy Tube - Fraise 17
- Mini Juicy Tube - Lychee 19
- Mini Juicy Tube - Electro 95
- Mini Juicy Tube - Pamplemousse 33

You can view Lancome's range of christmas gifts by clicking here.

4/5: Nip and Fab's 10 Years Younger Set: £20.00
What they say: 'This set contains three cult classics to help smooth and revitalise skin for a fabulous, more youthful complexion.'  They do a range of sets like this which range from around £15.00-£25.00 and they're all really unique gifts.

6: Radiant Make-Up Set: YSL- £48.00
What they say: 'This Radiant Make-Up Set contains a False Lash Effect Mascara, the original Touche Eclat Highlighter and a 15ml Forever Youth Liberator Serum. Estimated Value Worth: £78. Enjoy a saving of £30.'

The reason I've put this onto the list, even though it's a bit more expensive is because I saw it in Debenhams the other day reduced to only £40.00, I've wanted a YSL clutch which is £500 for as long as i can remember, and i've also wanted to touché éclat, for me, this gift is perfect as you could use the make up bag which comes with it as a clutch, or a make up bag and you get a full sized mascara AND the touche eclat. It's very good value for money. I need this in my life.

7: Juicy Couture's playful Viva La Juicy Gift Set - £46.00
What they say: 'contains a 50ml Eau de Parfum and a smoothing 125ml Body Lotion. Made of wild berries and mandarins, honeysuckle, gardenia, and jasmine along with amber, caramel, vanilla, sandalwood, and praline this fragrance is young and fun, but also extremely glamorous.' The reason I put this on the list is because it's pretty and playful but only £46.00 for the set, this is cheap in comparison to Versace's £60+ gift sets.

8: Marc Jacobs animal phone case - £40.00
Whilst this is on the expensive side at £40.00, theres so denying how unique and gorgeous it is. An incredible gift for any girl I think, especially Marc Jacobs fans.

9: Hypnôse Mascara christmas set: Lancome - £21.00
My Mum wears this mascara and every year I buy her the set because like the Clarins set, it costs around £18.00 for the mascara alone, so why not get it in a pretty box with two other products? It's the perfect gift set for anyone, as everyone likes wearing mascara.

Kit contains:
-Bi-Facil 30ml

- Le Crayon Khôl Mini Eyeliner

You can view Lancome's range of christmas gifts by clicking here.

10: Harvey Nichols gift set - £29.95.
What they say: 'A charming gift of two Harvey Nichols Mini Brut Rosé Champagne and a box of Harvey Nichols Pink Marc de Champagne Chocolate Truffles. A perfect match.'

This is expensive but it looks so beautiful, they do a range of hampers/gift sets like this, or do what I do every year and go into the food hall, choose some bits and then buy the Harvey Nichols gift box and paper for them, then you can make your own hamper at your price range.

There were too many sites/shops for me to choose from, some other places which do a good range of gifts for girls include:
Topshop, RiverIsland, Urban Outfitters, Joy and BodyShop.

Christmas gift guide for him:

1: Bleu De Chanel perfume - £45+

Please just smell this perfume, I swear any man who wears this is worthy of marriage. It is the single most incredible smelling after shave in the world. Smell it, I dare you to disagree... If i had a boyfriend, i'd want this to be 'his' smell.

2: Vivienne Westwood scarf - Range from £50 onwards

I think men just look nice in scarves, there are so many nice ones around, including AllSaints - they come in yummy gift boxes, Ralph Lauren and V.W. I think a designer scarf makes a really nice gift and to be honest, they're not 'that' expensive...

3: ALCOHOL. £16.00

What they say: ' Celebrate the legendary founder of Jack Daniel's with this Jack Daniel's Safe, two Jack Daniel's No.7 Whiskey bottles (5ml each), Jack Daniel's branded glass and spirit measure.
Jack Daniels Safe Tin Gift Set'

This Jack Daniels set is great for guys and it's only £16.00, Boots, Debenhams and BHS all do similar sets starting at around £5.00, you can get Guiness, Smirnoff, Baileys and more, these are a nice easy gift for anyone really.

4: Korres Men's Christmas Kit - £15.00

What they say: 'A collection of male grooming essentials in a gift box, ideal for a short escape, for business or pleasure. It contains a rich heady shave cream that helps ensure a deep and comfortable shave. Being pH-balanced it prevents skin roughness. The light after shave balm with ginseng, marigold, active aloe and provitamin B5 helps nourish and soothe irritated skin. Enriched with nutrients, it help improves skin tone and firmness. Rich in vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc and antioxidant enzymes, Korres shower gels provide long-lasting hydration. The toning shampoo restores energy to scalp skin cells, thus regenerating fragile hair, simultaneously reducing the rate of splitting.'

For a man who likes to groom, this is a really easy gift, it looks nice, it smells nice and you get a lot for your money. This is available from Harvey Nichols and they do a range of these sets by Korres.

5: L'Homme Gift Set - YSL - £38.99 (60ml)+

  • What they say: 'A sensual and magnetic fragrance, l'Homme Yves Saint Laurent is offered in a luxurious silver-grey hammered ribbon print giftset. This contains a 60ml l'Homme Eau de Toilette, a 50ml Shower Gel and a 50ml After-Shave Balm.'
Depending on where you get it from, this product is really well priced for such a designer gift set.

6: All Saints Rifle Boxer set - £35.00

What they say: 'Pack of three mens boxer shorts in black, grey marl and charcoal. The Rifle Boxers feature a two button front fly and 3.5cm elasticated waistband with a Ramskull branded tab to the back. This style also includes a front mini pocket detail and an AllSaints stamp to the front left of the boxer.
The Rifle Boxers are presented in an exclusive AllSaints box, making them a perfect gift this season.'
I think boxers are an easy gift, especially when they come in a nice box, I also love Calvin Klein ones and Diesel but they tend to be a lot more expensive, these AllSaints ones are nicer and cheaper.

7: Grooming Essentials - ClarinsMen Collection - £38.00

What they say: 'The perfect beginner's skin care kit for men.'

This kit contains:
- ClarinsMen Super Moisture Balm 50ml

- ClarinsMen Active Face Wash 125ml
- ClarinsMen Smooth Shave 50ml
- ClarinsMen Anti-Fatigue Eye Serum 10ml
- Fatigue Fighter 5ml
Presented in a handy ClarinsMen wash bag

I just think this is an easy gift at a mid range price for someone into grooming, most guys use a wash bag and shaving creme so I suppose it'd come in handy.
8: Calvin Klein two set boxers: Debenhams - were £48.00 now £28.00.

At £28.00 these boxers are a steal and such an easy gift.

9: Teds Grooming Room Razor Quest: Ted Baker - £18.00
What they say: 'A flawless shave is essential, so enlist the services of Ted’s Razor Quest. With a cooling shave gel, specially designed brush and handy face cloth, you’ll be smoother than a soldier on leave.' This is available on the 3 for 2 offer at Boots.
Click here to see grooming gifts for men at Boots

My advice when men are concerned is if in doubt, buy perfume or an Xbox game. FIFA usually goes down well.
I hope this gift guide comes to use for you all.
Lots of love, Em

Aaah so if you're a regular reader of my blog you will realise that I swear by Xen-Tan, I tell everyone that it is the ultimate tan, there is no better on the market,  I can promise you that, 100%. I bet you're thinking... hm right sure how would you know? I think i've probably tried every other tan out there, it's taken me years to find such an incredible tan and Xen-Tan deliver, over and over again - they are the most incredible brand that I have ever used. Not only are their products good, as a company they are literally the most genuine people in the world, I've met them at a few blogger events and they aren't a company who solely care about making money, their customers always come first. They are genuine people who want to make us feel happy in our skin. Xen-Tan is for anyone, they put so much care into their unique tanning products in order to develop an incredible tan which is NEVER orange, and never smells bad. Every single time I wear Xen-Tan, I get compliment after compliment, it doesn't even count as fake tan, it looks so natural. How can fake tan even look so natural? probably because they put so much time and effort into making their products THE best on the market, Xen-Tan are an example to all of us, hard work and perseverance pays off. I honestly don't think that this brand gets the credit that they deserve and that's why all I do is talk about them, I want every girl and even boys to try their products and try and tell me that they don't work because so far, every single person who's bought it has confirmed to me that the tan is absolutely incredible, the best. I just love everything about Xen-Tan.

So that's me ranting about my genuine love for Xen-Tan, now onto their new tan. So yeah, as you can imagine, I had a fan girl moment when I found out that they had new tan out. Most girls get excited over One Direction, I get more excited over Xen-Tan's new products. Today I am reviewing the Moroccan oil tan. Now we all know that Moroccan oil is incredible for the hair, so why not put it on our bodies too? Only Xen-Tan would think of this first. The great thing about this tan is that it gives an instant colour, do not fear when you put it onto your skin because it does look really dark, but the minute you rub it in, you'll see that it's the most natural sun kissed colour ever. Oh and the smell, i've always loved Xen-Tan products because they just smell delicious, they smell too good.

So, i'm guessing you'll want to see the colour, you can see my arm at the top looks really quite dark as I put quite a lot on, however, once you wash it off after three hours, the colour guide will wash off and it won't be as dark, so I always put extra on before I go to bed so that I can wash it off and still have a really dark colour. Don't even worry if it isn't all fully rubbed in, I promise you when you wash it off you will get a streak free finish, when I go to bed I always leave it in a bit of a mess because I'm always so tired, but I wake up and wash it off and it looks immaculate every time. The only way I can prove this to you is if you try it, Ahhh I love this brand.

As you can see, the colour above is just natural, but it is buildable, it's perfect for any skin and anyone, even my mum wears it and she's never worn fake tan before in her life. It glides on, it is so easy to apply and it's good for your skin as it's paraben free.
I just can't thank Xen-Tan enough for introducing their amazing tan into my life.

If you've missed my other posts about Xen-Tan you can watch my videos below:

PS. I'm going to Clothes Show Live tomorrow as press, I cannot wait to tell you all about it.

Lots of love,

Dior Forever Flawless Perfection Foundation and Flawless Perfection Powder review

Hello everyone, yay so excited that I've got some new exciting beauty products to talk to you all about. Yipee so I got paid the other day and I wanted to make myself feel better about the masses of work that i've got to do so I decided to treat myself to some high end beauty products. I've only ever had a lipgloss from Dior but I know that everyone swears by their foundations so I thought i'd give it a go. I went to the counter in Debenhams and to my surprise, there was 15% off everything, which is a complete bonus as the products are on the expensive side. The lady was lovely and sat me down to match my foundation, I explained that I wanted a medium coverage, something that I could build but also something that has a matte finish as I hate shiny foundations. She showed me a few different colours on my hand and asked me to choose which tone looks most like the foundation that I usually wear, I chose the one with the yellow underbase rather than a pinky underbase as I wear fake tan so I like my foundation to be warm. So, what did I leave the store with...

Aaah so I ended up getting a foundation and a powder as well, because with 15% off I just thought why not, also I just really wanted to get some stuff to test out for my readers, yes you, reading now, I love you! I've got to say, the foundation is absolutely perfect. It was meant to be £31.00 and with 15% this made it quite reasonable, my foundation from MAC is £21.00 so it will be interesting to see how long this lasts, I've got to say though that I don't use half as much of this foundation, you only need like two pumps for a really good coverage. The actual case and packaging itself is absolutely gorgeous, it just looks amazing in my make up bag, I think i'm addicted.  This is called the 'flawless perfection fusion wear make up' and it has an SPF of 25 so it protects your skin from the elements, this is important in the winter when the sun is lower and therefore, theres a lot of UV rays which hit your skin and age you, it's really important to have SPF in your foundation.

The powder is equally as gorgeous, I absolutely love the compact case that it comes in, it's a deep blue colour and says DIOR on it, I sometimes think DIOR can be quite tacky, but this is easily the most classy compact that i've ever seen. In terms of the powder itself, I will have to use it more before I can give you an honest opinion on this product. I am disappointed though because this product is £36.00, which is more expensive than the foundation (i'm not sure why an accessory to foundation should be more expensive than the base itself!?) but I went for it anyway because I really wanted to trial it for you girls. When I opened it I expected that you would get a lot more in the case than I did, I wish that half of it wasn't taken up by a make up sponge which is pointless as I will use a make up brush to apply it. I love the packaging of this product though and I think the woman said it is only around £21.00 to replace the powder, you just keep the same compact, so that makes it the same price as MAC.

You can see the packaging above, just two beautiful products, even the bag that the items came in is to die for. Dior products would make extremely beautiful gifts for any make up lover. I want to try the whole collection. This is my first ever shot at really high end make up products and I am really impressed. A full review of the items will be coming very soon.

Have you used any DIOR products? Do you want to?
Lots of love, Em xxx

All things MARC JACOBS, a huge obsession

Hello lovelies, so I thought i'd discuss something quickly with you that I haven't discussed before, i'm not sure how i've been writing this blog for a fair few months now and not even mentioned my complete-utter and ridiculously crazy obsession with anything Marc Jacobs. I wish I could say that this was a sponsored post and that Mr Jacobs will be rewarding me for posting about his products with lots of yummy products sent to my door, but uerrrh, that couldn't be any less true. I love Marc Jacobs, anyone who knows me knows this, I think it is borderline OCD, It's a bit like my Victoria's Secret obsession. I have the headphones, the laptop case, the phone case, the earrings, the watch... you name it, Marc Jacob's packaging engulfs my bedroom... his logo is the background on my phone, it's just not healthy. Every time Christmas and Birthday comes around (which unfortunately for me, is only once a year as I was born three days before Christmas, boo) Marc Jacobs items are always on the top of my list. I'm always like, literally, anything from Marc Jacobs will do.

I have actually found myself on the Harvey Nichols and the Selfridges sites at ridiculous hours just browsing over his items. Reading back over what i've just written makes me sound quite spoilt. but I don't think his items are THAT expensive... this is one of the reasons why I love Marc Jacobs so much, the fact that it isn't THAT expensive. Okay, so yeah it's not like Primark cheap or even Topshop cheap (Topshop is not cheap, I don't care what anyone says, it is no longer a store which sells clothes at 'high street' prices, pft) but anyway, it's cheap when you compare it to the likes of Gucci and YSL and other fabulous brands that I see myself lusting after every time I walk into Selfridges or Harvey Nichols. Mr Jacobs allows you to have some designer in your life, without the 'I have to be a WAG to afford this' price tag. Parfait.

Basically I got carried away looking at his items and decided to make a collage of my favourite items so that I could show you all, in the hopes that I can get someone else just as hooked and then maybe we can make friends haha. I also just wanted to share how bladdy beautiful they are with you. The photos really do the items no justice, the black clutch in the middle is probably the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen, however at £290.00 I think i'd be crying all the way to the bank. But, if you compare this to YSL's famous clutches which are at least £500, this MJ is actually quite the bargain (hmeeee as Gaz from Geordie Shore would say). I find that his jewlery isn't that pricey though, it's around £40.00 for earings, and up to around £85 for bracelets. For a really special Christmas present, this is okay. I think so anyway. This season he seems to be all about animals, I am slightly in love with his Owl, Zebra and other animal phone cases that he's designed, you can even get matching Ipad cases and USB sticks. I don't even own an IPad yet i've found myself asking for the case for Christmas... just because it's adorable. This man is a genius, he honestly thinks of everything.

So there we have it, one girl who is well and truly besotted by anything Marc Jacobs, I really hope that on Christmas day I can report to you all that yes, I now have more MJ to add to my collection. Tell me that I am not alone in this obsession?  Okay so I either need to win the lottery or take some jewellery to one of those places where you can get cash for gold in order to make some money.  Hopefully that'll pay for a few more goodies from Marc Jacobs.  Hopefully that'll pay for a few more goodies from Marc Jacobs.
Hooray for Marc Jacobs, please keep your prices reasonable and your products vibrant and different.Yay.

And, to make your Christmas a little bit sweeter, I have been told by my incredible sponsors over at HUSHUSH (make sure you check them out here) that they're having a designer bag sale this week, their designer bags collection has up to 40% off. Lucky for us, it features my beloved Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, Lanvin and Fendi - what more could you ask for.  The sale even includes Lanvin's signature 'Happy' bag, Stella's coveted 'Falabella' style and of course, the essential quilted Marc Jacobs' clutches. You can check out the sale here - be quick.

Lots of love, Em x x x P.S, I love hearing your thoughts on my blog, YouTube and posts so make sure you tweet me or comment below yay thank you x
