Tis the season for advent calendars, yes, really, love it or hate it, they’re back. You may think I'm crazy for blogging about beauty advent calendars in October but many of them are already sold out, the world just goes wild for beauty advent calendars. Now, I'm a big believer in sprinkling glitter wherever you go when the festive season comes around and we all have our special traditions; for some that may be having a mince pie every day until Christmas, for others, that may be putting Christmas decorations everywhere, for some, that may be opening the door of a shiny advent calendar every day in December. I'm personally a sucker for advent calendars, I'm a chocolate and beauty kinda advent calendar girl and don't like to get rid of the traditional advent calendar, so I guess I'll have one of each. -  a beauty advent calendar and a chocolate one. SO many brands now do beauty advent calendars so I thought I would put together a blog post of the top 10 beauty advent calendars to buy this Christmas.

liberty London advent calendar

Liberty London Advent Calendar: For the premium beauty lover - £215 - Starting with a bang, we have the Liberty London advent calendar, this ranks as the most popular beauty advent calendar pretty much every year and I can see why - and why it sells out every year and it's definitely down to the level of brands inside. The Liberty London advent calendar contains some of the most sought after products from the Liberty London beauty hall and has 25 cute little print drawers. It's worth over £789 *apparently*. It includes premium brands such as Diptyque, Hourglass and Le Labo, plus make up must haves too... great because you get a mixture of make up and skincare. Now, I'm not sure where they get the £789 price tag from as some of the items are quite small, however, some of them are reasonably sizes at 25ml so yes you are paying for the brand name and I'd be interested to add up each product and see if it actually does come out at that price. It's a great opportunity to try new, premium brands though and they'll go a little further than free shop samples as they're a little bigger - plus some of these brands are just magical and you probably wouldn't get free shop samples of them. If you're not particularly loyal to one brand but know you love luxury beauty, this is a great chance to try some new products from an array of different brands, it would be a magical gift too.

glossy box advent calendar

Glossybox Advent Calendar: For the ‘fancy a bit of everything’ beauty lover - £80 for subscribers, £99 for non-subscribers - Every year I think Glossybox are the most underrated when it comes to their advent calendar, not only is it one of the prettiest on the market *classy, beautiful pink box of heavenly delights* but it's also really not that badly priced considering in previous years, I got a fair few full sized items inside and they were all from really good, premium brands too. The design is perfect to keep after too to store make up in. I love the idea behind this years advent calendar too, 'reasons to be happy' with 25 gifts worth over £390 from brands including Fenty Beauty, Iconic London and Huda Beauty. I love Huda Beauty so much I'd argue it's worth it alone just for that, haha. Now I do believe the Glossybox is worth £390 as last year at least they did put a lot of full sized in there.

Molton Brown Advent Calendar: For the luxury, pampering beauty lover - £175 - You can watch my full review of the Molton Brown Advent Calendar above for my first impressions but it's one I love every single year. I love using the goodies as toiletries throughout the year in my travel bag and also think they double up as lovely hotel-like gifts to put on the guest bed in my home. This year it felt like it came with less candles than previous years, but it did include fragrance, gorgeous Christmas baubles and more. I am always a sucker for Molton Brown, their products are utterly divine and there really is a scent for everyone, I am always blown away by how many different ranges and scents they get to fit into their advent calendar, it means you can really try most of the range and I think this is lovely and unisex too so you could share it with your other half, if you're kind enough. Molton Brown is too good to share. This is priced at £175, one of the more premium on the market but you get what you pay for with Molton Brown, it's worth £259 which is probably true considering the fragrances. The sizes are great, with a fair few 50mls in there, I am really impressed.

the body shop advent calendars

The Body Shop Advent Calendar: For the don’t fix what aint broken beauty lover - price varies  - For me, The Body Shop were the originals when it came to beauty advent calendars. I think The Body Shop was one of the first beauty advent calendars I ever bought and I actually remember seeing people running out of stores with them under their arms as they'd sell out so quickly. I always love that they do a great range of prices and they include full sized items too. My favourite item from The Body Shop is their body butter and I remember getting a fair few of those inside last year too. I just think The Body Shop can do no wrong, they really are a 'don't fix what aint broken' kinda brand, they don't need to do anything different as they are always perfect! Their advent calendars always feature such a wide array of products from their collections too which means you can really try so many new bits or old favourites.

L’Occitane Hand Illustrated Reusable Advent Calendar: For the eco-friendly pamper lover -  £160 - My favourite's at L'Occitane always blow me away with their advent calendars and actually their whole Christmas collection, I ensure I get it for my Mum and Grandma every single year without fail... this year I am obsessed with their limited edition advent calendar, it is pretty unique... I actually squealed when I saw it - designed by UK Illustrator Isla Simpson, the mission was simple, to create a hand illustrated sustainable advent calendar, that wouldn’t be thrown away at the end of the season but enjoyed for many Christmas seasons to come. This reminds me of my childhood where Mum would always refill a little felt calendar every year, I’d always make sure there was extra in my birthday, 22nd December. The L’Occitane advent calendar is made from 100% recycled cotton and contains some of L'Occitane's most sought after products including the Almond Shower Oil, Shea Butter Hand Cream and the coveted Divine Cream. Three of my ultimate favourites, anything Almond from them is just my holy grail. Inside each pocket you will find a full sized or luxury travel sized product and I feel like this is the perfect Winter pamper gift that just keeps on giving. I love you L'Occitane!

Roccabox Beauty Advent Calendar: For the ‘likes to try something new’ beauty lover - £72 - If you're wanting to support a local business this advent, go for the Roccabox Beauty advent calendar. Roccabox is owned by one of my wonderful friends from Yorkshire and the brand has gone from strength to strength over the years, by day it's a beauty subscription box (featuring some of the best beauty brands including St Tropez and Murad to name a few - be sure to subscribe) and by December, they're doing their first ever Christmas advent calendar eek! This is huge for Roccabox, their first ever advent calendar. Roccabox haven't messed around either, including many full sized items from brands such as Murad, Sunday Riley, Nails Inc and Eyeko - think skincare, pampering and beauty from top brands. If you couldn't get your hands on the Glossybox advent calendar because it sold out, Roccabox is definitely for you! I'm excited even just by the packaging alone!

kiehls advent calendar
Kiehl's Advent Calendar: For the brand loyal beauty lover - £89 - You can read my full review of the Kiehls advent calendar. Inside 24 doors, are cute little boxes, see it as a mini gift to yourself every day, giving skincare lovers the opportunity to try all of Kiehl's best sellers and trust me, they're best sellers for a reason.  The RRP of the Kiehl's advent calendar is £89 and it includes many of their hero products, giving you the chance to try the whole range... including Crème de Corps (the best moisturiser, seriously!),  Kiehl's famous Midnight Recovery Concentrate (a hero skin oil) and many more. I just love that you really get the chance to try all Kiehl's hero products with this, it really is a must for any skincare lovers. This year is Kiehl's greenest holiday campaign to date too, focusing on less waste and sustainability, with fully recyclable gift boxes and the advent calendars are now made with zero plastics, as well as 100% previously recycled paper... plus you can take the minis back to Kiehl's stores when they are empty! I love you Kiehl's

space nk advent calendar
Space NK Advent Calendar:For the premium brand lover beauty lover -  £195 - The Space NK Advent calendar is another one that sells out every single year, literally in October... I just saw it recently got re-stocked but not for long and by the time I hit publish, this will probably be sold out again. Space NK are famous for their advent calendar, every year people rave about them and go wild, I totally get it - Space NK stock the BEST, ultimate beauty brands so a bit like Liberty London, of course people are going to go wild. I love Space NK's advent calendar because you get such a wide range of products, from pampering to skincare, behind 24 doors, you find £630 worth of beauty products and for an added bit of sparkle, poetry by Charly Cox guides you through each of the products too. I think it probably is actually worth that much with SO many full sized products this year. This year the Space NK advent calendar is designed like a book: 'the Space NK Beauty Anthology' which I think is genius and magical. Inside? Products from some of my absolute hero brands such as Jo Loves, Sol De Janeiro, Kate Somerville, Fresh, Laura Mercier, Nars, Hourglass, Living Proof, Ren Skincare and even Charlotte Tilbury! I think Space NK is the absolute best beauty advent calendar this year for range and quality of brands, plus, so many products this year are full size! This is a truly special gift and any beauty lover knows it's a goodie. I can see why this keeps selling out, the perfect chance to try SO many holy grail products.

Charlotte Tilbury Bejewelled Chest Advent Calendar: For the make up beauty lover - £150 - I always love seeing a Charlotte Tilbury beauty advent calendar every year, I think don't think it's half as good as any of the others (Tilbury advent calendars are never traditional 24/25 doors with numbers on) but because I like to see her opulent take on a festive calendar. I always think she takes her own spin on advent and instead, expect a box of delights rather than anything traditional. This year it's the bejewelled chest, featuring some full sized and some minis, including make up and skincare. You get a full sized lipstick, a full sized Hollywood Beauty Wand and a full sized eye shadow, so you have to weigh up if the price is worth it, as with the others you get at least 24 gifts, here you get only 11. I just think if you are someone that adores Charlotte Tilbury, this is lovely and the chest is something you could keep for jewellery etc. It's definitely designed for Tilbury addicts!
