Vitamin C in skincare has been discussed a lot over the last few years, with people wondering what the benefits of vitamin C in skincare actually are and wondering if you need to add vitamin C to your skincare routine and if you do, how should you add vitamin C into your skincare routine? The first vitamin C skincare product I used was by Kiehl's (the Kiehl's Vitamin C powerful strength line reducing concentrate) and to be honest, I didn't really understand what vitamin C was or why I was putting it on my face. I then started using a gentle, day cream, with a lower % of vitamin C by Beautypie (the Superdose Vitamin C Oxygen Boosting Moisturiser) which actually really gets on with my skin. That's as far as my vitamin C trials have gone, so you could say I have dipped my toes into the water. I heard a skincare expert say that at my age (teens and twenties) I should be wearing Vitamin C every single day and also take that into my 30's (as well as SPF but that's another blog post topic) so since then, I've made it my mission to get vitamin C onto my face and add it into my skincare routine. On todays blog post I'm going to be discussing the brand new Elizabeth Arden Vitamin C Ceramide Capsules which may just take my Vitamin C skincare to the next level and I guess look into the benefits of using Vitamin C in your skincare routine. Get comfy, it's time for a review of Elizabeth Arden's Vitamin C Capsules.
Elizabeth Arden Vitamin C Ceramide Capsules Review

I'm not a skincare expert but I like to do my research, my reading, my watching and I really am passionate about it. You might be wondering, do I need Vitamin C in my skincare? From what I've read, Vitamin C is great if your skin has suffered stress from things like partying, drinking, late nights, smoking (I've never smoked but I have definitely had far too many late nights!) and it can help to give antioxidant protection, I know that people suggest it helps to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, whilst helping to improve the feel of the skins texture, Vitamin C is also meant to make the skin look radiant too and we do love a glow.

Let's take a look at the Elizabeth Arden Vitamin C Ceramide Capsules Radiance Renewal Serum which are newly launched. I've been using Elizabeth Arden's Retinol capsules since the day they launched, I use one capsule before bed and I am hooked, but what about during the day? Apparently Vitamin C is the answer for me if I'm wanting bright, even-toned skin.

Let's wind it back, Elizabeth Arden first designed Ceramide capsules back in 1990 (I wasn't even born), and honestly, every day I am learning about skincare. I remember my Mum telling me about these years ago and saying people were hooked (and still are) on these apparent 'line erasing' night time serums which come in handy little capsules so I am over the moon to see the new Vitamin C capsules have launched.

Elizabeth Arden have now combined the two, the new Vitamin C Ceramide Capsules combines these two powerhouse ingredients in one small but mighty capsule (the perfect amount for your face), Vitamin C for it's brightening superpowers and Ceramides, to prolong the skins youthful glow.

Elizabeth Arden Vitamin C Capsules
My first question was of course, why is it in the capsules? Apart from them being perfect for travel (pop as many as you need in your little case and use them daily on your skin), what are the benefits of skincare capsules or in fact encapsulating Vitamin C versus bottled Vitamin C serums?

Now for the science part. The Vitamin C is encapsulated in Elizabeth Arden's Vitamin C capsules because Vitamin C is very volatile but by being encapsulated it’s as fresh as it can be when it hits the skin. Elizabeth Arden's Vitamin C capsules are 178x more potent than traditional Vitamin C for brighter, even-toned skin. The capsules are oil soluble meaning it can penetrate better into the skin, and using oil means it goes deep into the skin for max benefit rather than just sitting on the top. By using oil soluble Vitamin C rather than traditional water soluble Vitamin C, this compliments the skins moisture barrier and optimises delivery to the skins surface as the oil in our skin is attracted to oil soluable Vitamin C. The potency along with the targeted delivery means the Vitamin C is better able to get to where it needs to go on the face.

Why not just put Vitamin C inside the capsules? Apparently ceramides give you another benefit as Vitamin C can be quite drying for the skin. By putting Vitamin C + Ceramides together, the new capsule harnesses the power of ultra-stable, ultra-potent Vitamin C to deliver optimal skin brightening but also help nourish and strengthen the skins natural moisture barrier for smoother skin to prolong it's glow. Together, the two ingredients compliment each other to create a fusion of results to help brighten fight hyper-pigmentation and protect the skin from radical free damage.

I read quite a lot of things asking if the Elizabeth Arden capsules are biodegradable but they are fully bio-degradable capsules.

Benefits of Elizabeth Arden Vitamin C Capsules:

- Visibly brighten the skin and diminish dullness, improving radiance and glow
- Even skin tone by minimising the look of dark spots and discolouration
- Protect against age-accelerating, free radicals that can lead to premature ageing signs
- Supports the skins natural collagen and elastin matrix for firmer skin

Ingredients in Elizabeth Arden Vitamin C Capsules:

- Vitamin C - to brighten, visibly fight dullness and age-accelerating free radicals
- Ceramides 2 & 3 - to help protect the skin from moisture loss and prolong the skins glow
- Clary Sage - to help soothe the skin from the effects of environmental aggressors and free radicals
- Avocado, sunflower seed and olive oils - impart skin with moisturising and environmental aggressors and free radicals

It's the results that always blow me away, I have only been using these for a few days so can only comment on how my skin feels the morning after (glowing and soft) but not actually the long-term benefits yet. Elizabeth Arden however do talk about their results after an 8 week trial and such high percentages of women showed visibly brighter skin, clinical improvements in skin clarity, the overall look of skin and more which is incredibly impressive. It comes as no surprise to me as I have trusted Elizabeth Arden for years so never expected anything less from them.

To conclude: The Elizabeth Arden Vitamin C capsules are the easiest thing to use (and perfect for travel, as you can just take as many capsules away as you need with you), simply open slowly and squeeze drops onto the palm of your hand and then apply to your face, I personally like to use this in the morning. You can use this alone or add to a moisturiser if you wanted to but you don't really need to. I am a sucker for mixing things together though. They might be small, but they're mighty! I can't wait to continue using these every morning and see the results, fingers crossed they're as good results on me as their studies show on other women!

The Vitamin C Capsules launched on September 9th and you can buy them online here x60 capsules or here x30 capsules.
