Jo Malone Myrrh & Tonka Cologne Intense, Body Creme And Candle Review

Jo Malone Myrrh and Tonka Collection

Gifted items and Ad affiliate links used - Hey guys, hope you're so well. I'm sure most of you know I adore Jo Malone (who doesn't?), I'm literally their biggest fan. Over the last few years I've built up a pretty beautiful collection of Jo Malone products in my home. For me, alongside Molton Brown and Diptyque (big lover of both too), Jo Malone is one of the best luxury fragrance and body brands. I love gifting myself with it and gifting others too and let's be honest, no bath is complete without some Jo Malone luxury. Today I wanted to discuss the two new additions to the Myrrh and Tonka collection, one of my favourite scents.
Jo Malone cologne intense

I'm massively into my intense scents, I find them so sensual and more importantly, long lasting. Particularly in winter, I love a sensual scent, whereas in summer I'll often opt for something a little more refreshing (Lime Basil and Madarin is a great Jo Malone summer scent and not forgetting English Pear and Freesia for spring). The Myrrh and Tonka Cologne Intense is made with hand-harvested Namibian Myrrh tree sap and is accentuated by notes of almond, vanilla and tonka bean. As always with Jo Malone, they use the highest quality ingredients to ensure their products ooze luxury. I think Myrrh and Tonka is the perfect unisex fragrance and it is pretty addictive. For me, it's a sexy, date night scent. My boyfriend is currently addicted (years on) to Orange Bitters which is also worth checking out for an incredible unisex scent. I think he was pretty disappointed that I didn't put any under the tree for him this year but I'm happy it's finally back in stock.

Jo Malone myrrh and Tonka candle

The Myrrh and Tonka Cologne launched quite some time ago, but today Jo Malone announced the launch of Myrrh and Tonka Cologne Intense in their Home Candle and Body Creme collection. Even though my Jo Malone collection is pretty big, I'm sure this is my first ever Cologne Intense home candle from the brand and I'm incredibly excited. Burn time is approximately 45 hours on these 200g candles.  For me, lighting a candle and running a hot bath is part of my down time and relaxation ritual, and this is the perfect winter scent as it's so warming. I feel instantly relaxed when I light a candle, whether it's flickering away whilst I'm cooking or scenting the room whilst I'm in the bath and this year, I'm planning on making time for more downtime in order to relax myself. Read: 10 ways to make 2019 the bestIf you read my New Years thoughts blog post, you'll also know I want to put more time into moisturising this year and caring for my body and this luxurious body creme is definitely a good place to start.

Jo malone Myrrh and tonka

A few years ago, I did a personalised fragrance testing class with Jo Malone, they taught me the art of layering Jo Malone scents to make them personalised to you. Jo Malone fragrances can be worn alone or layered and they are all designed to be unisex. Myrrh & Tonka is smooth, creamy, warm and sensuous when layered with another scent. I'm yet to try the newest scent (another Jo scent on my list) but Jo Malone recommend moisturising with the new Myrrh and Tonka Body Creme, then spritzing the Bronze Wood and Leather Cologne intense on top for an oriental, woody scent. If you're after more of a rose scent, they recommend showering with Velvet Rose and Oud Shower Oil then spritzing a layer of Myrrh and Tonka Cologne over the top. I love how versatile Jo Malone fragrances are, a lot of people don't know that you're meant to moisturise first and then layer with a fragrance to create different combinations.

I'm often asked which my favourite Jo Malone products are and it's a tough one because I think scents change based on memories, seasons and occasions and I'm genuinely open to any scents. I personally try and choose a new scent for every single trip I go on, it then means when I spray that fragrance, it instantly evokes memories of that trip again. I also love to mix up my scents during different seasons and festivities too. Some favourites from Jo Malone include Mimosa and Cardamom, I am always complimented when I wear it in spring. A fragrance that shocked me is Earl Grey and Cucumber, I absolutely love it and it's a scent I'd never have thought to try but it's incredibly refreshing. My go-to date night scent from Jo Malone is Tuberose Angelica, it's so sexy. Obviously, Orange Bitters is a winter must have for him and her. I adore their hand washes and shower oils too for a luxurious start to every day.

So there we have it, you can shop a whole range of Jo Malone products online here and do let me know if there are any products you want to try from Jo Malone or what kind of scents you like.
