Charlotte Tilbury Darling Eye Palette Review

Charlotte tilbury darling
Gifted PR product - Ad affiliate links used - It's no secret that I adore Charlotte Tilbury products, whether it's Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk, Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour And Highlighter or just anything that's going to make me glow and generally, Tilbury make up products do just that. Charlotte Tilbury came, saw and conquered and gave us all what we want but the queen continues to deliver. Today's new launch is Charlotte Tilbury Darling eye palette, apparently the palette Charlotte Tilbury herself uses and definitely a multi-tasker, let's discuss.

The Charlotte Tilbury Darling Palette is a 6 shade eye shadow palette including bronze, pink, terracotta and brown shades. I'd say it's a little warmer than the famous Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk - this actually works better for me as I prefer to wear warm shades. As much as I love big, pretty palettes, they're just not always practical and this is perfect, compact and light-weight for travels too which is always a bonus for me.

I think the colours in this palette are universal, and Charlotte herself says she uses every shade in this palette to create a smokey eye. I'm not really a fan of palettes where there are a few you use and then you leave the rest of them, but this has been designed so all the colours are used! She describes it as a universally flattering palette inspired by 'bohemian beauties'.

One of my favourite eye looks to create is a sunset eye and The Darling palette is inspired by the sunset eye glow look. Winner winner. She's combined the iconic and best selling shades from her most loved palettes into the Charlotte Tilbury Darling palette, so if you didn't get your hands on those, it was worth hanging on for this one!

Within the Darling palette, you have the 'shimmering allure' of the Bella Sofia and the romanic, pinky-gold and soft-focussed glow of Love Eyes and Happy Eyes (these are from the limited edition and sell out Stars In Your Eyes palette - again, perfect if you missed out on that or have run out of yours). I have to say, the second colour to the left is my absolute favourite.

The mix of bronzed copper, peachy pink, rosy terracotta and a chocolate brown means this palette should define, smoke and illuminate, she suggests like an Ibizan sunset. For me, it's like the original Urban Decay Naked palette, with everything you need to create any eye look, but with an added element of Charlotte's glamour. I always look for bronzed tones and often find myself using bronzer on my eyes so this is a dream. It's the perfect Autumnal palette but will work great on Summer evenings too (maybe next year).

So why are Charlotte Tilbury eye palettes so good? They're made with a powder coating technology where pigments are coated with a mix of silicones and emollient oils, the matte shades are velvet-smooth for a soft, cushiony skin feel. In dry use, they’re blendable (I can vouch for that!), and in wet use, they create a luxurious, cream-like texture for a smoother-looking finish.

The metallic shades are silky to the touch with an ultra-smooth texture that transforms from a powder into a liquid cream on the skin, so you can use them both ways. Guilty though, I  always forget to wet them, but I find in dry use they're so good, I never need to wet them!

They're also made with 'Diamond Powder' (of course they are, it's Charlotte Tilbury!), they glimmer with jewel-like light and clarity for a luminous, natural-looking glow. I think this may be the perfect, universal stocking filler!
