Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Review

I've been lucky enough to meet Charlotte Tilbury a few times and one of the things she said is just how much she wants to make her products like beautiful Instagram filters but in real life. It's funny because I saw someone describe the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush range as being like the 'Paris' filter on Instagram, e.g, it makes you look blurred and pretty flawless.
P.S, watch my Full Face of Charlotte Tilbury below.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush bronzer review

Charlotte Tilbury's new Airbrush bronzer is a matte bronzer, which comes in 4 shades. It says it's designed for fair skin tones, to make the skin look soft, Mediterranean and sun kissed. I've had a few people ask me how the Tilbury bronzer compares to Soleil Du Chanel which I just don't get along with - really need to persevere, so for me, a bronzer is better personally... I just like applying a powder to my skin, I feel it goes on better and works for me.

I'm an absolute sucker for a bronzer, apart from skincare, my next favourite thing? Products that create a flawless base, so I am all about face products such as foundations, concealers, powders and bronzers. My eyes lit up when I heard she was bringing out a new bronzer, I have a love hate relationship with bronzers as so many of them are either too shiny OR go grey on my face. No thank you. I got shade medium and I really think the level of darkness is PERFECT for both contouring and bronzing my face, it isn't too dark at all for me.

The Airbrush bronzer can be used for the face and body. We love a multi-tasker. It's also pretty big too, maybe not the best for travel but then again, I'm currently using the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess bronzer powder and that's also huge so we roll with it. Size doesn't really bother me because I put my powders in my handluggage anyway and let's be honest, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon.

Charlotte Tilbury's Airbrush Flawless Finish powder sells 1 every minute, so it must be good. I have sworn by Mac Mineralise powder in shade medium-dark for years now but Airbrush Flawless does give a smooth finish and it keeps my make up in place. The idea behind the Airbrush Bronzer is it uses the same technology and finely milled pigments to blur the appearance and pores and smooth over your skin. The Airbrush bronzer is infused in hyaluronic acid, so skincare meets make up. I love it when make up has skincare properties within it.

Charlotte recommends still using a powder and then applying this after (I personally apply foundation then my powder and then my bronzer).

This is a multi-tasker, you can use it to bronze, contour and they are launching refills for the bronzer later in the year too which I think is a lovely idea. As I said, shade medium I think is perfect for me and would contour but also give a lovely warmth without being too bronzed.

What's so special about the Airbrush Bronzer?

Hyaluronic acid - To moisturise the skin so it appears softer and smoother

Silky mica - Treated with amino acids to make the skin look smoother.

Blurring soft focused silica - To give a soft focused effect on the skin

Micro-fine perfecting powders - To deliver an invisibly thin, silky filter and add a depth of colour and coverage

My opinion on the Airbrush Bronzer?

It definitely does what it says on the tin and is flawless.  I love the case, I think it's premium and a really special piece to have in your make up bag. Don't be scared by the colour, I love deep bronzers and find actually, a lot of bronzers just don't show up on me but the pigmentation of this is great, it's a lovely bronzed colour without being too dark. I'm glad it doesn't come with a small, rubbish brush inside to apply the bronzer with, you need a proper bronzing brush for a good bronzer. It has a small shimmer but it isn't overpowering and even though it's matte, as a lot of other reviews have touched on too, it definitely isn't flat on the face. It just gives a gorgeous, sun kissed glow, the Charlotte Tilbury signature glow I'd say. I love that you can go for a warm tone if you're looking to skin-sculpt and contour too and really love that I can also use it on my chest! Bonus with the size, it will last you forever haha!

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Kabuki Brush - I mean, the most gorgeous brush I have ever seen? I do LOVE a white brush but let's be honest, they stay white for about 3 seconds, particularly when you're putting it on a bronzer. It's pretty for the first few seconds. I love Kabuki style brushes and first fell in love with them when I heard Kim Kardashian uses them to apply her foundation with, she apparently buffs it in with a Kabuki so ever since hearing that, I've been all about the Kabuki. If anything is going to make my make up look like Kim Kardashian's I want it. The Kabuki brush is retractable which I don't really like, I get it, it makes it good for travel, but I am just used to having long brushes now, flying around my bag - so actually, maybe this is positive for me?! The idea is this brush is meant to help apply products and give you an airbrushed, sun-kissed and smooth-looking finish. What I have to say is that I find make up brushes get better with time. I have some MAC brushes and honestly months in, they are better than they ever were! They are amazing. I think brushes take some time to get really good.

Charlotte tilbury airbrush kabuki brush

- It uses soft synthetics,  making it ultra soft and also 100% cruelty free

- The handle is ergonomic meaning it's been sized for optimum control during application

- It's been designed with make up on the go in mind, it's portable, easy to use and retractable (and gorgeous)

My conclusion on the brush is on first impressions, it's beautiful, I need a bit more time before I can say if it's a hero product for me and it will take me a while to get used to NOT having a long brush to use, however, I trust in the way it's been designed and if Charlotte says it's ergonomic for optimum control, I'm gonna trust her on this one! Maybe it's time I say goodbye to brushes flying round my bag and start being tidier and more minimal with my brushes for travel?!
