A Weekend In Manchester; Manchester Christmas Markets!

Even though I've lived in the North for most of my life, there's still so much to explore. The North of England is beautiful, with so many incredible cities, villages and hidden gems. Whilst Manchester isn't particularly 'hidden' and I have visited it thousands of times, a couple of weeks ago I decided to stay there for a little weekend away. Sometimes it's just nice to get away even if it is only down the road.
We drove to Manchester and checked into our hotel, we went for a serviced apartment (SACO Apartments) as I find serviced apartments are so nice. The apartment was huge, in fact, I could have lived there and the service at the check in desk was amazing.

The apartment was so nice, we didn't even want to go out for dinner that evening. You get a huge bathroom with a bathtub, a washing room, a bedroom and an amazing living room area and kitchen plus, breakfast treats for the morning.

They even have perfectly placed mirrors for selfies. Oops. On arrival, I wore my trusty ripped jeans (online here), my new jumper from favourite brand, The Fifth Label (online here) and my gorgeous new suede heel boots (online here). They're the kind of boots that look really classy, give you a little bit of height but you can still walk around all day in them.

One of my favourite things about going away is packing all my fave toiletries. I thought I'd give you a little look into what I'm using at the moment...

Nuxe Huile Prodigieux Oil to make me nice and smooth, Sanctuary Spa Wonderbody moisturiser, Kiehl's Facial Toner, Kiehl's Deep Cleansing Cleanser, Kiehl's Lipbalm, Toni & Guy Heat Spray, La Roche Posay Effecluar Duo (which ran out after about two uses!?), Kiel's Midnight Recovery Oil, Kiehl's Daily Revive Concentrate. As most of you will know, my skin randomly broke out all along my jawline with tiny, really awful spots and I had no idea why. I went to Kiehl's and they explained that I'm really dehydrated and set me up with a new skincare regime. So far so good. I haven't blogged about it yet as I'm trialling it for a good few months to check that it actually works. I'll keep you updated!

I brought my new Illamasqua Celestial palette with me for dinner dates - it's so stunning.

The hotel came complete with L'Occitane toiletries, you can tell a lot about how good a hotel/apartment is by the amazing toiletries supplied.

We got ready for dinner, I wore my Missguided Tux Blazer dress, online here and seen in full glory on my blog post here.

We ate at San Carlos and for once I didn't take photos. It's one of my favourite Italian restaurants (even if the service isn't great) but it was far too busy (and we were really close to everyone on the tables next to us to take photos).

The next day, we explored the Manchester Christmas markets.

and obviously headed into some of my favourite shops to shop. Manchester is really good for shopping, particularly high end shopping as they have a Selfridges and a Harvey Nichols

The markets in Manchester probably take up the whole city and they're extremely busy on weekends.

Of course I had a freshly baked macaroon.

I filled my bag with more chocolate raisins than anyone should consume.

That evening, I wore my new two-piece for dinner. Online here.

The following day, I was doing some exciting filming work at the Manchester Arndale shopping centre. I started my day with a Starbucks red cup of course (so festive)

and headed for some brunch in Manchester's quirky Northern Quarter.

I picked my top Winter coats and loved every minute of it. Wearing my trusty ripped jeans again of course. You can watch my video below if you haven't seen it yet. It would mean the world to me if you could subscribe to my channel here!

So there we have it! A weekend in Manchester. It was so much fun to just shop, eat and end it with some lovely filming. I can't get enough of Christmas markets either so visiting these and then rolling back into bed in the most beautiful apartments was a dream come true. I cannot recommend SACO apartments enough and they have them all over the world so I'm sure I'll be staying in another one really soon!

Have you visited Manchester? Have you ever gone away not too far from home for a change? Do you love Christmas markets?

Lots of love, Em x
