Benefit The Porefessional Primer Review

benefit the porefessional primer

Hello! So I don't know why I've only just got round to reviewing this primer now - it's long been one of my favourite primers and I've been meaning to review it for more than a year, but better late than never ey? I feel like so many people talk about this product but I've never read any full-blown reviews so I thought I'd do one today. It actually took me quite some time to fall in love with this primer, it was a product that I had to persevere with but when I had to go without it for a few weeks, I realised just how flawless it made my make up look and I really missed using it. Let's talk about Benefit's best selling primer (it's a best seller for a reason!)...

I always thought The Porefessional wasn't for me because it's designed to minimize the appearance of pores and I would say I don't really have big pores. I've never really wanted to 'minimize' my face but I guess what that actually means is it will 'smooth' things out a little bit. Actually, this primer basically just makes your skin look flawless and kind of coats your skin with a balm which makes your skin look even and smooth - that's the only way I can describe it. It's designed to give you smooth skin and I'd say that's exactly what it does, it completely smooths and evens out the skin with a balmy like coat and then, once you put make up over the top, your skin really does look flawless.

You can actually apply this on over the top of make up too, I personally wouldn't do it that way but I guess that makes the product quite versatile.

Texture wise, I actually really love the way this feels on my skin. It feels like a soft, gentle balm and as soon as you put it on your face, it brightens and smooths the surface instantly. I tend to let my moisturiser sink in and then put this over the top, then apply make up. This is actually really moisturising itself though I find and naughty me, when I'm in a rush I will just apply this instead of both moisturiser and this. It feels extremely light-weight on the skin and actually quite refreshing too. I actually like putting this on, it doesn't feel like it's clogging up my skin and it doesn't feel dirty like some products do. It's not the kind of product that I immediately want to wash off.

It's translucent in colour plus it's oil-free too meaning that your make up will stay put and you won't break out. I'm always weary about which products I use on my skin and this hasn't made me break out once. It does contain Vitamin E so maybe my skin just likes that.

I do really think that this product completely transforms how smooth my skin looks, my make up stays on throughout the day, it doesn't clog my skin and my make up does generally look smoother and more flawless with this underneath as a base.

It costs £24 for The Porefessional at FeelUnique online here or you can get it at ASOS too. I think this is well priced for a high-end product. I just wish that the tube was bigger because it does run out quite quickly - I've been through about 5 of these so please Benefit, start making an extra big Porefessional so I never run out!

Have you used Benefit's Porefessional? Have you used anything similar? Would you like to use this?

I hope you don't mind me dipping in and out of beauty, lifestyle and fashion posts, I'd love to know what kind of posts you're liking from me at the moment!

Lots of love, Em x
