Affiliate throughout: If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know I’m obsessed with fragrance. It’s one of those finishing touches that can completely transform how you feel and I get so many compliments when I wear it. So when I finally got my hands on Jo Loves perfume, I knew I had to do a full deep-dive review.
I’ve been wearing it non-stop, testing it properly (not just a quick spritz before heading out), and I have a lot to say…

Who is Jo Loves? The Story Behind the Brand
Before we get into the scents themselves, I want to tell you all about the woman behind it all, because I personally think her story honestly makes the brand even more special.
Jo Loves was founded by Jo Malone, the same fragrance legend behind Jo Malone London. After selling that company, Jo took a break from the perfume world… but creativity clearly doesn’t just switch off like that.
She came back with Jo Loves, her personal, more experimental fragrance house. It’s less about traditional perfume rules and more about storytelling, memories, and unexpected combinations.
And I can really feel that when I wear it.
First Impressions of Jo Loves Perfume
From the moment the package arrived, it felt luxurious but understated. The branding is minimal, chic, and very effortless London.
But the real magic is in the scents themselves.
Jo Loves perfumes are designed to be:
- Fresh yet distinctive
- Layerable (you can combine scents)
- Unisex and wearable for everyone
I tried a few, but the one I kept reaching for was Pomelo, which, fun fact, was inspired by Jo’s first ever fragrance.
My Experience Wearing Jo Loves Perfume
I wore Jo Loves perfume for a full day (and evening), and here’s how it actually performed:
First spritz:
Super fresh, citrusy, almost sparkling. I'd describe it as uplifting, like opening a window on a warm morning.
After an hour:
It softens into something more rounded and slightly floral, but still clean.
By the end of the day:
It sits close to the skin in a really elegant way, not overpowering, just beautifully subtle and when I smell it on myself it feels like it's part of my own skin and I love that about a fragrance because that's when I know it suits me.
What I love most is that it doesn’t feel heavy or try-hard. It’s one of those fragrances that makes people lean in and say, 'you smell amazing, what scent is that?'.
If you’re new to the brand, these are the ones I’d recommend starting with:
- Pomelo : Fresh, citrus, iconic
- White Rose & Lemon Leaves: Light, floral, slightly green
- Mango Thai Lime : Fruity, vibrant, perfect for holidays
- Amber, Lime & Bergamot : Warm but still fresh
Each one feels like a different mood or memory, which I think is exactly what Jo intended.
Is Jo Loves perfume long-lasting?
It’s more of a skin scent than a heavy, long-lasting perfume. You’ll likely want to reapply, but personally, I don’t mind that at all and I don't love heavy scents that seem to get heavier as the day goes on.
Is Jo Loves worth the price?
Yes, if you appreciate unique, well-crafted fragrances that feel different from mainstream perfumes I think Jo Loves is worth the investment. It’s definitely a luxury purchase that feels special when on.
Where can you buy Jo Loves perfume?
My personal favourites to shop Jo Loves are:
How much does Jo Loves perfume cost?
Prices typically start at around:
- 50ml starts at around £80
- £120+ for full-size fragrances of 100ml
- £42 for a lovely Refillable Fragrance Paintbrush which is a lovely handbag sized spray of 7ml with a 7ml refill
There are also candles, bath products, and their famous fragrance paintbrushes (which are such a fun touch).
Is Jo Loves better than Jo Malone London?
I don't think it's a secret that I adore Jo Malone so it's not about better for me, it’s about different.
Jo Loves feels very personal, creative, and slightly more niche compared to the more classic feel of Jo Malone London. Both are wonderful and I would never choose, they are both in my regular scents.
Final Thoughts:
After properly wearing and testing it, I can honestly say Jo Loves perfume feels like a modern luxury. It’s not loud or overpowering, it’s confident, understated, and quietly beautiful.
If you love fragrance that tells a story and feels a little bit different from everything else on the market, this is absolutely one to try.
