Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ Serum Review and Why Everyone is Talking about it

Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ Serum

Affiliate throughout: If you’ve spent even five minutes on skincare TikTok lately, chances are you’ve heard whispers about PDRNexosomes, glass skin, and the latest wave of regenerative skincare. Well today I'm going to tell you all about Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ which is a serum that feels as though it has stepped straight out of a futuristic skin clinic and landed in our bathroom cabinets.  It's truly wonderful and I'm glad I found it.

After testing plenty of Medik8 launches over the years, I was especially intrigued by this one because it combines some of the buzziest ingredients in beauty right now: vegan PDRN, exosomes, growth-factor technology and barrier-support ingredients, all in one lightweight serum. Medik8 says it helps support visible skin rejuvenation, improve luminosity, smooth texture and boost resilience. Clinical testing also reported improvements in barrier function, firmness and wrinkles in as little as one to two weeks.

For anyone new to the brand, Medik8 is a British skincare company built around the philosophy of CSA: Vitamin C + Sunscreen by day, Vitamin A by night.  It's particularly special to me because the company was founded by Elliot Isaacs who studied pharmacology and biochemistry at the University of Leeds, which has a special place in my heart. The brand has become incredibly well known for results-driven formulations, particularly its retinal products, peptides and professional-grade actives. Their focus has always leaned heavily into science-backed skincare rather than trend-led launches.

This serum feels like a natural next step for them because it taps into the growing interest around regenerative aesthetics and clinic-inspired skincare.

What Is Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+?

Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ is a 'Youthful Vitality Serum' designed to support the skin’s natural recovery and visible rejuvenation pathways.

Its headline ingredients include:

  • Prismatic PDRN: Medik8’s vegan version of PDRN designed for topical use
  • Triple Exosome Complex: intended to support skin communication and resilience
  • GF MiniProtein™: a growth factor inspired technology
  • ATP Precursor: aimed at supporting visible revitalisation processes within the skin

Medik8 states there are up to 151 billion exosomes per bottle and positions the serum around three goals: Recover, Restore and Recharge.  I think this makes it pretty exciting stuff to be honest.  It feels ground breaking.

What is PDRN in skincare?

PDRN stands for Polydeoxyribonucleotide.

Traditionally, it has become famous through injectable treatments and Korean skin clinics, often linked with salmon DNA facials. It’s usually associated with skin recovery, hydration support and improving the appearance of vitality.

Medik8 has created a vegan version rather than using salmon-derived PDRN.

What does Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ actually do?

According to Medik8, the serum is designed to help:

  • Improve skin luminosity
  • Support smoother texture
  • Reduce the appearance of wrinkles
  • Improve firmness
  • Strengthen the skin barrier
  • Calm visible redness
  • Support post-treatment recovery appearance

Clinical studies reported improvements in skin barrier appearance and luminosity within seven days, with wrinkle improvements reported after fourteen days.  I'm pretty obsessed with luminosity and appearance of my skin, I'm in my glass like skin era and honestly my skin is wonderful after using this product.

Is Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ worth it?

If you love high-tech skincare, I’d say yes.  I do and I love testing the latest trend.  We've been hearing the same old names forever and it's so nice to have something new to try.

Remember too that it is not a basic hydrating serum. It sits firmly in the luxury treatment skincare category.

It feels aimed at people who:

✔ Want a more rejuvenated look
✔ Have dull or tired skin
✔ Love clinic-inspired ingredients
✔ Are already investing in advanced skincare
✔ Want support after professional treatments

If your focus is simply hydration, there are cheaper options. But if you enjoy innovation and want the newest ingredient technologies, this feels very exciting.

What skin type is Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ best for?

Medik8 positions it for all skin types

It may particularly appeal to:

  • Mature skin
  • Dull skin
  • Post-treatment skin
  • Dehydrated complexions
  • Sensitive skin needing barrier support

Beauty editors testing the product reported calmer, less red skin and improved glow, particularly on sensitive or reactive complexions. My skin is combination and is prone to breakouts, this has helped.

Can you use Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ with retinol?

Yes.

In fact, it seems to fit beautifully into a Medik8 routine.

Morning:

  1. Cleanser
  2. Exo-PDRN Prismatic+
  3. Vitamin C
  4. Moisturiser
  5. SPF

Evening:

  1. Cleanser
  2. Exo-PDRN Prismatic+
  3. Retinal or retinol
  4. Moisturiser

Does topical PDRN actually work?

This is one of the biggest questions online.

Some skincare enthusiasts question whether traditional PDRN molecules penetrate effectively when applied topically, while others report improved glow, hydration and calming effects. Discussions across skincare communities remain mixed.

Medik8’s answer is its Prismatic PDRN technology, which it says was specifically engineered for better topical delivery compared with standard vegan PDRN formats.

Is Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ better than peptides?

Not necessarily better, just different.

Peptides focus heavily on supporting firmness and visible ageing concerns.

PDRN + exosome technology leans more toward:

  • Recovery support
  • Vitality
  • Luminosity
  • Skin resilience
  • Barrier optimisation

If you already love peptides, this could sit alongside them rather than replace them.

You may also want to look at Medik8 Liquid Peptides Advanced MP as another advanced option within the Medik8 range.

Can Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ help after treatments?

This is one area where the serum is getting lots of attention.

Medik8 specifically mentions suitability alongside professional procedures and consumer testing found very high satisfaction among users who had undergone injectable polynucleotide treatments.

Obviously, always follow advice from your practitioner after treatments.

How do you use Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+?

Apply after cleansing and before heavier serums, moisturisers or oils.

Texture-wise it’s a lightweight, watery gel that absorbs quickly without feeling sticky. I have personally found no stickiness: believe me I will not use sticky products and I have also found that it layers well and sits comfortably under makeup.

I use it as follows:

  • Morning and evening
  • 1–2 pumps
  • Follow with moisturiser such as this Medik8 Daily Moisturiser which is so good
  • SPF during daytime

Is Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ vegan?

Yes.

Unlike many PDRN products inspired by salmon DNA treatments, Medik8 developed a vegan alternative.

Does it give glass skin?

This was one of my biggest reasons for trying it and potentially it does.  It certainly gives a lovely glow (I was actually showing it quite proudly to my mum recently).

Reports from others I know who have used it say that it reduces redness and improves plumpness.  My experience is that it just gives me a great, glowy skin tone which I love right now and it's the combination of the plumpness and glow that I think gives it a glass like aesthetic.

Final Thoughts: Is Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ The Future Of Skincare?

Skincare has definitely entered its biology-first era, and Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ feels right at the centre of it.

This isn’t just another hydrating serum or peptide launch. It combines some of the most talked-about technologies in beauty right now and wraps them into something that still feels approachable enough for everyday use.

If you love luxury skincare, enjoy testing innovation and want that healthy, luminous, my skin looks expensive finish, this is one of the most interesting launches I’ve seen from Medik8 in a long time.

And ultimately, that’s what keeps bringing me back to Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+it takes all of the excitement around PDRN, exosomes and regenerative skincare and puts it into one beautifully formulated serum that feels genuinely ahead of the curve so a huge shoutout to Medik8.

Lots of love, Em x
