Affiliate throughout: There are some beauty products that you use because you should moisturise your body, and then there are the ones that make you actually look forward to doing it.
LOoPHA Oud + Amber Hand + Body Water Cream is very much in the second category for me.
I’ve become slightly obsessed with this body moisturiser. It has that gorgeous, warm, expensive-smelling oud scent that makes you feel like you’ve just stepped out of a really beautiful hotel spa, but the actual formula is surprisingly light. No sticky body lotion, no waiting around for it to sink in and absolutely none of that horrible feeling of putting your clothes on over freshly moisturised skin. Believe me, I do not like stickiness or waiting around!
Instead, it glides over the skin, absorbs incredibly quickly and leaves my skin feeling soft, comfortable and hydrated.
And the scent? Honestly, this is what I adore about it.
I'm here to tell you all about the wonderful LOoPHA Oud + Amber Hand + Body Water Cream and answer all the questions you may have. Here is my review of the LOoPHA Oud + Amber Body Cream

What is LOoPHA?
LOoPHA is a body-care brand from the DECIEM family, created around the idea that everyday body care can be both functional and sensory.
Rather than treating body moisturiser as something boring that you quickly slap on after a shower, LOoPHA combines skincare-focused formulas with beautiful fragrances. And when I say beautiful I mean insanely beautiful.
The range currently includes body washes, powder washes, body water creams and a Biomimetic Body Serum, with scents including Oud + Amber, Broadleaf Forest and Chalk.
And I have to say, the packaging is very much my kind of bathroom aesthetic. It looks sleek, modern and expensive without trying too hard.
The Oud + Amber Hand + Body Water Cream is part of the Oud + Amber collection, which also includes the matching Hand + Body Wash and Powder Wash. The whole collection is designed to work together for fragrance layering.
What does LOoPHA Oud + Amber Body Moisturiser smell like?
This is probably the question I get asked most whenever I talk about a scented body product.
The fragrance is a warm combination of oud, amber, bergamot and tonka bean.
For me, it smells warm, sophisticated and slightly woody, but the bergamot stops it from becoming too dark or heavy.
I wouldn't describe it as a traditional, very intense oud fragrance. It's softer and much more wearable.
It has that gorgeous expensive skin quality to it.
And because it is a body moisturiser rather than a perfume, the fragrance feels much more subtle when you're wearing it. I can smell it on my skin, but it doesn't take over the room.
Is LOoPHA Oud + Amber Body Water Cream actually moisturising?
Yes and this is where I think the product is particularly clever.
The texture is light and almost water-cream-like, but LOoPHA says it provides light-yet-lasting hydration, while helping to soothe visible redness and reinforce the skin barrier.
It contains 12% glycerin, which is a humectant that attracts and retains water in the skin.
It also contains saccharide isomerate, jojoba esters and a marine-derived combination involving calcified red algae. These ingredients are included to support hydration and the skin barrier.
So although this feels like a lightweight body moisturiser, it isn't just a watery lotion that disappears five minutes later.
My skin feels properly soft afterwards.
Does LOoPHA Oud + Amber Body Moisturiser feel greasy?
No, and this is honestly one of my favourite things about it.
I don't like body creams that leave a film over my skin, particularly in the summer or when I'm getting dressed straight after showering.
This one absorbs incredibly quickly.
You can massage it into your skin and get dressed without feeling as though your clothes are sticking to you.
LOoPHA specifically describes it as absorbing in seconds, and I think that's a very accurate description of the texture.
Is LOoPHA Oud + Amber Body Moisturiser good for dry skin?
I would say yes, particularly if you want hydration without a rich, heavy body butter.
The formula combines glycerin, shea butter, jojoba esters and saccharide isomerate, so there is plenty going on from a moisturising point of view.
If your skin is extremely dry, flaky or compromised, you might prefer something much richer, but for everyday body moisturising I think this hits a lovely middle ground.
It's hydrating enough to make my skin feel soft but lightweight enough that I actually want to use it every day.
Does LOoPHA Oud + Amber Body Cream help the skin barrier?
The brand says that it does.
LOoPHA specifically formulates this body water cream to help reinforce the skin barrier, with ingredients including glycerin, saccharide isomerate, jojoba esters and its calcified red algae complex.
I particularly like that this isn't marketed simply as a product that makes your legs look shiny for five minutes.
It is designed to provide ongoing hydration and support the skin's natural barrier too.
Can you use LOoPHA Oud + Amber Water Cream on your hands?
Yes.
Despite being a body moisturiser, it is officially called the Hand + Body Water Cream, so it can be used on both hands and body.
I actually think this makes it a really useful product to have by the sink because you get the moisturising benefits alongside that gorgeous fragrance.
Can you use LOoPHA Oud + Amber Body Moisturiser every day?
Absolutely.
This is exactly the kind of body moisturiser I would use every day after showering.
Because it is lightweight and absorbs so quickly, it doesn't feel like a chore.
And I've found that when a body product smells this good, I'm much more likely to remember to use it!
Is LOoPHA Oud + Amber suitable for sensitive skin?
This is one area where I would be a little careful.
Although the formula contains skin-supporting and hydrating ingredients, it is a fragranced product. The ingredient list includes parfum plus fragrance allergens such as limonene, linalool, eugenol and others.
If you have very sensitive or reactive skin, I would always patch test first and check the current ingredient list before using it all over your body.
If fragrance doesn't normally bother your skin, however, this is a lovely option if you want your body moisturiser to do double duty as part of your fragrance routine.
How do you use LOoPHA Oud + Amber Body Water Cream?
It's very simple.
After showering or bathing, apply the cream to clean skin and massage it in.
I particularly like using it when my skin is still slightly warm from the shower because it makes the whole experience feel like a little at-home spa ritual.
And don't forget your hands, elbows, knees and anywhere else that tends to get dry.
How much LOoPHA Oud + Amber Body Moisturiser do you need?
You don't need loads.
Because the formula spreads so easily, I find a little goes a surprisingly long way.
I would much rather apply a smaller amount and add more where I need it than put a huge blob on my skin and spend ages trying to work it in.
How long does the LOoPHA Oud + Amber fragrance last?
This is slightly subjective because everyone's skin holds fragrance differently.
For me, the scent is noticeable after application but remains much softer than wearing a perfume.
That's actually what I like about it.
It gives my skin a lovely warm, clean fragrance without feeling as though I've sprayed myself in perfume.
And if you use the matching Oud + Amber Hand + Body Wash as well, you can layer the fragrance for a more noticeable effect.
Can you layer LOoPHA Oud + Amber with perfume?
Yes, and this is probably how I would use it if I wanted the fragrance to last longer.
Use the Oud + Amber Water Cream after showering and then apply your perfume once your skin has absorbed the moisturiser.
Because the body cream itself has that warm oud, amber, bergamot and tonka profile, it works particularly nicely as a scented base rather than competing with a completely different fragrance.
Does LOoPHA Oud + Amber smell masculine or feminine?
I wouldn't put it into either category.
Oud is often used in fragrances marketed towards men, but I think this particular combination is completely unisex.
The amber and tonka make it warm and cosy, while the bergamot gives it freshness.
If you like sophisticated woody fragrances, regardless of whether they're marketed for men or women, I think you'll probably enjoy this.
Is LOoPHA Oud + Amber Body Cream worth the £28 price?
The 370ml bottle is currently £28 in the UK, which puts it above a basic high-street body lotion but, in my opinion, makes sense for something that combines body hydration with a genuinely beautiful fragrance experience.
You're also getting a generous 370ml bottle, so this isn't one of those tiny luxury body creams that disappears after a couple of weeks.
For me, the question is whether you want a basic moisturiser or whether you want your body care to feel like part of your beauty routine.
If it's the latter, I think LOoPHA makes a very strong case.
Is LOoPHA Oud + Amber Body Moisturiser better than a body lotion?
I wouldn't necessarily say better because it depends on what you want.
A traditional rich body lotion may be preferable if your skin is extremely dry and needs something very occlusive.
But if you want something lightweight, fast absorbing, hydrating and beautifully fragranced, this is where LOoPHA really stands out.
It's the sort of product that makes body moisturising feel much more luxurious.
Does LOoPHA Oud + Amber leave skin soft?
Yes.
The combination of humectants and emollients is designed to hydrate the skin and help maintain moisture. LOoPHA says the formula provides immediate and lasting hydration while helping support the skin barrier.
For me, the biggest difference is the feel rather than a greasy shine.
My skin feels smooth, soft and comfortable.
Is LOoPHA Oud + Amber Body Water Cream good for summer?
I actually think this is when the texture really comes into its own.
In warmer weather I don't want a thick body butter sitting on my skin.
This is light, absorbs quickly and still gives me that lovely moisturised feeling.
Is LOoPHA Oud + Amber good for winter?
Also yes!
The fragrance actually makes it feel particularly suited to autumn and winter for me.
That combination of oud, amber and tonka bean has a warmth that feels incredibly cosy when it's cold outside.
And because the formula is designed to provide lasting hydration, it can still work beautifully when your skin is feeling drier during the colder months.
What does LOoPHA Oud + Amber compare to?
I wouldn't say it is a direct dupe for any particular perfume or body lotion.
It sits somewhere between skincare and fragrance.
If you love warm, woody, amber-based scents, you'll probably understand immediately why I like it.
The scent is sophisticated rather than sugary, and the formula is much lighter than many rich body creams.
Does LOoPHA Oud + Amber have a matching body wash?
Yes!
The matching Oud + Amber Hand + Body Wash has the same cosy combination of oud, amber, bergamot and tonka bean.
There is also an Oud + Amber Powder Wash, so you can build quite a nice little fragrance-layering routine around the scent.
LOoPHA also sells the Oud + Amber Wash and Water Cream together as a collection, currently discounted to £46.26 compared with £51.40 when bought separately.
My verdict: would I buy LOoPHA Oud + Amber again?
Yes. Absolutely.
There are so many body moisturisers out there that promise soft skin but don't really excite me.
LOoPHA feels different.
It has made something as mundane as moisturising my body feel like a little beauty ritual. I love the fact that the texture is lightweight, I love how quickly it absorbs and, most importantly, I LOVE the scent.
The Oud + Amber fragrance is warm, sophisticated and cosy without being overpowering, while the water-cream texture leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated without that horrible sticky finish.
If you're looking for an oud body moisturiser, a luxury body cream, a lightweight body moisturiser for dry skin, or simply something that makes your everyday shower routine feel a little bit more special, I think LOoPHA Oud + Amber Hand + Body Water Cream is absolutely worth putting on your wishlist.
