The Body Shop Honey Bronze Collection: Get A Summer Glow

the body shop honey bronze collection

I feel like I haven’t discussed anything in the beauty world for quite a few days and that hurts. Do not fear though because I have lots of exciting beauty bits and bobs coming up. I love beauty, it’s my passion, I get so giddy and girlie about it so how could I not write about this collection?! If you know me, you’ll know that I love highlighter, anything that smells of honey (my favourite scent ever, in Lush I literally gravitate towards anything that's honey scented), anything that’s golden and tanned and a favourite brand of mine is The Body Shop. So it seems like this is the perfect collection for me. When this arrived at my door I actually squealed, I was in honey heaven. A natural-looking glow is the look that I’m always trying to achieve, I love having dewy, illuminated, Kim-Kardashian inspired skin. If you like that too, then these are the products for you. I am so excited to share these new releases with you.

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder
Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder - £13.00 : Firstly, the packaging. Could this be anymore beautiful? It’s so simplistic and light-weight, I actually keep forgetting that it’s in my bag because it’s so slim. I’m proud to pull this out of my bag in public because it just looks so gorgeous and effortless. This bronzer isn’t as dark as the bronzers I usually use (Liz Earle Radiant Glow Bronzer, He-Shi Bronzer and Benefit Hoola) but I actually like this for a change. It gives me a really natural, healthy glow (it is available in darker shades too but I personally like this as more of a matte, simple, all over warming powder).  The Body Shop explain that this is good for contouring and their tip with this bronzer is to sweep the bronzing brush across the palette, softly smile and then blend onto the cheeks and up along the cheekbones, for a sheer, even-wash of colour. That’s definitely how I’d describe it, it does give a really nice sheer, even-wash of colour which is exactly what you want, no dark grey dirty lines with The Body Shop.

honey bronze bronzing gel for face the body shop

honey bronze bronzing gel

the body shop honey bronze bronzing gel review
Honey Bronze Bronzing Gel - £12.00: Oh gosh I was so excited when I saw this. If you read my blog frequently you’ll realise that I absolutely love highlighters. If this came into my life sooner, it would definitely have featured on my top highlighting products post. I truly believe that Kim Kardashian would love this product, her make up is always extremely golden, tanned and glowy – just how I like my skin to look. This liquid bronzing gel is really moisturising, so much so that to begin with I actually put far too much on, you need the tiniest bit of this, trust me, it will never run out. I didn’t really know how to use this to begin with so I just put a bit on my cheeks after putting a primer on and it went too dark to begin with but once I rubbed it in with my fingers it was fine, I just had far too much on. After reading up about it, you’re meant to apply it as a light bronzing tint. The Body shop recommend that you apply seven dots of product to the face: the forehead, temples, cheeks, chin and neck, then take the bronzing brush and buff and blend out towards the hairline to create a sheer even golden tone. Once I did this, it all made sense, this product is great for giving you an all over glow, rather than just a glow on your cheek bones. The perfect way to fake a natural, golden look.

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Shimmering Dry Oil

honey bronze shimmering dry oil the body shop

Honey Bronze Shimmering Dry Oil: £16.00 -   Now this truly is the dream. If you read my holiday essentials post you’ll have noticed that I mentioned a dream body oil from The Body Shop and this is basically that, but 10x better because it’s got added sparkle. I love anything golden. This isn’t childish sparkle though, this is sexy, grown-up sparkle, the kind of sparkle that elongates your legs and makes your body look flawless. It’s extremely lightweight, it isn’t greasy (hooray). I cannot stand putting greasy things on my body, it literally sinks into the skin, my skin drinks this up and then you’re left with a subtle tint of gold shimmer – no streaks of course. I’ve noticed that it doesn’t rub off on my clothes either so it really is perfect for Summer, picnic and a white dress anyone? If you’re baring it all this Summer, make sure you use this, it's an essential item and I know it will be in my bag at all times. It also enhances your tan too so I'll be using this on my travels this July!

honey bronze brilliance powder the body shop
Honey Bronze Brilliance Powder: £16.00 -  This amazing illuminating powder truly is my new favourite item ever. I’d personally use this as my main bronzer and put the lighter honey bronzing powder all over my face for an all over glow. I’d say this is a little bit more sparkly, it’s more illuminating and it makes you look so sun-kissed and fresh, it's darker so it's great to really warm up your cheeks. It comes in a non-messy tube, perfect for travel and perfect for getting an instant shimmer to wake up your face or neck area (or both). I’ve been putting this on my neck too just to enhance my tan. This also has an integrated brush so you don’t need to carry a brush around with you, you literally just put the brush to your face and the powder comes out, but not too much so don’t worry, you wont end up looking orange. What I would say about these products is they are all extremely golden, there isn’t even a hint of orange in them. Perfect if you're wanting a nice, natural, olive/golden look.

Honey Bronze Lip Nectar In Coral the body shop

Honey Bronze Lip Nectar In Coral - £9.50 Another favourite. I am obsessed with lip glosses from The Body Shop, you’ll probably know that if you read my Spring favourites post and have watched any of my new YouTube videos, I'm forever wearing them. They make my lips feel so moisturised but always give them more of a plump look too which I love. This lipgloss is enriched with honey and gives off a sheer tint with sparkling shine, but it's not too shiny. I love nude/tanned lip-colours, particularly when they're moisturising!

As always, everything from The Body Shop is made with really good ingredients and the honey bronze range is no different, these products are enriched with community fair trade honey sourced from the western Ethiopian highlands. Another reason why I love The Body Shop, I've always adored them for their morals and ethics. Everything by The Body Shop is kind to my skin and body and I feel like I’m pampering myself every time I use their products because they're always so good. As I've said a number of times, I really never used to be that bothered about natural products but ever since having a major skin breakout, I realised that I really need to start using natural, kind to skin products and I've seen such a change in my skin since doing so. A massive thank you to The Body Shop for introducing me to this fabulous range, you really are taking the beauty world by storm at the moment.

Have you used any of the Honey Bronze range? Do you like the look of it? Do you also love golden/natural glowing products? Are you a fan of the bronzed look? Are you going away anywhere this Summer?

Lots of love, Em x
