Happy New Year! Wow. We've made it to 2023! Just wanted to first say thank you all so much for the support you showed me through 2022. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for all of you watching, reading and interacting with my content - so thank you!
One thing I would like to achieve more of in 2023 is to travel and to eat. You know how much it fills my soul with joy to explore all these amazing places and eat until my heart is content. One place that truly captured me in 2022 is Paris. I went so many times and am already planning a trip for 2023.
Every time I do go to Paris I have so many of you messaging me for Paris restaurant recommendations and I have been promising you all for a while to put together a guide to the best restaurants in Paris and finally the wait is over! To welcome the new year I have finally finished this off and am happy to present to you all my favourite restaurants in Paris! Read my guide to the best places to eat in Paris, with lots of tips from my Parisian friends who live here!

L'Avenue

Best Luxe Restaurants In Paris:

- Giraf - If you want amazing views of the Eiffel Tower than Giraf is the best place. It's incredibly pricy, but worth it. Food was delicious and service very good.
- Best for: Lunch, Drinks or Dinner

- LouLou - Loulou is impossibly chic, but lots of fun. The food is good and a great place to people watch. They've also opened a sister restaurant called Coco. The food is different but the concept is the same. Sophisticated, luxe and chic. It's better if you can sit outside here in Summer IMO.
- Best for: Lunch

- Monsieur Bleu - Situated in the Palais de Tokyo, this is a gorgeous spot. The interiors are impossibly chic and they also operate an outdoor terrace from June - September which is stunning with views of the Eiffel Tower. Food is utterly delicious!
Best for: Brunch, Lunch, Dinner

- Hotel Brach - Much more laidback than Monsieur Bleu, but still on the pricey side, Hotel Brach is a great place to book if you still want something luxurious but don't feel like getting dressed up to the nines.
Best for: Lunch, Dinner

Balagan Paris

- L'Avenue - Ok, yes I know how 'basic' this is as it's dubbed the 'models' place to go and be seen but really I had a lovely time. The food was exceptional and the staff very friendly! Everyone raves about the pasta, but I really loved the Butterfly Chicken and Tuna Tartare. I truly would go back on every trip to Paris now. It's also great post or pre shopping as it's super central.
- Best for: Lunch or Dinner

- Hotel Costes - Expensive and another 'go there to be seen' spot but so worth it! The restaurant is super glamourous and the menu seasonal so expect only the freshest of ingredients. It made me want to sip a martini (I don't really like martinis) and be dressed in a cocktail dress.
Best for: Luxe dinner or drinks

- Clover Grill - This is a carnivores dream! If you've got hankering for the perfect steak and fries then this is your spot. Expensive, but worth it. Pull up a chair and have a drink at the marble bar afterwards.
Best for: Dinner

 L'Avenue

Best Mid Range Restaurants In Paris

- Bambini - A quirky little Italian, there's a spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower while walking over too and actually great prices for Paris. The decor is so quirky and fun too.
- Best for: Lunch, Dinner

- Ober Mamma - There are queues for this Italian eatery but for good reason. Super affordable and the pizza is the best you can get in the city. It's worth the wait - trust me.
- Best for: Lunch

- Pink Mamma - Part of the Big Mamma group you know you're getting good vibes, good food and amazing  memories. All of these restaurants are so so fun and the staircase / building here is a work of art. We had exceptional service and the most delicious pasta and steak. Make sure you pre book!
- Best for: Lunch, Dinner

- Balagan - Such a good time! Great vibes and music, the sort of night you think back on and think that was REALLY fun. Menu is Israeli meets Mediterranean so think lots of sharing plates. Bread is the best I've ever had. Ever! The service isn't good and I wouldn't say it's good for a date night, it's more of a vibey place with a group of friends, accept the service wont be good but expect great food. It's clubby restaurant vibes.
- Best for: Dinner

- Ferdi - It was Bella Hadid who sent me on a trip to Ferdi after she raved about their burger and I have to say her recommendation was top notch. A celebrity hotspot, you'll be sure to spot someone in this small spot but if it's Bella Hadid approved, you bet I'll be trying it.
- Best for: Lunch, Dinner

- Perruche - Super fun and quirky Italian restaurant. A great rooftop so I would go in Summer to make the most of that
Best for: Lunch, Dinner, Drinks

Best French Restaurants In Paris:

- Chez Janou - I was on a hunt to find the best chocolate mousse in Paris and it's true what they say on TikTok. Chez Janou is the best! I went for lunch and it made my whole trip! Honestly ask my friends, I never stop talking about this chocolate mousse. We popped in to get a reservation but you can always speak French to them on the phone to book also.
- Best for: Lunch

- Chez Julien is also similar and meant to rival Chez Janou for famous French Bistro style so worth a try if you want authentic food...
- Best for: Lunch, Dinner

- Bistro Paul Bert - This Bistro has France written all over it. With classic French dishes and interiors that haven't changed for years if you want the most authentic Parisian bistro experience then head on over to Bistro Paul Bert.
- Best for: Lunch, Dinner

- Les Bon Georges - Another restaurant, another chocolate mousse. Lovely tables outside on the sidewalk so during Spring/Summer this would be the perfect place to relax with some wine and chocolate but in Winter it is equally as beautiful and romantic. My favourite restaurant in Paris, the most exquisite meat board, cheese selection and epic wine list. I would eat here every day.
- Best for: meat, cheese, wine and chocolate mousse

- Le Relais De L Entrecote - A super famous French institution and you have to line up for a long time but it's worth it! All they serve is steak frites and it's super affordable for Paris. You get a walnut salad followed by a tender sirloin steak, it's famous secret sauce and delicious fries and you get as many servings as you like!
- Best for: affordable dinner! This would be my best cheap eat in Paris but be prepared to line up

Carette Paris

Best Hot Chocolates In Paris:

- Carette - A famous spot for hot chocolate in Paris. Mmmhmmm, yep everyone is right about the hot chocolate. I also got chocolate cake too. When in Rome... Or Paris in this case!
- Best for: Hot chocolate stop

- Angelina Paris - Another super famous spot, you can't really go to Carette without trying Angelina too. There will always be a large line but people say this is the best hot chocolate spot in Paris.
- Best for: Hot chocolate stop

- Cafe De Flore - Now this is an institution in Paris. It's super touristy, but worth going to even once. It has such a rich history, it's worth just sitting and soaking up the atmosphere. Note to self: don't sit inside, it is quite disappointing! The real atmosphere comes when sitting outside with a hot chocolate, whipped cream and a side of bread. My boyfriend hated this spot but I enjoyed going with my bestie for hot chocolates.
Best for: Breakfast, Coffee or Lunch

- Carousel Paris - Another Insta hot spot,  expect to see lots of tourists in berets...so if you can deal with that, the food is actually quite good. We had hot chocolate and crepes, it's just a lovely spot to sit in the sunshine and people watch. It's a bit of a Parisian institution too.
- Best for: Crepe stop and people watching

Pink Mamma Paris

Best Brunch In Paris

- Season - There's a handful of these situated around Paris but they're great for popping in for Brunch. The menu is super varied so whatever your brunch desire is they'll have you covered. It gives me London / New York vibes for brunch.
- Best for: Brunch

- Cali Uptown - Super cute and really nice food! The pancakes are delicious and they do a really well priced brunch menu where you get a sweet, savoury and two drinks. We loved this spot so much we ended up having a dinner here too - the food was fresh, Californian style and delicious. They did great cocktails too.
- Best for: Brunch, Lunch
Cali Uptown Paris

Best Hidden Gems In Paris

- L'Entredgeu - As French as it comes, we were the only English people in the restaurant {which is a good sign, it means the locals love it!}. I would say go for the Cote Du Boeuf to share, but do not skip out on dessert! I had the Soufflé with melted chocolate poured over and it was divine.
Best for: Dinner

- Django - Matt and I stumbled upon this after a day of wandering around and in desperate need for some food. We ordered an obscene amount of sharing plates and drank one too many Margaritas but it was so fun and one of my most memorable evenings in Paris. Great for sharing plates, seasonal dishes and incredible cocktails. We sat at the bar and had so much fun. It's borderline impossible to get in without a reservation now!
Best for: Nibbles, drinks

- Le Petite Lutetia -  Le Petite Lutetia was a very close contender to best chocolate mousse in Paris! A very classic French bistro. I also need to shoutout their chips because they were amazing... incredible, luxurious French meets Italian brasserie vibes.

- Best for: meat, cheese, wine and chocolate mousse.
*This was a hidden gem until my Tiktok got 2 million views... sorry!*

Best Coffee and Croissants In Paris

Mamiche - My favourite bakery! So delicious, the pastries are all just phenomenal. I make sure I stop here every single time I go to Paris. It's a local spot and very iykyk!

French Bastards - Hehe, I love the name! I had a strawberry tart and it was unreal. Another famous local spot.

KB Coffee - Nice little seating area outside, so good if you've been walking all day and need a rest. They do good sandwiches too.

Cedric Grolet - I adore Cedric Grolet, by far my favourite baker! It's well worth lining up to check out his luxurious creations.

Noir Coffee - Very aesthetically pleasing coffee shop but hits the spot! I also got a cookie from here and it was 10/10.

Frappe Boulangerie Urbaine - Stumbled in here needing coffee and a croissant and found myself going back every morning. They do famous super croissants here!

Phillipe Conticini - This bakery exists in London now too which kind of takes away the fun but if you want to try exceptional pastries, definitely head for Phillipe Conticini bakery! Famous for his New York croissants, check their Instagram for timings though as they always sell out.

Cafe Kitsune - As above, they have one in London now too but the original Cafe Kitsune in Paris is so stunning. I LOVE their iced drinks. Such a gorgeous Instagrammable spot in Paris and they do lovely snacks too.

Mamiche bakery

I wanted to keep it concise and not bombard you with tonnes of restaurants, but also wanted to cover all different budgets, experiences and cuisines mainly showing you my favourite spots in Paris to eat. Paris is one of the best places for food and I'm grateful that I've managed to try so many different places and uncover some hidden gems! If in doubt: grab a crepe or a pizza by the river and enjoy the Eiffel Tower light up. My favourite thing to do for under 10 euros!

If you have any recommendations for me that I can try in the new year then drop me a message over on @emshelx! Would love to hear from you.

Until then, I hope you enjoy your January and keep up to date with all my goings on over on Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and Youtube

Lots of love, Em x
