I feel like the high street just keeps evolving when it comes to beauty, they're really putting designer/high end brands through their paces at the moment and the likes of Armani and Nars are probably quaking in their boots knowing that L'Oreal, Rimmel and more are delivering just as good products, for half the price. Granted, some people prefer the looks of designer brands in their make up bags (I'm guilty of being a Burberry make up obsessive), but once in a while, everyone loves to find a high street favourite right? We've all been ridiculously impressed or ridiculously unimpressed by a product from the high street, likewise with designer products too. I like to mix my reviews up and give you high end reviews and high street because obviously not everyone can afford to pay £35.00 for a foundation but for those who don't mind paying for a foundation, I know that I've always been someone who's spent all my money on 'good' foundations because I used to think that a high price tag equalled a good product, I am going to prove you wrong today. This new number from L'Oreal actually promises a lot, it's completely new to the beauty market and boy is it exciting (I squealed a little bit when I received it). Here is my review of L'Oreal's new Nude Magique Eau De Teint Foundation (what a mouthful)...
Bottle design: This is such a dainty little bottle, what's not to love? I think that this cute little bottle is so elegant and streamline. I personally prefer tubes because you can cut them open when you've got to the end of them, this is glass which means that it looks incredible, but unfortunately glass means that you always lose quite a lot of make up as you can't get it all out at the end.
Texture: Yep it feels just like water, it's a bit surreal and weird actually. I think if this had a pump it would be much easier to use. I still haven't got to grips with it just yet.
Application: It's perfectly smooth to apply, they suggest that you apply it with fingertips. I personally find that it blends much better using my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush but that's just personal preference. L'Oreal suggest that you apply this just like perfume. I love the fact that it's like water, but at the same time, I feel like sometimes I tip far too much out. You literally need the tiniest amount, I'm talking a 10p coin to cover your whole face (and even that's probably too much). It glides all over your face so effortlessly and for some strange reason, it gives incredible coverage whilst still feeling light.
Wearability: I haven't noticed that this slides off my face at all, I've actually been really impressed with how long I've had this on my face for. It seriously just sits there looking beautiful for at least a good 6 hours. I wouldn't say it's quite got the staying power of Vichy's Dermablend, you would need to reapply this if you're wanting a full-face of make up look.
Pros:
- You feel like you haven't got any make up on
- You feel like you haven't got any make up on
- It's so easy to wear
- The bottle is beautiful
- It gives such a beautiful, natural, dewy glow
- It's cheap (RRP: £9.99)
- I personally think it gives a flawless finish
- Very good buildable coverage
- Very easy application
Cons:
- I wish it was a pump action, tend to put too much on my face
- Probably still need some concealer on any dark circles or spots, whilst it is build-able coverage it's not Vichy's Dermablend (review here)... (the best foundation seriously - this one comes a close second).
- The glass bottle means that when you run out of this, there's no squeezing out the remainder
The Conclusion:
I love it, I'll still stick to my trusty Vichy Dermablend on really really bad skin days but when I want to feel light, girlie, fresh and natural yet still look covered up, this is the one for me. Even if I am having a bad skin day, without concealer, this does surprisingly still cover up my imperfections, if you put concealer on with it, you're left looking pretty flawless. I am so beyond impressed with the coverage, I actually let off a huge excited sigh out loud when I applied it, I was very impressed as I expected it to be a bit rubbish and water-like. I wore this on Halloween and it looked great with contouring and lasted all evening, even whilst I was running around, drinking and dancing. I'm a huge fan of light weight foundations and this is as light weight as it gets. Well done L'Oreal - this is just perfect. I'd give this product an 8/10. Thank you so much L'Oreal for randomly sending me this, it brightened up my day (and my face) hehe.
Below are two unedited photos of me wearing this on Halloween. I would upload a photo of me wearing it now but I seem to be having the worst skin week (Sorry!)

Have you ever tried anything like this? Would you want to try this foundation? What's your favourite foundation?
