Ad Affiliate throughout: Hi my loves! So today’s blog post is all about something super luxe that landed on my desk recently and seriously caught my attention, the Prada Beauty Yellow Butter Lip Balm. I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and I can honestly say, it’s not your average lip balm. Think skincare and super chic all wrapped up together.
I know you’ll have so many questions about this viral lip balm and today I'm going to answer them all for you. Butter yellow is having a moment, still and rightly so, Prada have of course tapped into this trend with their banana yellow butter lip balm and here is my review.

Prada Beauty is a relatively new offshoot of the iconic Italian fashion house Prada, which was founded in Milan in 1913. Known for pushing boundaries with fashion, they’ve brought that same creative, almost architectural mindset to their beauty line.
Their cosmetics packaging is minimal, refillable, and undeniably chic clean lines, subtle detailing, and I absolutely adore that signature Prada branding. It feels modern and conscious, and everything is designed with longevity and sustainability in mind.
What is the Prada Yellow Butter Lip Balm?

The Prada Yellow Butter Lip Balm is part of the new Prada Beauty range, which feels like the perfect marriage of high fashion and thoughtful skincare. This buttery balm is a tinted lip product designed to nourish and hydrate while adding a subtle yellow-toned tint (don’t worry at it, it doesn’t actually make your lips yellow, they just have a nice subtle shine to them).
I have to admit, I was skeptical at first, yellow balm? But once applied, it just gives this beautiful, warm, golden undertone to your natural lip colour. It’s super flattering, especially in the summer.
What does the Prada lip balm feel like?
This dreamy lip balm melts into the lips like a balm but has the luxe feel of a high-end lipstick. It’s not sticky or overly glossy, it’s smooth, hydrating, and leaves your lips feeling genuinely nourished. I’ve worn it solo, over a lip liner, and even dabbed it on my cheeks for a touch of glow.
Think of it as your lips, but better.
How much is the Prada Yellow Butter Lip Balm?
Yes, Prada is definitely a luxury buy and at £40 for a lip balm you may think it's pricey but I have to say it is super special.
Where can I buy Prada Yellow Butter Lip Balm?
You can buy it directly from Prada Beauty’s website, or from premium retailers like Selfridges and Harrods.
Is the Prada lip balm good for dry lips?
Yes! As someone who’s always reaching for a lip balm, especially when flying or in aircon, this one absolutely delivers. The formula includes hydrating ingredients like jojoba oil and shea butter, making it amazing for smoothing and repairing dry or chapped lips. I'm going to treat my mum to some for Christmas. She absolutely swears by Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Lip Balm and I think she will find this comparable.
After using it regularly for a couple of weeks, I noticed my lips looked plumper and smoother even when I wasn’t wearing the balm. It’s genuinely skincare in a lipstick bullet.
Is Prada Banana Yellow Butter Lip Balm worth the money?
This was one of my biggest questions. I have so many lip balms, so why spend £40 on another?
Here’s the thing though, if you’re just after basic hydration, you can definitely find cheaper alternatives. But if you love luxury beauty, care about aesthetics, and want something that feels special every time you apply it, then yes, it’s worth every penny. I love pulling this out of my bag. It’s like a little piece of Prada couture in lip balm form.
Does the Prada Yellow Butter Lip Balm have a scent or taste?
I'd say it has a very subtle, almost creamy scent, nothing overpowering or artificial. No noticeable taste either, which I love. It’s the kind of product you forget you’re wearing until someone asks what’s on your lips.
Can you wear it year-round?
Yes! While it gives a golden, sun-kissed finish that’s perfect for summer, the hydrating formula and barely-there tint mean it works just as beautifully in autumn and winter and it's so needed at that time of year. I think it’ll look stunning paired with warm, neutral makeup tones year-round.
Do other shades exist in the Prada balm range?
Yes, the Banana Yellow isn’t the only hue in the Prada Balm family. The full collection includes five sheer, pastel-inspired shades, each offering its own delicate tint and same hydrating benefits. Here is what is available:
Universal A green-toned, colourless balm that gives a natural matte finish. It’s perfect solo or as a primer under other lipsticks.
Astral Pink This cool-toned blue balm transforms into a unique rosy glow thanks to Micro‑Blushing™ technology, interacting with your skin's pH.
Maple A muted nude with warm undertones, meant to subtly enhance your natural lip shade.
Noisette A warm brown-toned nude that adds a richer, earthy tint.
Guava A pinky-mauve nude that flatters wide skin tones with a soft rosy wash.
Would I repurchase the Prada Yellow Butter Lip Balm?
Yes, without a doubt. It’s become a handbag staple for me. The formula is lush, the finish is flattering, and it makes me feel just that little bit elevated when I wear it, even on no-makeup days.
If you're a beauty lover who wants something a little different, the Prada Yellow Butter Lip Balm might just be your next go-to. Whether you're adding it to your luxury beauty collection or simply want a lip product that feels like a treat, I honestly think it's worth the hype.
