Hello everyone! A massive Happy Easter from me and my favourite bunny, Blue (unfortunately I left him and Uni so he's not here to say hi). I thought I'd do an outfit and lifestyle post today, showing you what I've been up to over Easter. Expect fairy cakes, ice cream, the seaside and obviously, chocolate. I love writing lifestyle posts and I absolutely love Easter, I'm such a festive person so I'm really excited to write this post and share what I've been up to with you...
Me and Mum decided to indulge in quite a few cakes this Easter, you may have seen me posting photographs on my Instagram of the beautiful home-made butterfly cakes and scones that we made (eat your heart out Mary Berry!)
I hope you liked this blog post, I really do enjoy writing lifestyle posts (more of them here if you want to read some more! What have you done this Easter? Tell me about your day/week? Do you like the new LVNDR stock? Do you always get fish and chips at the seaside or is that a Northern thing? Who else did an Easter egg hunt? I'm nosey, fill me in!
Lots of love, Em x
Naturally, I licked the spoon clean. I love the taste of baking mixture.
The result was these beautiful butterfly cakes, almost too pretty to eat. We packed them up and took them to the seaside with us.
My Grandma took us to her favourite spot to start the day, a famous star watching spot. Unfortunately, we went in the day time so there were no stars but it was pretty cool to see. I'd love to go back here with my boyfriend and watch the stars for hours. I love laying underneath the stars.
I nearly cried when they said I was too old to ride a donkey (surely no-one is too old to ride a donkey).
So I just stroked the beauties instead. I felt quite sorry for them though, some of them looked pretty sad. I asked Mum if we could re-home them in my garden and she said no. How upsetting.
We grabbed some rock,
and headed to the fish and chip shop, no seaside trip is complete without fish and chips.
Afterwards, feeling a little sick, we stomached ice creams from our favourite ice cream shop.
The lemon twist is pretty good, naturally you have to get two flakes. The seaside was chilly, but nothing beats the breeze at a British seaside, okay, it wasn't really anything on my trip to Vietnam but nothing beats enjoying ice cream with your loved ones and appreciating Britain.
We got home to my garden and the sun was shining...
I put on my Nikes and went for a run around my village in order to try and run off some of the calories eaten throughout the day - it would appear that mine no longer exist but if you're looking for some similar (it's like running bare foot, it's so cool) I'd recommend getting them from the Nike website here, then you know they're not fake - plus there's loads of new gorgeous colours out now - it makes running that little bit more fun. ASOS have some gorgeous ones here too and they're a bit cheaper on ASOS.
On Easter morning, I woke up to this beautiful basket full of treats...
The mini eggs were demolished instead of having any breakfast
and I nibbled on these throughout the day
Chicks and bunnies took over my house...
and Hello Kitty was unfortunately eaten within a matter of minutes...
The One Direction egg however, will be savoured for ever.
My favourite golden bunny came back into my life this morning, which left Blue (my toy bunny) feeling pretty jealous but I assured Blue that there's a place for them both in my life.
A parcel arrived at the door saying: Do not open until 20th April. This was pretty hard and I was given strict instructions not to break the rules. It was worth the wait because the boy did good...
Inside was the most amazing egg from my favourite shop, Hotel Chocolat. I recently visited their chocolate restaurant (Roast and Conch) so I'm pretty obsessed with all things Hotel Chocolat now and I opened this gleaming, I was so happy and excited.
Inside the egg, my favourite chocolates. I am gonna be obese soon... well worth it though.
Next it was time to do an Easter egg hunt in the garden...
Wearing my new pieces from LVNDR... probably not suitable for an Easter egg hunt but they did the job.
and my new LVNDR rings (how gorgeous):
- Love ring (only £3.79, why not wear 6 at once aha!)
I took my new New Balance's out for a spin, so many of you have asked me about these on Instagram! They're like walking on air, so so comfy, I feel like I'm seriously walking in the clouds. I can only find these exact ones in stock here but they have some lovely ones on ASOS here too.
I was inspired to put on my dungarees which has been hiding in my wardrobe since last Summer after seeing some of my favourite bloggers wearing theirs recently. This one is only from Primark but I think this year I'll get one from Topshop instead as this does make me look a lot fatter than I actually am! I bought one from Primark to kind of test it out and see if I liked it or not, I didn't want to spend loads just incase I didn't suit it. I think I'll get more of a slimming one this year as I promise my body doesn't actually look like this. You can buy similar ones here (ASOS, £25), here (Riverisland £19), and here (MissGuided £24).
My top is from Zara, but annoyingly I can't find it on the site. ASOS have some similar though here and here.
I was getting warmer, I could almost taste the chocolate... (not that I needed anymore, I'd already filled up on far too many mini eggs)
Hidden behind the bushes...
More eggs!
I won! Another basket full of eggs.
A celebratory 'throwing my eggs in the air like I just don't care' photo
Super bad thigh angle - time for another gym session I think.
All mine!
We did a special hunt for my Grandma too...
With a Harvey Nichols bag brimming with beauty treats and some eggs at the end.
We sat down for dinner, bunny rabbit napkins at the ready...
Home made Yorkshire puddings... devoured by my Grandad.
Marinated lamb, left over night with garlic, rosemary, lemon juice, oregano and olive oil.
Roasties... and obviously, my Mum's famous mash. No photos because I ate it quicker than I could take a photo.
and then more eggs for dessert.
I've been working really hard on LVNDR this Easter too, I've put lots of my efforts into getting the new Summer collection ready and my house is pretty much filled with lavender (see above) to get me in the mood! The rest of Easter Sunday was spent packaging beautifully wrapped parcels for LVNDR customers, I've got to say, it's one of my favourite things to do now.
We've started using dry lavender on the parcels which I think adds a beautiful new touch. You can see the new collection at LVNDR here.
