This was one of the first things I wanted to know.
It shouldn't and certainly hasn't for me.
The whole idea behind the formula is a gradual, natural-looking tan that harmonises with your complexion rather than producing an obvious orange fake-tan effect. Aroma-Zone specifically states that the serum is designed to give an even result without streaks, spots or orange tones.

This is where it gets particularly interesting.
The key ingredients include:
Organic carrot oil macerate : rich in beta-carotene and used to enhance the healthy-glow effect.
Inositol : derived from carob and included to support the natural synthesis of melanin.
Oligobronze : an algae-derived active designed to stimulate melanin synthesis.
Organic indigo extract : derived from indigo grown in Provence and used to support melanin production without sun exposure.

It's very easy.
Step one: Shake the bottle before applying because it is a two-phase formula.
Step two: Apply it to your face, neck and décolleté.
Step three: Use it morning and/or evening.

No.
This is a DHA-free tanning product.

This is one of the reasons I think it's such an interesting alternative to conventional facial fake tan.
Does Aroma-Zone Carrot Serum contain SPF?
No absolutely not.
This is really important.
Although the serum is designed to create a sun-kissed complexion without sun exposure, it does not contain SPF and does not replace sunscreen. If you're going outside during the day, you still need your usual broad-spectrum sun protection.
A tan is never a substitute for sunscreen.
Can you use Aroma-Zone Carrot Serum with other skincare?
Yes, but there is one important caveat.
Aroma-Zone advises not using it alongside a serum or cream designed to reduce dark spots, because those products can affect melanin production and potentially counteract what this serum is trying to achieve.

This really depends on what you're looking for.
If you want an instant, noticeable tan, a conventional self-tanner will probably be more suitable.
If you want a gradual, natural-looking glow that builds over time, this is where I think the Aroma-Zone serum is so clever.
It gives me that I look well effect rather than screaming I've just applied fake tan.
And personally, that's exactly what I want from facial tanning products. For me, I feel glowing when I've applied it and that's what I love.

It's a two-phase serum, so you shake the bottle before use.
Despite containing an oil phase, Aroma-Zone describes the texture as lightweight, silky and quick-absorbing, with the water phase providing freshness and the oil phase helping to envelop and soothe the skin.
It doesn't have that heavy, oily feeling that you might expect from something containing carrot and other oils.
That's important to me because I want my skincare to feel luxurious but not sit on top of my skin all day.

Again, this is another difference between the serum and a traditional fake tan.
I've used it morning and evening (before bed giving enough time for it to sink in) and I haven't had any discolouring of sheets.

Now for one of my favourite things about Aroma-Zone: the price.

And I think that's incredibly reasonable for what you're getting.
Thirty millilitres is a standard facial-serum size, and you're getting skincare, hydration, glow and gradual tanning in one product.
Prices can obviously change, but £9 is the current price I'm buying at.
Is Aroma-Zone Carrot Serum worth it?
For me, absolutely.
I think the price is one of the easiest things to love about it, but it isn't just cheap for the sake of being cheap. It's the combination of the clever formula, the skincare benefits and the very natural-looking glow that has made me such a fan.
If you're expecting an instant, deep fake tan, this isn't the product I'd choose.
But if you want your skin to look healthier and more radiant immediately and then gradually develop a subtle sun-kissed appearance over time, I think it's brilliant.
Also, at £9, it's also a very low-risk beauty purchase.

After using Aroma-Zone Carrot Serum recently, I can see exactly why this product has caught my attention.
