Whats In My Make Up Bag: August

I love doing 'Whats in my make up bag' style posts because as mentioned before, I do change my make up bag around on a monthly basis. Most of the time I need to use make up products for a month or so to really see if I like them enough to keep in my make up bag. Here are some of the things that have nestled into my make up bag this month, the question is though, will they stay?

This months make up bag is from YSL; one of my favourite brands. I am dying for a YSL clutch but for now, this will have to do (it is pretty gorgeous) it's probably too nice to use as a make up bag, so I may start taking it out as a clutch bag with me instead. The great thing about this is that it's small, so it helps me refrain from throwing everything and anything into my make up bag, it helps keep some order.

The products in my make up bag this month aren't all new products, quite a few of them are ones that I've had for months, but only just rediscovered. Lets start with Benefit's Hello Flawless Powder, I started reusing this after my friend exclaimed her love for it, also, I've run out of my trusty MAC Mineralize powder and to be honest, life is pretty dull without it, as much as I like HelloFlawless, it doesn't give me the sheen or the glow that MAC's mineralize gives me but if you do want a flawless and powdery finish, Hello Flawless is great when you run out of your favourite powder. If you're wanting to try Benefit out but don't like the price, I often use voucher codes from voucherbox (being a student I need them) and they often have great make up vouchers on there so it's worth a try.

Next up is Rouge Bunny Rouge's Bronzing Glow Powder which I was lucky enough to receive at Scarlett London's St Albans blogger meet up. After running out of my mineralize powder, I've had to use this on my cheeks to get the colour as Hello Flawless is more of a neutral face powder (I find it really powdery), whilst  MAC's mineralize finish powder works really well as both a powder and a bronzer, particularly for defining the cheek bones. I've been using Rouge Bunny Rouge as my bronzer this month to replace MAC and I really am impressed with it, it doesn't go grey on the cheeks like some bronzers do.

When it comes to foundations, I've still not found my perfect foundation, I'm starting to think Dior's Forever is my ultimate foundation and I will be re-buying that next month. This month though,I've been using my Rouge Bunny Rouge Liquid Foundation which is very good, it's very light coverage but now my skin is better, I can finally wear light foundations again. Thank you Rouge Bunny Rouge for sending me this. I also bought Maybelline's anti-shine stick foundation the other day too, I fell for it after watching it on an advert. I have to say that it is pretty shiny so I'm not sure how they can call it an anti-shine stick, this doesn't bother me as I don't mind having a bit of a glow and you can always hide it with powder. It does give really good coverage but I do feel that it makes your pores stand out quite a lot because of the thick texture of it. Do go to Boots and put some on your hand and let me know how you feel about this, I'm undecided so will do a full review in a few weeks.
Inside my make up bag this month is Benefit's Porefessional primer. I have had this in my life for quite some time now, but only just started really getting to grips with it. I have a love hate relationship with this product, sometimes it really does make my make up stay on longer and make my skin look flawless, without the need to even apply make up over the top, but other times it just makes me look a bit greasy. I was lucky enough to receive L'Oreal's new 'Line Of Beauty' liners and I've been glued to the eye brow pencil. It's great because it has a brush on the top to tidy the brow and a seal on the other end to keep your brows neat and to keep the colour in place. I never really do my eye brows, but this month, that all changed. It's crazy how much it changes my face just from colouring them in the tiniest bit, I'm not an expert when it comes to doing eye brows but this makes me feel like one.

Next it's all about the lip products.  I've had the Filast Lip Filler for quite some time now after I got one in my North Meet Up goodie bag, but I've only just really got back into it. I absolutely envy anyone with full lips and this promises to make my lips fuller, naturally, the more that I wear it. I'm not someone who would ever get surgery so I'll stick to using this for now, I keep applying it all day every day. Then there is that beautiful One Direction Lipstick which you've probably seen me raving about. I am actually obsessed with it. One Direction released their make up line not that long ago and whilst most people laughed about it, I went out and bought it all and speaking about it from a make up point of view: their lip colours are incredible. They stay on, they're vibrant and they do what they're meant to do, emphasise the lips (plus they're only £3.00). The one below, designed by Niall Horan isn't the most vibrant, that's why I love it, it's my kind of colour, natural but lip-filling and pretty.
Last but not least, I always fancy a bit of gold on my eyes, just inside the tear duct as it just brightens up my pupils. This month I've been using Atlier Paris' little Star Light Pot to keep me looking bright, even on tired days.

I hope you liked my make up bag this month. I'd love to know whats in yours or whether you've used anything from my make up bag before? Is there anything you'd like to try?

Lots of love, Em x

P.S, I've been shortlisted for the Cosmopolitan 'best new beauty blog' award and I am speechless, I'd love to have your vote. You can vote for me here. 22. I love the YSL bag. In fact, anything from YSL is dreamy! I swatched the Maybelline stick foundation too and couldn't make my mind up, I watched a Youtube review of it that said it was really blendable but felt a bit strange on my hand, I'll probably avoid it to be honest!
