Hello everyone:) So, It's been a while since I went crazy and did a haul at all really, firstly, i'm really ill from the BAFTA's, the rain was just too much for me and I definitely got hypothermia, so bare with me for that blog post! But, also, I've recently realised that I own too many cosmetics, but, when did that ever stop us women from treating our selves to more? Never, I hear you say. The day was Thursday 14th February. Or, better known to most as, Valentines day (gulps). So single (lonely) me (violins please), decided to show myself some love and take a trip to Boots. Well, I did just get a new advantage card, and it needed abusing. But, it was definitely worth it...
SmashBox Try It Kit - £19.00 - I've wanted to try some Smash Box stuff for far far too long now, my brothers girlfriend used to work there and she's told me all about their products so I knew what I was looking for. I bought this starter kit which was £19.00. That is really good value, but then again, is it? When all you get is teeny tiny-may as well be free samples inside? Furthermore, I doubt i'll ever use the lipgloss and to my mistake, that isn't a concealer, it's an eye lid primer. Meh, who needs one of those? I wanted to try the primer anyway, apparently voted the best in the world or something? At the moment, i'm really not that keen. I don't think my make up has stayed on longer whatsoever. It does seem to look smoother and more 'prepped' but no, this does not make my make up stay on longer. I'm sure that's the job of a primer? Hm.
These were just bits and pieces that whilst I was getting overly excited and bouncing around the store with my basket in my arms, happened to erm, accidentally fall into my basket.
Real Techniques - Expert Face brush - £9.00 - Ahh can you really go wrong for £9.00!? It's sad to say, but in today's age, £9.00 is equivalent to nothing really, so this is beyond cheap for a decent make up brush. Bloggers and Vloggers everywhere rave when reviewing Real Techniques brushes and I fell into the trap and bought one! Even though I don't need any new brushes. I was going to buy the starter set which is only £21.00 but it doesn't include this brush and it was this face brush that I really wanted. I've got to say, I am ridiculously impressed. I always usually apply my make up with my fingers, but this brush gives such a natural and even finish and also makes my face less shiny. The brush hasn't shedded at all so I don't get hairs all over my face. I'd put it on a parr with my Mac make up brushes.
Eau Thermale - Thermal Spring Water - £3.15 - Now, I had no idea what this was, but it was on special offer and they did teeny ones like mine, or medium sized ones, or absolutely huge ones. I fell for it because it's made in Paris and right I was to fall because it's absolutely amazing. When I read up on it, this is basically a hero spray, a magical toner type spray which you can literally use for anything, from sunburn to acne, to finish cleansing, to soothe, to set make up, to hydrate - yeah it ticks all the boxes. I wonder if i'll prefer this to my £40-something pound toner from Dermalogica? I love the simplicity of this product, and the price point. I think this will be in my hand bag all Summer long.
La Roche-Posay - Nutritic Lip Balm - £6.00 - I love having pretty lipbalms in my bag and my Cauldalie one broke on a night out and ever since i've been lost without it. This was £6.00 which is quite expensive but it says its 'transforming care for very dry lips' and what's not to love when it's a French brand? I do prefer my Caudalie one as I feel it had a wetter more vaseline type texture even thought it was still shaped like a lipstick, this one is quite dry and it doesn't feel as good for your lips.
Collection 2000 - Lasting Perfection Concealer - £4.19 - I bought this after hearing lots of bloggers rave about it, but unfortunately, and disappointingly for me, it won't replace my Mac Studio Fix concealer. I think the colour of this product looks grey on my face and it doesn't really conceal, it just sort of sits there. I got it in the medium tone and if I was to buy it again I'd go for the lightest shade.
Dior Blush - £30 - Because it was Valentines day, I decided I'd treat myself to a make over at the Dior counter. I went for the daytime look and I absolutely loved how the make up artist did my make up. Particularly my cheeks, and that's why I bought this. I'm not usually a blusher fan but this seems to suit my skin tone and it actually looks more bronzed when it's on the skin than pink. I also love the packaging, naturally!
All Saints Bonny Cuban Boots - £165 - Aahh, I've wanted these for ages, I think it's time to throw my holey Uggs away and start wearing something classy but comfy. Whilst the price tag isn't too pretty, these beauties are great quality and I just love how they look and feel. They make any outfit look classy. I can't wait to wear these in spring with pretty pleated dresses. Yes please.
Macadamia Tunnel Vent Brush - £15.50 - Aahh now if you know me you'll know that I love Macadamia and I was lucky enough to get this as well this week! What an amazing belated Valentines Day gift. If you haven't read my reviews of Macadamia's amazing hair care range, you can find it if you click here. This brush is an oil tunnel vent brush which means that it allows air flow to circulate and root level and thus, speeds up drying time. I love how Macadamia products speed up the annoying drying process! It's also anti-static and anti-bacterial so perfect for hair health.
