YSL Touche Eclat Review VS L'oreal Lumi Magique Highligting Pen

YSL TOUCHE ECLAT - RADIANT TOUCH REVIEW

YSL's Touche Eclat is something which i've been meaning to review and buy for a long time now. I've put it off for so long because at £25.00 it is pricey for such a small highlighting pen. However, millions of women can't be wrong. I decided to buy L'oreal's dupe version first, to see if I really needed a highlighting pen in my life, but then for my birthday, I was lucky enough to get this product. I got this product in December, at the end of December and it's just run out, so that means i've only had about a month and a half out of it, however, this is good in comparison to the 2 maybe 3 weeks that you get from L'oreal's version, however, I really did expect for this to last a lot longer, I can't afford to keep restocking on this every month or so, and i'm sure you'll agree. I think in terms of how well the product works, it's a lot thicker than L'oreal's version and you do need to use less of it to have good coverage in comparison to the dupe versions. I got the standard colour in it and I think it was absolutely fine, you're meant to get highlighters lighter than your foundation anyway in order to conceal and highlight and this really does brighten under bag eyes. In terms of the packaging, of course this is nicer than L'oreals as it's heavier and golder, it just feels more expensive and high end, but so it should for the price tag.

L'OREAL LUMI MAGIQUE HIGHLIGHTING PEN REVIEW

L'oreal's dupe version of the touche eclat is something which i've raved about numerous times, you can read my full on reviews of this product here. Like i've said above, this product really annoys me because it runs out so quickly, it may only be £8-£10.00, but when it runs out after nearly 2 weeks and needs replacing so often, it makes it not really worth it. I feel that the intensity of it is a lot lighter than YSL's touch eclat, unfortunately you do have to apply a lot more to have an affect. I prefer the thickness/consistency of YSL's, this is quite weak. In terms of packaging, I think this is cheap and plasticy, I think instead of fully trying to copy off YSL, they could have made it a nice black and white stick, this would have looked professional and expensive, as that's the product that they're trying to recreate. To be honest, I think I will continue to buy this over YSL's touch eclat, even though this runs out a lot quicker, YSL's touch eclat didn't last that much longer than this, and I do think £25.00 is really expensive for something which is copied. You may have to apply more of L'oreals, but for £8.00, i don't think that really matters, hopefully this product will continue to get cheaper as L'oreal introduce more products to the market. I think i'll buy the touche eclat on aeroplanes next time because duty free I think it's only around £20.00, and you can't go wrong with how pretty it looks in your make up bag. Both products do the job, they really do brighten the eye area, I just find YSL's more concealing whilst L'oreal's version is lighter and more highlighting. I'm sure Kim Kardashian uses something like this to give her that gorgeous highlighting and contouring make up look that i'm so in love with.

I hope you found this helpful. Have you used any of these products? What are your favourite highlighting products? Lots of love, Em xxx
