So today I fly to Greece to do some exciting blogging by the sea, it's all very last minute but I didn't want to leave without giving you a little holiday essentials post. I really want to talk to you about a few of the things that are in my bag this time!
Triangl Bikini - As most of you will know and have probably seen on my Instagram, I love Triangl, I have so many of their bikinis now - I need the whole collection in my life though. I was kindly sent this one for my trip and I am obsessed with it. White works so well with a tan, I cannot wait to wear it. Obviously you can't really go on holiday without a bikini can you?! I love going swimming and know that I'd be lost without a swimming costume or bikini!
Bronzer - My foundation is always a little too light for me on holiday (I wear foundation on nights out on holiday when I don't have a tan on my face, usually just for the first two days or so) so I think taking a good bronzer with you is really important as then you can make your foundation match your tan a little bit more. Bronzer is the easiest way to just instantly warm up your face. I love the intensity of this Rock Attraction bronzer (shade: steady honey) by Kiko. He-Shi's bronzing powder is also an amazing one for holidays because it's got added shimmer in it and you can make it quite intense (read about that here).
A Go-Pro (or a camera!) - Obviously I'll be taking my camera with me so that I can capture my adventures. I also love my GoPro, it's a Hero3 Black Edition with a waterproof case so I can take it swimming with me! I used it in my Vietnam vlog here underwater and seriously had so much fun with it! You can buy the Black Edition Hero 3 here for around £300 or the silver edition for around £250 here. Well worth the money, you can get loads of cool accessories for your GoPro here and I've already got a list of things that I want to add to mine! Skiing with the GoPro will be happening soon!
Shower Treats - I think this is essential for Summer/holidays, I seem to spend half my life in the shower on holiday, either scrubbing sand off my skin or cooling down from a long day at the beach. The Body Shop's new body sorbets are designed to be frozen and then put onto the body, they literally cool my skin down amazingly, it's like putting ice-cream on my body but it smells better and it's insanely moisturising. These body sorbets are a dream come true - unfortunately they're not released until July though so I can't top up my supplies just yet. Once these come out, run to your nearest store and buy them, they sink into my skin amazingly and are probably one of the best beauty inventions yet.
Body Lotion - This is a major yes-yes beauty product that you should be taking on holiday with you. I slather so much body butter/body lotion/oil on my body on an evening after I've been sunbathing. It means my tan will last longer! I absolutely love this new tiare & jasmine silky body lotion that was kindly sent to me by the lovely team at Liz Earle. Not only does it smell amazing, it's super duper moisturising, it lasts for ages, my skin literally drinks it up AND the packaging is to die for. If that doesn't excite you, it's also over 97% naturally derived, so it's super good for you too! What more could you want from a body lotion?! You can slather this on my skin all day every day.
I also love this Cocoa Butter oil by The Body Shop (their Summer releases are top notch). I was kindly sent this to try and it's firmly in my suitcase ready to use all over my body. I love using oil on holiday because it feels like it's really hydrating and sinking into my skin better than lotions sometimes. My two favourite things are put together within this little bottle of delight: cocoa butter and oil. I adore cocoa butter, I'm absolutely obsessed with it, add some oil too and wow, that's a recipe for seriously dreamy skin. You can use this on your face and hair too, so it's pretty much a dream product for travellers - 3 in 1 baby!
Nail varnish - I love cute nail varnish colours and this is no exception. I've loved this MUA mint colour forever now and can't see myself ever falling out of love with it. I did a full review of it quite some time ago here. Summer nails are the best.
Hair accessories - My hair just tends to get in the way on holiday so I like to use lots of headbands and pretty hair bows to make my massive buns look less offensive. I love this hair bow (from LVNDR of course). It's so cute and Summery, bring on the headbands!
Sunglasses - Stupidly I've forgotten to pack my sunglasses for my holiday - don't do a me and do that! Take your sunglasses! An absolute holiday essential! Perfect for covering up dark circles from the night before and obviously, perfect for protecting your eyes from the rays of sunshine!
Protect your lips - I really think that lip balm and moisturising lipsticks are key for holidays, otherwise the sun really dries out your lips. We tend to forget about our lips whilst abroad (I do anyway) but this year, I will make sure my lips are the smoothest, plumpest lips ever to see the sunshine. I've been in love with this Clarins Eclat Minute lip balm for years now. It is so hydrating and plumping. I can't get enough. Say hello to gorgeous lips!
A Good Book - Holiday's are for relaxing after all! I love reading magazines and books on holiday. At the moment, I'm reading Sophie Kinsella's Wedding Night, it's addictive so far. I love Sophie's books and always have, really good holiday reads, easy to get stuck into.
BB Cream - No-one wants to be sweating in foundations whilst on holiday! I swear by BB Creams in the Summer, I wrote a guide to BB creams quite some time ago which is a good place to start if you're looking at getting a BB cream this Summer (you should do, they're great!). This new one from The Body Shop is my favourite kind of BB cream, it comes out white and then adapts to the colour of your skin. I love these kind of BB Creams.
Mini Travel Kits - Travel kits are your best friend when you're going away! On my trip to Vietnam, I took so many miniatures, miniature Charles Worthington, miniature Clarins - it means that you don't weigh your suitcase down with toiletries and you can take all the little bits and bobs you fancy and not waste anything. I love this amazing beauty bag from Aromatherapy Associates (one of my favourite brands ever).
Kits are great because they usually come in really good, travel friendly make up bags - I usually end up using these sturdy, flight friendly bags as my full-time make up bags. This one is such a beautiful bag. My eyes lit up when I saw it, so so beautiful.
This one contains all you need, a muscle gel, a body gel and a rose body wash, as well as a rose body cream. This is the weekender bag and it only costs £24.00, perfect for a cheeky weekend away. A massive thank you to the AA team for letting me check out their new beauty bags - I want them all in my life please. I also love Korres for amazing travel sets. You can usually pick up some great travel sets in your airport too and then throw them straight into your hand luggage!
Lastly, let's not forget some fashion inspiration... you can't just take one bikini with you after all can you?
What are your holiday essentials? (obviously suntan cream!) Do you like the look of any of the above? Would you use anything I've mentioned? Are you going on holiday this year?
Lots of love, Em x
