Benefit Fake Up Concealer Review and Benefit Blogger Event!

On Friday evening I was kindly invited to the launch of Benefit's new product 'Fake Up' concealer. As you can see above though, I came home with a lot more than just the concealer. The kind ladies at Benefit were being extra generous and decided to give us the concealers in 3 shades, plus, being the keen beauty blogger that I am, I won some more amazing prizes for answering some questions correctly about their products! I haven't actually used Benefit's products in a long time, or even been to a Benefit counter because I feel that when I was younger, I had every product and exhausted all of my wage at their counters, but Benefit have come back with a completely new product range since the last time that I looked, and wow... they don't half impress...

The lovely ladies had put on some incredible champagne, orange juice and water for the non drinkers and the most amazing canapes. The event was held at my favourite hotel, the Malmaison in Leeds. If you ever get a chance to go then you must go and look around the hotel, the interior is incredible. It's the same at the Manchester Malmaison, I went to a Xen-Tan blogging event there are it was just beautiful. I need to stay there one night.

The ladies who put on the event for us were lovely, as you can see above, we watched demonstrations of how to use the concealer and she even taught us how to contour which is something that I really need to learn as I keep trying to recreate Kim Kardashian's make up look and contouring is key if you want to look like her. One really interesting tip that she gave me, which really is just common sense, is to put the concealer on underneath your foundation in the contour lines that you want, and then to apply the foundation in the same direction as the contour lines. You can contour really well if you use all three shades of the Fake Up concealer.

(How amazing are the cushions! We were told that they do them for every single product, woweee.) I spent the night with the lovely Remi from RemiesLuxuryBlog and it was amazing to catch up with her. I have various photos of us holding these cushions but I don't like any of the photos haha. Make sure you check her out anyway, she's a complete babe.

There were two products which when testing, I immediately fell in love with, these were the Girl Meets Pearl Illuminator and the Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow. I tried both of these products on my hand and they are now going on my wish list. The Girl Meets Pearl product is like an illuminator and you just need to go and try it to see how good it looks on, it's got a gorgeous silver sheen to it and again, gives the Kim Kardashian flawless make up look. The Flawless Oxygen foundation even managed to make my hand look flawless, so I can't wait to get this and try it on my face.

Okay so now onto the Fake Up concealers. This product launches at the end of March and will cost around £18.00. It is a hydrating concealer which hides dark circles in an instant, can be used for contouring and diffuses lines. I was told that when compared to YSL's touche eclat, this product had the same, if not better and longer lasting effect. I was also told, that at fashion shows, this product has been used all over a models face before to give a flawless finish. What I love about this product though, is that you can literally do anything with it, it's so multifunctional. I've even managed to contour with it because they're so slick and easy to use. This product feels like it's actually doing something good for your skin, because it's so hydrating and full of good ingredients, it doesn't feel like you're caking concealer onto your skin and ruining skin issues that you're trying to fix. It's crazy that something so light weight and pretty can cover up practically anything, with one little application. I love these concealers.

(shade dark - as you can see, it really does look hydrating, with the waxy/hydrating part of the concealer being around the actual concealer).

Above are three products that I was lucky enough to pick up on the day for answering questions correctly. Once i've got to grips with the products, i'll be doing full reviews of them. Can't wait to tell you all about them.

Lots of love,
Em
