How To Love Your Hair - How To Fix Damaged Hair

I absolutely adore my hair. There we go, I said it. It's frowned upon to say 'nice things' about ourselves but in a world full of hate and, many of us struggling with confidence, it's important to practice self-love. Believe me, it's taken me years to be in a position where I love my hair but I'm so glad I took the time to cherish it and work with it, I'm finally getting to where I want to be with it. Side note: getting your hair into a healthy position will never happen overnight if it's as damaged as mine was, we're talking years. If you've followed me for some time, I'm sure you know all about my hair story, from really bad hair extensions to trying literally every hair extension on the market to find the best ones, to my hair refusing to grow and having bald patches. My hair extensions were like a curtain of confidence for me and without them I felt really ugly, for a very long time. I'm finally cherishing and embracing my hair, loving it too. Bad hair days have ruined my confidence, trivial, but true. I've been there, done that. We've all had those days where we destroyed our hair as teens and I feel lucky that my hair has forgiven me in time. Believe me, it was hard not to crumble and just go back to extensions but finally, I have my own thick, medium length hair which is dare I say it, *growing quicker and quicker by the day* and I'm gonna talk you through some of the things I've done to get my hair back into good condition.

Judgement And Online Hate

white maxi dress with split

Hello hello hello! I've had this post ready to publish for quite a few weeks now, but I've been wondering whether or not to post it, I've hovered over the 'publish' button for far too long. I've decided to go for it only after reading my friend Victoria, from InTheFrow's post about how much words can hurt, (sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me is such an old school saying and emotional abuse/abuse via words is just as bad and damaging as physical abuse). The wonderful Victoria talks more eloquently about further things on the subject so please open that up and have a read too. Without her posting that, I wouldn't have ever published this. I guess the real reason I've been so indecisive when writing this post in the first place and then clicking publish is because as the saying goes ‘don’t feed the trolls'. Online 'trolls' absolutely live for attention, they thrive off it and it only makes them feel like they're achieving something. Let's be honest, you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't, you could censor your whole life and someone will still find something negative to say online. Rather than ‘feeding the trolls’ then, I guess today my post will be all about a darker side of the internet and breaking this down a little. Let’s discuss.

10 Things I'd Tell My Younger Self About University

university of Leeds graduation
Hello hello! Today I thought I'd do a post featuring the 10 things I'd tell my younger self about University. I know a lot of you guys are just starting University or maybe pushing through second year, thinking about doing a year abroad or even battling with third year dissertations, I thought this post might help you. I graduated in July last year (read about my graduation day) so thought I'd do this from a looking back point of view.

Issho Japanese Restaurant Review Leeds

issho Leeds sushi

No matter where I am in the world, Yorkshire will always be home. I grew up in Yorkshire and studied at the University of Leeds so it’s definitely gives me those cosy homely vibes. For me, home is where the heart is and after growing up in Yorkshire, then studying in Leeds and living in Canada, it's safe to say I have a few places around the world that truly feel like home. I seem to spend 50% of my time in London and 50% in Leeds at the moment but it's always a pleasure to be back up North. If you’re Northern, you’ll know just how incredible Leeds has become over the last few years and is still, becoming on a monthly basis. I can barely keep up with all the new openings. I’ve always had high hopes for Leeds and definitely spent most of my time at University telling people how brilliant it is, or, had the potential to be. It seems, month after month, more epic restaurants are opening in Leeds and you will have hopefully seen that I recently visted a number of restaurants as part of Leeds Restaurant week. At the time I visited Issho Rooftop Restaurant and Bar and loved it so much, I promised myself I would be back soon. Fast forward and I’ve now been three times (hopefully a fourth for my brothers birthday later this month as it's now also his favourite restaurant). It only makes sense then that I give you a full review of Issho, the new addition to the Leeds restaurant scene and in my opinion, one of the best restaurants to hit Leeds in the last few years.

Hello hello! Hope you are well today! I just got out of a yoga class and a spin class and feel incredible mentally (all before 9am) so felt this post was very relevant today. Carmel By The Sea - La Playa Carmel

Shop the bikini / sunglasses - UK and USA link.

Our incredible California road trip seems like forever ago. We grabbed too many suitcases, hopped on our Norwegian flight and before we knew it, we were in San Francisco. We visited so many different places on our month long road trip and stayed at over 11 properties so apologies from me as my posts from the trip are taking quite some time to get through. The most important one though, my top tips for planning a West Coast California road trip, is one you should start with! I go through each place we visited, where we stayed and what we really thought of all the stops on a road trip, aqs well as talking you through our exact itinerary, budgets for a California road trip and more. If you are planning to do a California road trip, definitely give it a read! Today though, I'm writing a post I've been itching to write for a weeks. We headed to Carmel By The Sea, against everyones advice (we were told it was boring not worth stopping at which is totally fine as we all have our own opinions) but I couldn't be more glad we stopped here. Read why.

Easy, Healthy, Yogurt Recipes!

blonde balayage curls hair
When I was at University, I always tried to focus on finding delicious but nutritious snacks. My trolley in the supermarket would usually be rammed with the same things every week, cottage cheese, oats, bananas, spinach and my favourite yogurt, Onken. I was reminded of Onken the other day when I was watching TV on demand (Made in Chelsea, guilty) and noticed an advert about new personalised yogurts. The advert certainly worked and I fell for it and suddenly remembered how much I loved Onken at University, needless to say, the next day, I'd bought a tub and felt nostalgic. whilst tucking into it. Today I wanted to show you a few of my favourite health recipes using yogurt. I feel like I'm getting back on it this month with my health, finally back to my David Lloyd spin classes and I’m trying to fuel my body with filling, good snacks. Read on…

Refreshing My Fitness Goals For October

Back in August I introduced #EmsChallenge, a few things I decided to do differently and of course, you guys were of course invited to join me. I just felt it was a great way to get my mojo back and hopefully push and inspire each other. I don’t believe in deprivation but I wanted to move more, cut a few things out and see if I felt a bit better in myself. You know what? It really worked. I consciously made an effort to try new activities (finally got myself back to yoga and picked up swimming again), smile at people more and ate better foods, not less! Setting goals and promises to myself really meant I achieved my goals and pushed myself out of my comfort zone, which is why this month, I guess I want to talk about a few things I’ve continued to do in September and will continue doing in October. See this as a kind of follow on post for those of you who fancied taking the challenge and for those of you who didn’t, feel free to do it in October instead! Thanks to Robinsons Refresh’d for challenging me to do this again in October.

A Homeware Haul!

Hello hello! If you read my blog post back in July about my house move, (or have watched any of my vlogs!) you'll know that the house hunt is well and truly underway and in true me style, I've bought lots of stuff for my house, even though I don't yet own a house. Logical yep? Typical me. I went on a bit of a treasure hunt earlier this month and couldn't be more excited to show you some of the things I picked up. Hands up if you love interior shopping as much as I do?! I'm a self-obsessed homeware addict. Come shop with me!

A Night Of Scandal With Jean Paul Gaultier Fragrance At The Ned

for love and lemons lace dress
Exact dress here / similar here / the brand here

What's the most scandalous thing you've ever done? Think about it, you don't have to tell me. Scandal has a different meaning for each person, what's scandalous for me, may be totally angelic for you and I think that's why I like it. You can be cheeky and scandalous in your own way, whether it's feeling super confident in a new dress, spritzing your new perfume or applying that red lipstick, the one that makes you feel so scandalous. For some, it may be having one too many martinis, or, losing a shoe like Cinderella on that night you can't remember. Being scandalous, actually means 'being disgracefully bad' but, this doesn't always have to be negative. It reminds me of endless giggles, cheekiness and girls nights out. Last week I was invited to an evening of Scandal with Jean Paul Gaultier so naturally, I put a new lipstick on and a lace dress. I headed to The Ned for an evening of surprises...

Stockholm Weekend Travel Guide - How To Do Luxury Stockholm On A Budget

mustard suede missguided jacket

Jacket / Trousers / Sunglasses

I promised to try and see more of Europe on my travels this year. European wise so far this year, I finally ticked off some of Italy, have visited Barcelona a few times and I'm heading back to Greece. It seems my adventures usually take me to America or to tropical climates (totally fine) but there's still so much of Europe I need to explore. I'm close to ticking off 30 countries in my short lifetime but there's still so much of Europe I'm yet to see. Copenhagen, more of Italy and Mykonos are firmly on my list. The opportunity came around to visit Stockholm recently and I couldn't say no. I've never visited Sweden before and I do enjoy being able to tick a new country off my list! Read more.

Why Hydrating The Skin Is Important + Simple Waterboost Range Review

 Simple Waterboost Range Review
Top - online here.

As someone who travels a lot, hydration is one of the things I look for the most within my skincare. If I’m not travelling, I’m usually between climates in the UK (one day it’s hot, the next day we’ve got rain) and it’s not good for the skin. Today I thought I’d review the new Water Boost range from Simple and talk about the importance of skin hydration.

Keep Fit For A Good Cause

I often feel like I need to be seriously motivated to push myself to work out, I guess that's why I love fitness classes so much. I used to be really good at self motivation and some days, I can really push myself, take my spin class this morning, I totally powered through and smashed a personal best. Usually, the days when I feel like I can’t be bothered working out, end up being my best work out days weirdly. I always say the hardest bit about working out is getting yourself there in the first place! Today, I’m inviting you to get involved in something with me, something that should hopefully motivate you to work out over the next few months. I know this is going to motivate me big style to get my fitness levels up for a great cause. I can’t believe how many of you got involved with Em’s challenge throughout August (yup, I didn’t drink wine for 31 whole days!!!!) so now, I’m inviting you to do some exercise this month alongside me! See it as a challenge for a great cause and it means you can keep really fit too in the process.

fenty beauty first lookJumper online here / Trousers online here and here

Today is an exciting day for the beauty world, Rihanna has launched Fenty Beauty, a global make up brand, in 17 countries. Exciting huh? If I'm honest, it wasn't until I discovered more about the brand and watched the advert that I got really excited. Rihanna has developed a brand that a lot of people are talking about and it's for good reasons. Today is the day and Fenty beauty has finally launched in 1,600 stores across 17 countries! I'm sure a lot of you have seen the advert for this going around on social media, one of the best adverts I've seen from a beauty brand. Fenty Beauty by Rihanna was created to work across all skin types an tones, with Rhianna's mandate of inclusivity, it offers a wide range of products for traditionally hard-to-match skin tones, which is great. It really is designed to be an inclusive brand. I was invited down this morning to have a first look at the products and test them so here you go, a first look at Fenty Beauty by Rihanna.

Chosen By Nicole Scherzinger Review & Nicole Scherzinger Top Beauty & Wellbeing Tips

MISSGUIDED WHITE LACE MIDI SKIRT

Skirt / Top / Heels - at St Martins Lane, London.

It's not every day you get the chance to interview an ultimate girl boss and inspirational superstar. I've looked up to Nicole Scherzinger for quite some time, not just because her style is incredible but because of her positive aura too. As I've grown up, I've found myself being inspired by people for a number of different reasons. I find Nicole inspirational in so many ways, not to mention, the video she created on the day for my friend Dean Eastmond, something he saw before he sadly lost his fight to cancer. She didn't have to do it, but she grabbed my phone and asked if she could send him a video message after asking how he is. It's my pleasure today to share an interview with the lady herself and give you a first look at her new fragrance, Chosen by Nicole Scherzinger.

Today I wanted to talk about why breakfast is so important and give you an update on some of my favourite breakfasts.

Armani Ecstasy Shine Lipstick Review And Swatches

armani lipstick review

Jumper online here / Lipstick online here and here.

It's always a good day when one of your favourite beauty brands brings out a new exciting launch. I was invited to Selfridges earlier this week to celebrate the launch of the brand new Ecstasy Shine lipstick collection by Armani. Ecstasy Shine launched literally days ago and I'm yet to see any swatches or full reviews so I thought I'd take one for the team and write this post. If you've watched any of my vlogs, you'll know I'm a complete sucker for new lipsticks. I'm an even bigger sucker for lipstick collections. I have a lipstick shelf, full of all my favourite brands because I collect them. Some people collect stamps, I collect luxury lipsticks. There's something so satisfying about them all sitting pretty on a shelf together. Let's talk about the new Ecstasy Shine Lipsticks by Armani.

Not Feeling Good Enough...

aspinal Lottie bag
Dress - similar and similar / Bag / Hair by Sassoon

Hello hello hello! Good morning, good afternoon, wherever you are. So, today I wanted to write a post about not feeling good enough, mainly, to let you know, that you are good enough. I wanted to just put a rambly personal post live this weekend because hey, why not. A few things have happened recently and if I’m honest, they’ve really knocked my confidence. We all have a few confidence melt downs, which is totally okay, but just know, you really are good enough. I put 110% into everything I do and I’ve felt a little bit wobbly over the last week for a variety of reasons so I guess I wanted to tackle that and talk about it because we are good enough. We all have those days, those ‘I’m not good enough days’ and it’s so important to talk about them. P.S, whilst I've got you, click here and sign up to my new newsletter. It goes out every Friday morning full of random bits and bobs just for newsletter subscribers. I'd love to have you!!!

Using Music To Get Me Through The Day Efficiently

Music is something that’s been in my life forever and it’s something I’ve never really talked about too much. We all listen to music, on our radios, on our phones but how often do we talk about it? From the days of MySpace where we’d put a song on our profile to reflect our mood and the days where I’d sit and giggle all night long with my friends to the latest hits, or those times I’d make up ridiculous dance moves to a Britney song. Music has really been there through my whole life. Right now, there are a lot of ways music helps me through my day and I wanted to talk about them in collaboration with Light* & Free and Spotify. From working out, being productive and more, don’t underestimate the power of music to get you through the day.  P.S, whilst I've got you, click here and sign up to my new newsletter. It goes out every Friday morning full of random bits and bobs just for newsletter subscribers. I'd love to have you!!!

Life Changing Moments & People

You might click on this article and wonder what it’s about, it’s a different topic for me, but a personal post and one I think everyone will benefit from. I don’t really write about celebrities and I’ve certainly never written a whole post about one person before but today, that’s going to change. We live in a world where we moan, a lot (which is normal) but I'd like to spread some positivity and celebrate the good people and things in life. I want the world to know about a pretty special person called Dean Eastmond. I’m going to tell you a story, a story to motivate, inspire and hopefully, touch you. I’m going to introduce you to someone who has impacted so many lives and made me a better person and seriously, I think he will do the same to you too. I don’t think he even realises just how inspirational he is. I was lucky enough to meet Dean in Magaluf (don’t ask but without that trip, I may not even know Dean) and you know what, I always wish I got to know Dean more in the short time we had there. I don’t really know who I was back then, but I certainly wasn’t who I am today. Dean giggled along with us, danced along with us and I remember thinking how sweet and genuine he was. Luckily, thanks to social media, we've stayed in touch. It’s people like Dean who have helped to shape me into the person I am today. This post isn’t about me though, it’s about Dean but I genuinely believe he entered my life to change me and make me want to help others. Read more.

Personal Shopping At Selfridges, Designer Try On Haul & A Day In Manchester

self portrait white lace dress
It's not every day you get to enjoy Selfridges all to yourself, okay, almost all to myself. I spend the majority of my time in London, closely followed by Leeds and actually, rarely Manchester anymore so it was great to head back to Manchester last week. My excuse for going to Manchester is usually to see Lee, my hairdresser at Sassoon. I do really like Manchester, the restaurant scene is epic and, it's home to my favourite hotel too. Come personal shopping with me in Selfridges and see what I got to try on: spoiler, I'm in love... P.S, whilst I've got you, click here and sign up to my new newsletter. My Exercise Routine

Hello hello! So today I wanted to talk about my updated exercise routine but also, talk about the importance of balance within an exercise routine. So many people push the idea of doing constant HIIT and working out, but when do we think about incorporating rest and balance into that? If you’ve read my blog post about #EmsChallenge (if not, read it!), you’ll know how much I believe in balance but also, the importance of wellbeing too. Let’s talk fitness!

Best Leeds Restaurants - Leeds Restaurant Week

issho leeds
I’ve spent the last few days in good old Leeds and wow, I feel revived. I feel like I live out of a suitcase, which may sound glamorous, but it isn’t so glamorous. It’s nice to actually have a few days back home, living between Leeds and London is pretty exhausting and if I’m totally honest, I prefer Leeds *oops, I said it*. I feel relaxed in Leeds and I can walk around it easily haha. My favourite thing? The city is so up and coming and every day it gets better and better, particularly the food choices, we really are up there with one of the best foodie cities. Leeds has always been known for having a great food scene but they’ve just stepped it up over the last year and it seems everyone wants to have a restaurant here (fine by me). If you’re in Leeds this week you’re in for a serious treat as it’s the first ever Leeds Restaurant Week! Get ready for some seriously good and delicious deals and I’ll give you the low down on some of my favourite places to eat in Leeds too this restaurant week.

With Summer still in full swing (okay, maybe not in the UK but elsewhere, hey England, a sunny day would be lovely please...) I thought it only made sense to talk about a few of my Summer must haves. It seems a lot of people go on holiday in August, September and actually, Summer isn't just June anymore, people are craving the sun all year round and hopping on planes everywhere. I love seasonal posts and if I'm honest, I love all seasons, be it Autumn, Winter, Summer. ROCCABOX REVIEW AUGUST BEAUTY SUBSCRIPTION BOX

roccabox

I’ve been keeping something under wraps for at least 6 months now and I’m so excited to finally share what I've been working on. Let's start with a little bit of background, I met with a wonderful lady a very long time ago. She was working really hard in her day job and I was doing my thing too. She had crazy potential to launch something big and our hour long meeting ended up lasting a lot longer, let's just say we've been friends ever since. I love meeting people with drive, ambition and dreams and Tia, the owner of Roccabox has all of that. I completely believe in supporting others, (let's be honest, many women don't support each other) and I feel so proud when I see people doing well. Wind forward a year and Tia went with her gut and launched her dream business. It was a total honour to be asked to curate my own special beauty edit with Roccabox for the month of August. This is a very special, limited edition, only available in August (or until it sells out) box, entirely curated by yours truly. Open up for more, hint, I worked tirelessly alongside Tia to ensure you guys get the best quality brands and my favourite products in here which is why I am so excited about this. IT'S MY BABY! P.S, whilst I've got you, click here and sign up to my new newsletter. It goes out every Friday morning full of random bits and bobs just for newsletter subscribers. I'd love to have you!!!

I'm A Workaholic, A Digital Detox & Seaham Hall Spa & Hotel, Durham

seaham hall durham

We live in a digital world and I'm totally okay with that, I'm the girl who photographs her food before eating it, has made a career (which I am so thankful for) in the digital sphere and sometimes sees things through a camera before her own eyes. I'm not going to slate the digital world, it's brought us good things and bad things (read my blog post: is social media dangerous?) I get it, some of you (particularly my grandparents!) think it's a little sad how much digital is taking over, 'young people glued to their phones' and often, I feel guilty when I'm sat on my phone whilst talking to my grandparents or my boyfriend. To them, it means I'm not paying attention, to me, I'm just running my life and, I can actually multi-task very well, but I'm with you and I sometimes agree. We can't be angry at people for wanting our company and attention. I certainly don't want to turn around in a few years time and wish I cherished the time with my loved ones more. I want you guys to read my blog, follow me on social and use the internet as much as I do, I too spend hours scrolling through peoples curated feeds and Twitter profiles. It relaxes me, I learn things, become inspired and motivated, I even get my news from the online world. It isn't necessarily a bad thing to be a little bit hooked to the digital world, who isn't? Recently though, I have been trying to 'live in the moment' a little bit more. Not that I don't live in the moment anyway, but I do find my phone in particular can be a little bit of an obsession, to the point where I'm so busy putting my dinner on every social media channel and I forget to actually talk to the people I'm sat having dinner with. That's why, I'm trying now to take my images and then enjoy the moment, then upload after I've caught up with those around me. Or, little things like putting my phone away an hour before bed so I can watch the telly and give my boyfriend my full attention. I want to work hard but more efficiently so I'm actually enjoying life. So much has happened in 2017 and it's made me realise that living in the moment and showing those around us what they truly mean to us is very important. I get myself incredibly stressed when actually, what really matters is health, happiness and wellbeing. We headed to Seaham Spa for Matt's birthday and whilst in a sauna, without my phone, I came up with the idea to write this blog post (see, my mind is always on!)

Refreshing My Body & Mind This August #EmsChallenge - Fitness & Health Challenge

Hello hello. So, a few days ago I decided I wanted to push myself this month, push myself to be stronger, healthier, fitter and generally just feel better about myself. I've realised that being fit and healthy is about way more than how our body looks, it's about how we feel. It's about our minds too. Nothing busts stress more than getting some fresh air, nothing beats the endorphins I get from exercising. We all get into those ruts, I'm definitely in one of those right now. I don't know what's got into me recently, I guess it all started last year when I was living in Matt's student house and we couldn't cook in his kitchen as it was so dirty so we had to eat out most nights. I've always been good at making conscious 'healthier' choices with my food but it's much harder when you're constantly on the go. Looking back at the last few months, I haven't had a solid base and really am constantly on the go which makes sticking to my gym routine and my healthy eating really tough. I live here, there and everywhere and usually out of a suitcase. I need a kick up the bum so I've decided to start #EmsChallenge. If August goes well, I'll do a few throughout the year. I didn't want to copy off Vegan January and I didn't want to just do a Vegetarian month because they're really personal things to each individual, instead, I'm gonna try my own challenge, I'm gonna talk through some things I'm gonna do this month and then you guys can tailor it to yourselves. The key is, write it down - for some reason, I feel like I have to do it then. I tweeted and lots of you said you were interested so here it is, an August challenge to refresh us all and motivate us. I think it'll keep me motivated, keep me on track and hopefully I'll see some results and mainly, feel confident in my body and mind. See this as your monthly refresh, a mind, body and soul challenge. P.S, whilst I've got you, click here and sign up to my new newsletter. It goes out every Friday morning full of random bits and bobs just for newsletter subscribers. I'd love to have you. Now, let's go.

The Best Summer Clothing In Italy, Amalfi Coast

Oh hello Amalfi coast, nice to meet you. I'm so excited to put my first Amalfi post up, I know I haven't got through any of my America posts yet, sorry I've been so slow on them (you can read my how to plan the best USA road trip post if you missed it), but here we are with some shots from this week in Italy to kick things off. It's August, it's still Summer holiday season and it's also festival season. I wanted to show you two key pieces from my current Summer wardrobe because I think you are gonna fall in love as much as I have. Perfect for day dates, dinner, the beach or even festivals. What a better place to show these dresses than on the Amalfi Coast? ASOS, you're winning with clothes at the moment, this was only my 10th order this month...

The Top Body Oils, After Suns And Sun Creams For Summer

Hello hello hello! Happy August, where did you come from? I thought I’d grab the products I’m currently loving for holidays and put them in one blog post. For me, I feel like I take better care of my skin when I’m on holiday, I nourish it with oils and lather on the SPF so I really wanted to show you what I’ve been using today. Here are my top holiday essentials when it comes to suncream, after suns and oils! I don't think I've ever talked about them in one big blog post before!

Body Confidence: How I Make Myself Feel More Confident

cactus bikini

Hello hello, so today I thought I’d write a post about how I make myself feel more confident. It’s one of those weeks where I feel a bit rubbish about my body and I’m totally to blame. Why? Well, a lack of exercise and a bad routine has made me feel this way. It's so unlike me, but whilst I was in America I was totally out of my routine and now I feel horrendous for it. If you read my recent blog post about house hunting in London, you'll know I'm living out of a suitcase so it's tough to know when I'm gonna have time to work out at the moment. It's so true when they say exercise is a natural endorphin, even after one work out I feel more body confident. My routine has been all over the place but that’s why I wanted to write this blog post all about body confidence in the hopes that it can help anyone else feeling a little rubbish about their bodies.

House Hunting In London & Reasons Why I Want To Move Into Saco Apartments Fitzrovia Penthouse

backless silk maxi dress
Dress online here / Similar here.

I'm living out of suitcases at the moment and it isn't very fun that's for sure. I love to travel, but I do prefer to stay places for at least a few nights other wise it can be quite stressful constantly packing and unpacking (a little bit like our epic USA California roadtrip). If you didn't already know, the house hunt is well and truly on (well, me refreshing RightMove) and I've definitely found my dream location (Saco Apartments, Fitzrovia if you're interested). The bar has been set incredibly high after a recent stay here and now I'm contemplating throwing the towel in and not making the big London move at all. Okay, slightly dramatic, I'm lying but in London, you get no space, no air and not much for your money so it seems. The house hunt is seriously disheartening, particularly because I could buy a castle in an epic area up North for the same price as a one bed in London (no seriously, I wish I was joking). I'm gonna delve into why we're moving etc a little more on this post. I've been pretty much living in hotels whilst house hunting and mainly because my job requires me to be in London most days anyway. Most of you will know by now that I stay in Saco Apartments a lot, I trust them and love them and their new Fitzrovia location is something else. Read my post about their incredible apart-hotel near Liverpool Street, Leman Locke. Saco Apartments are really special and actually, I wish I could call this place my home. See how I got on...

The Year I Realised What Truly Matters + An Evening At The Hyatt Churchill Bar And Terrace Review, London

chocolate fondueMy dress, similar here and here / Hair by Show Beauty

As a child, my Mum would make me read 'the want want want' story, a story about children who wanted everything, they'd stamp their feet if they didn't get it. My Mum would worry, worry that I always wanted to be buying things, my Grandma recalled the time I actually stomped on her feet because she wouldn't get me an ice cream. I'm not painting myself in a good light here am I? I'm not saying I was a bad kid (we're talking toddler here), I certainly wasn't, never had a detention, isolation or even negative comment at school. I had 100% attendance so clearly, the little 'want want want' brat within me was soon shaken out of me after my terrible toddler period. I guess what I'm getting at here is people change. I've changed so much over the last year and it's something I wanted to touch on today. We change every day, we are all at different places in life, with different life experiences and we've been through things that shape us, change us and make us who we are. I like to give people a chance, they're probably not bad people, they may have just been through a lot of rubbish in their life and it's made them have certain traits we don't agree with. A relevant example is Olivia from Love Island (yes I'm addicted), whilst her personality seems nasty towards Chris, actually, we can see she's clearly broken and insecure after a volatile relationship and that's where her personality stems from (not saying it's an excuse but I can understand). Unbeknown to me back then, I was going through an awful childhood (something I'll discuss one day but definitely something that affected me and still does). I'm glad that today, I'm no longer the selfish, terrible two year old (talk about blowing my own trumpet) and I genuinely get satisfaction out of caring for others and giving them exciting opportunities. I've managed to turn horrible experiences and horrible things into my fight, my fight for life and my fight to ensure those around me are happy, healthy and supported. This week I treated my loved ones to a tour of my favourite places in London, ending with The Hyatt Churchill so I guess I wanted to talk about that today.

Zoella Beauty New Jelly And Gelato Range Review!!!

Zoella Beauty New Jelly And Gelato Range Review flatlay

It’s not often that a beauty range makes me jump for joy and squeal a little inside when I see it, but Zoella’s new Jelly And Gelato range certainly does that. I opened it and felt so happy, seriously. What a beautiful range, I don't even have the words. Jelly And Gelato (aka the best theme for a beauty range ever) oozes happiness, Summer and brings back such fond childhood memories (mainly where I’d be the kid in the corner eating all the jelly and gelato, except this range is way more Instagrammable than my childhood parties, feel free to follow me on Instagram @emshelx). I love nothing more than seeing people do well, supporting people and I gain so much life motivation from women like Zoe Sugg. Zoe is an ultimate girl boss and deserves every success. She inspires the masses and is relatable to so many. For me, the main thing about this range is that it appeals to all ages, Zoe has made Gelato and Jelly cool and seriously, you need this range in your life simply because it just makes me happy every time I see it. Gelato and Jelly picnic party anyone? Let’s talk about the products in the Jelly and Gelato Zoella Beauty range. Warning: you're gonna fall in love. I feel like we all need a glass of Pimms whilst sat reading this, it would be very appropriate.

Kiehl's Butterstick Lip Treatment Lip Balm Review

Kiehls butterstick lip treatmentI squealed a little when the postman dropped the new Kiehl's Butterstick lip treatments at my door. I know I say it often, but as much as I love writing about fitness, travel and personal topics, I also love beauty. I hate to be that cringe person, but beauty really is 'bae'. It really is. My Mum is gonna have no idea what this means if she's reading (sorry Mum). But seriously, I feel like I'm one of those people who is so passionate about so many things, be it beauty brands, keeping fit, keeping my skin glowing or just spreading some positivity and that's the great thing about blogging, we can talk about what we want, when we want and if I want to talk about fitness one day and beauty the next, that's totally okay (I hope it is with you guys anyway haha). Today I wanted to share the new Kiehl's Butterstick lip treatments in a review post. I wanted to do this for a few reasons, No.1 - I haven't actually done a singular product review for quite some time and I love losing myself in a new product. No.2 - they were too pretty not to photograph, I love grabbing my camera and shooting away and No.3 - I need to go to Kiehl's rehab. You've never come across someone so in love with a brand before. So here we go, let's look at Kiehl's Butterstick Lip Treatments.

Friend Heartbreak, How To Deal With Losing A Friend

Hello hello, so apologies if this post is a little bit rambly, it’s 8pm on a Sunday evening and this post has been brewing since December actually. I didn't know whether it was appropriate to put live, is it a bit too personal? Yeh, probably so I've toned it down a bit as no-one wants dirty laundry aired (or, maybe you do). I'm writing it firstly to get a few things off my chest but mainly, to help you guys. I've done a lot of tweeting recently (emshelx - come say hey) about friendships and I know a lot of you feel the same so I'm hoping it helps you too. I know this topic is something so many people go through, it's a life long thing, from childhood right up until adulthood and that's why I think it might resonate with a lot of you. I don’t really know if ‘grieving’ is the right term, but I guess that’s how it feels when you lose a friend (or friends). Of course, no-one has actually died (thank the lord) but I guess not having them in your life anymore often means you feel as if you are grieving the loss of a friendship. Another way I wanted to describe it was a friend-break, rather than a heart break, or, friend heartbreak. Losing a friend can be heart breaking, but a different kind of heart break to losing a boyfriend/girlfriend. Anyway, I’m a paragraph in and the rambling has already begun, I guess this blog post is going to be a mishmash of my feelings over the last year, how I feel about losing friends, how to deal with it and why actually, looking forward is key.

pink asos swimsuit

Hello hello, sorry for being a little MIA for the last few days, I've been feeling a little unwell and haven't really slept enough so I'm trying to catch up on myself. I recently posted a video with a look at a new workout and I’ve since had a few messages about my diet. Today, continuing the discussion of my favourite topic, balance, I thought I’d write a post giving a little insight into fuelling your exercise routine in a balanced way and basically giving you a little updated look at what I eat. Let’s talk!

Top Tips For Planning The Best USA Westcoast Road Trip. How To Plan an American road trip in California

As I sit on the flight back from a month road trip in America, I thought I’d put together a blog post on how to plan the best, dreamiest West Coast USA road trip. I wanted to do this because if I’m honest, I found planning the month long USA dream Westcoast road trip way more stressful than any trip I’ve ever planned. This comes from someone who loves making lists, plans, spreadsheets and moved her life to Canada for a year. For some reason, the logistics of this trip stressed me out so much so I’m hoping this blog post will help you out if you’re wanting to visit the USA for a road trip. Let’s do this. I wanted to put together my whole itinerary for my USA road trip and my tips for planning in a quick and easy to read blog post so you guys can screenshot or save it. Individual location posts will follow, I had no idea how long they would take which is why I'm giving you this huge how to plan the ultimate American road trip guide first and foremost!

A Beach Day In Margate & The Best Summer Playsuit

margate beach
Do you want to go to the seaside? One of my favourite phrases as a child and actually, as I've got older, I still constantly want to go to the seaside. Nothing beats the fresh sea air, the ocean breeze and the sand between your toes. I really appreciate the seaside. Today, a fashion post featuring a beautiful British seaside.

How to get the most out of your time at University

Hello hello! It’s crazy to think that this time last year I graduated. I really struggled with even the thought of graduating as I just didn’t think it would ever happen. I had a love hate relationship with uni and went through days where I was convinced I’d get a first, then got knocked back down again and was convinced I’d failed. I juggled running two businesses, family issues and everything else you can imagine with my final year and ran myself into the ground. After all of this, it feels so long ago even though it was only this time last year. Today I wanted to talk to you about how to get the most out your time at university and I hope it helps you!

The Best Ways To Work Out Outside

Hello hello, a fitness post from me today, hooray! I feel like I’ve done a lot of videos and blog posts now showing what I do in the gym or talking about my favourite gym routines (more updated ones coming your way soon but head to my fitness section for these). Sometimes, there isn’t a gym available and I know quite a lot of people don’t like the gym. As most of you know by now, I go to David Lloyd gym and absolutely love it, mainly because there really is something for everyone there, from swimming to dancing to HIIT sessions or just good old spin, even my Mum adores it (pilates and zumba are her favourites). Sometimes though, you can’t beat the fresh air and recently, I stayed at a hotel with no gym and it got me thinking about filming a running video so here we are today. Today I’m going to talk to you about how I like to work out outside and then show you my outdoor workouts in a video!

A Personal Note. Supporting and Competing. Be Kinder.

Hello hello, firstly, thank you so much if you read my 'is social media dangerous blog post' I love writing personal posts from the heart and today I wanted to write more of a personal/lifestyle post as I feel like I haven’t written one in quite some time. I was having a pretty rubbish day the other day and rather than making myself feel worse, I decided to share a thread of all the people I love and why I'm proud of them or inspired by them. You know what? It made me feel a million times better and has inspired todays post. I wanted to write about the importance of supporting each other rather than competing and talk about how important it is to just be nice. Let’s get straight into it.
