Personal Shopping At Selfridges, Designer Try On Haul & A Day In Manchester

self portrait white lace dress
It's not every day you get to enjoy Selfridges all to yourself, okay, almost all to myself. I spend the majority of my time in London, closely followed by Leeds and actually, rarely Manchester anymore so it was great to head back to Manchester last week. My excuse for going to Manchester is usually to see Lee, my hairdresser at Sassoon. I do really like Manchester, the restaurant scene is epic and, it's home to my favourite hotel too. Come personal shopping with me in Selfridges and see what I got to try on: spoiler, I'm in love... P.S, whilst I've got you, click here and sign up to my new newsletter. It goes out every Friday morning full of random bits and bobs just for newsletter subscribers. I'd love to have you!!!

My Exercise Routine

Hello hello! So today I wanted to talk about my updated exercise routine but also, talk about the importance of balance within an exercise routine. So many people push the idea of doing constant HIIT and working out, but when do we think about incorporating rest and balance into that? If you’ve read my blog post about #EmsChallenge (if not, read it!), you’ll know how much I believe in balance but also, the importance of wellbeing too. Let’s talk fitness!

Best Leeds Restaurants - Leeds Restaurant Week

issho leeds
I’ve spent the last few days in good old Leeds and wow, I feel revived. I feel like I live out of a suitcase, which may sound glamorous, but it isn’t so glamorous. It’s nice to actually have a few days back home, living between Leeds and London is pretty exhausting and if I’m totally honest, I prefer Leeds *oops, I said it*. I feel relaxed in Leeds and I can walk around it easily haha. My favourite thing? The city is so up and coming and every day it gets better and better, particularly the food choices, we really are up there with one of the best foodie cities. Leeds has always been known for having a great food scene but they’ve just stepped it up over the last year and it seems everyone wants to have a restaurant here (fine by me). If you’re in Leeds this week you’re in for a serious treat as it’s the first ever Leeds Restaurant Week! Get ready for some seriously good and delicious deals and I’ll give you the low down on some of my favourite places to eat in Leeds too this restaurant week.

Palm Springs windfarm

Dress online here /

Hello hello! I thought it was about time I started putting some America posts together from my dream California road trip. Now, please excuse me because I’m doing this a little back to front. I wanted to start with San Fran and work down the coast and blog about them all in the exact order I did them, but for various reasons, I’m starting with Palm Springs. You can read my full guide to a West Coast California road trip if you haven’t already. So, let’s talk about Palm Springs, what to do in Palm Springs and also, where to eat in Palm Springs!

Top 5 Summer Must Haves

beach kaftan
Kaftan online here / shot at Grand Hotel Coccumella

With Summer still in full swing (okay, maybe not in the UK but elsewhere, hey England, a sunny day would be lovely please...) I thought it only made sense to talk about a few of my Summer must haves. It seems a lot of people go on holiday in August, September and actually, Summer isn't just June anymore, people are craving the sun all year round and hopping on planes everywhere. I love seasonal posts and if I'm honest, I love all seasons, be it Autumn, Winter, Summer. I get fully engrossed in all seasons but today, let's talk about top Summer must haves as I'm not ready for Summer to end just yet... P.S, whilst I've got you, click here and sign up to my new newsletter. It goes out every Friday morning full of random bits and bobs just for newsletter subscribers. I'd love to have you!!!

I’ve been keeping something under wraps for at least 6 months now and I’m so excited to finally share what I've been working on. Let's start with a little bit of background, I met with a wonderful lady a very long time ago. She was working really hard in her day job and I was doing my thing too. She had crazy potential to launch something big and our hour long meeting ended up lasting a lot longer, let's just say we've been friends ever since. I love meeting people with drive, ambition and dreams and Tia, the owner of Roccabox has all of that. I completely believe in supporting others, (let's be honest, many women don't support each other) and I feel so proud when I see people doing well. Wind forward a year and Tia went with her gut and launched her dream business. It was a total honour to be asked to curate my own special beauty edit with Roccabox for the month of August. This is a very special, limited edition, only available in August (or until it sells out) box, entirely curated by yours truly. Open up for more, hint, I worked tirelessly alongside Tia to ensure you guys get the best quality brands and my favourite products in here which is why I am so excited about this. IT'S MY BABY! P.S, whilst I've got you, click here and sign up to my new newsletter. It goes out every Friday morning full of random bits and bobs just for newsletter subscribers. I'd love to have you!!!

I'm A Workaholic, A Digital Detox & Seaham Hall Spa & Hotel, Durham

seaham hall durham

We live in a digital world and I'm totally okay with that, I'm the girl who photographs her food before eating it, has made a career (which I am so thankful for) in the digital sphere and sometimes sees things through a camera before her own eyes. I'm not going to slate the digital world, it's brought us good things and bad things (read my blog post: is social media dangerous?) I get it, some of you (particularly my grandparents!) think it's a little sad how much digital is taking over, 'young people glued to their phones' and often, I feel guilty when I'm sat on my phone whilst talking to my grandparents or my boyfriend. To them, it means I'm not paying attention, to me, I'm just running my life and, I can actually multi-task very well, but I'm with you and I sometimes agree. We can't be angry at people for wanting our company and attention. I certainly don't want to turn around in a few years time and wish I cherished the time with my loved ones more. I want you guys to read my blog, follow me on social and use the internet as much as I do, I too spend hours scrolling through peoples curated feeds and Twitter profiles. It relaxes me, I learn things, become inspired and motivated, I even get my news from the online world. It isn't necessarily a bad thing to be a little bit hooked to the digital world, who isn't? Recently though, I have been trying to 'live in the moment' a little bit more. Not that I don't live in the moment anyway, but I do find my phone in particular can be a little bit of an obsession, to the point where I'm so busy putting my dinner on every social media channel and I forget to actually talk to the people I'm sat having dinner with. That's why, I'm trying now to take my images and then enjoy the moment, then upload after I've caught up with those around me. Or, little things like putting my phone away an hour before bed so I can watch the telly and give my boyfriend my full attention. I want to work hard but more efficiently so I'm actually enjoying life. So much has happened in 2017 and it's made me realise that living in the moment and showing those around us what they truly mean to us is very important. I get myself incredibly stressed when actually, what really matters is health, happiness and wellbeing. We headed to Seaham Spa for Matt's birthday and whilst in a sauna, without my phone, I came up with the idea to write this blog post (see, my mind is always on!)

Refreshing My Body & Mind This August #EmsChallenge - Fitness & Health Challenge

Hello hello. So, a few days ago I decided I wanted to push myself this month, push myself to be stronger, healthier, fitter and generally just feel better about myself. I've realised that being fit and healthy is about way more than how our body looks, it's about how we feel. It's about our minds too. Nothing busts stress more than getting some fresh air, nothing beats the endorphins I get from exercising. We all get into those ruts, I'm definitely in one of those right now. I don't know what's got into me recently, I guess it all started last year when I was living in Matt's student house and we couldn't cook in his kitchen as it was so dirty so we had to eat out most nights. I've always been good at making conscious 'healthier' choices with my food but it's much harder when you're constantly on the go. Looking back at the last few months, I haven't had a solid base and really am constantly on the go which makes sticking to my gym routine and my healthy eating really tough. I live here, there and everywhere and usually out of a suitcase. I need a kick up the bum so I've decided to start #EmsChallenge. If August goes well, I'll do a few throughout the year. I didn't want to copy off Vegan January and I didn't want to just do a Vegetarian month because they're really personal things to each individual, instead, I'm gonna try my own challenge, I'm gonna talk through some things I'm gonna do this month and then you guys can tailor it to yourselves. The key is, write it down - for some reason, I feel like I have to do it then. I tweeted and lots of you said you were interested so here it is, an August challenge to refresh us all and motivate us. I think it'll keep me motivated, keep me on track and hopefully I'll see some results and mainly, feel confident in my body and mind. See this as your monthly refresh, a mind, body and soul challenge. P.S, whilst I've got you, click here and sign up to my new newsletter. It goes out every Friday morning full of random bits and bobs just for newsletter subscribers. I'd love to have you. Now, let's go.

The Best Summer Clothing In Italy, Amalfi Coast

Oh hello Amalfi coast, nice to meet you. I'm so excited to put my first Amalfi post up, I know I haven't got through any of my America posts yet, sorry I've been so slow on them (you can read my how to plan the best USA road trip post if you missed it), but here we are with some shots from this week in Italy to kick things off. It's August, it's still Summer holiday season and it's also festival season. I wanted to show you two key pieces from my current Summer wardrobe because I think you are gonna fall in love as much as I have. Perfect for day dates, dinner, the beach or even festivals. What a better place to show these dresses than on the Amalfi Coast? ASOS, you're winning with clothes at the moment, this was only my 10th order this month...

The Top Body Oils, After Suns And Sun Creams For Summer

Hello hello hello! Happy August, where did you come from? I thought I’d grab the products I’m currently loving for holidays and put them in one blog post. For me, I feel like I take better care of my skin when I’m on holiday, I nourish it with oils and lather on the SPF so I really wanted to show you what I’ve been using today. Here are my top holiday essentials when it comes to suncream, after suns and oils! I don't think I've ever talked about them in one big blog post before!

Body Confidence: How I Make Myself Feel More Confident

cactus bikini

Hello hello, so today I thought I’d write a post about how I make myself feel more confident. It’s one of those weeks where I feel a bit rubbish about my body and I’m totally to blame. Why? Well, a lack of exercise and a bad routine has made me feel this way. It's so unlike me, but whilst I was in America I was totally out of my routine and now I feel horrendous for it. If you read my recent blog post about house hunting in London, you'll know I'm living out of a suitcase so it's tough to know when I'm gonna have time to work out at the moment. It's so true when they say exercise is a natural endorphin, even after one work out I feel more body confident. My routine has been all over the place but that’s why I wanted to write this blog post all about body confidence in the hopes that it can help anyone else feeling a little rubbish about their bodies.

House Hunting In London & Reasons Why I Want To Move Into Saco Apartments Fitzrovia Penthouse

backless silk maxi dress
Dress online here / Similar here.

I'm living out of suitcases at the moment and it isn't very fun that's for sure. I love to travel, but I do prefer to stay places for at least a few nights other wise it can be quite stressful constantly packing and unpacking (a little bit like our epic USA California roadtrip). If you didn't already know, the house hunt is well and truly on (well, me refreshing RightMove) and I've definitely found my dream location (Saco Apartments, Fitzrovia if you're interested). The bar has been set incredibly high after a recent stay here and now I'm contemplating throwing the towel in and not making the big London move at all. Okay, slightly dramatic, I'm lying but in London, you get no space, no air and not much for your money so it seems. The house hunt is seriously disheartening, particularly because I could buy a castle in an epic area up North for the same price as a one bed in London (no seriously, I wish I was joking). I'm gonna delve into why we're moving etc a little more on this post. I've been pretty much living in hotels whilst house hunting and mainly because my job requires me to be in London most days anyway. Most of you will know by now that I stay in Saco Apartments a lot, I trust them and love them and their new Fitzrovia location is something else. Read my post about their incredible apart-hotel near Liverpool Street, Leman Locke. Saco Apartments are really special and actually, I wish I could call this place my home. See how I got on...

The Year I Realised What Truly Matters + An Evening At The Hyatt Churchill Bar And Terrace, London

chocolate fondueMy dress, similar here and here / Hair by Show Beauty

As a child, my Mum would make me read 'the want want want' story, a story about children who wanted everything, they'd stamp their feet if they didn't get it. My Mum would worry, worry that I always wanted to be buying things, my Grandma recalled the time I actually stomped on her feet because she wouldn't get me an ice cream. I'm not painting myself in a good light here am I? I'm not saying I was a bad kid (we're talking toddler here), I certainly wasn't, never had a detention, isolation or even negative comment at school. I had 100% attendance so clearly, the little 'want want want' brat within me was soon shaken out of me after my terrible toddler period. I guess what I'm getting at here is people change. I've changed so much over the last year and it's something I wanted to touch on today. We change every day, we are all at different places in life, with different life experiences and we've been through things that shape us, change us and make us who we are. I like to give people a chance, they're probably not bad people, they may have just been through a lot of rubbish in their life and it's made them have certain traits we don't agree with. A relevant example is Olivia from Love Island (yes I'm addicted), whilst her personality seems nasty towards Chris, actually, we can see she's clearly broken and insecure after a volatile relationship and that's where her personality stems from (not saying it's an excuse but I can understand). Unbeknown to me back then, I was going through an awful childhood (something I'll discuss one day but definitely something that affected me and still does). I'm glad that today, I'm no longer the selfish, terrible two year old (talk about blowing my own trumpet) and I genuinely get satisfaction out of caring for others and giving them exciting opportunities. I've managed to turn horrible experiences and horrible things into my fight, my fight for life and my fight to ensure those around me are happy, healthy and supported. This week I treated my loved ones to a tour of my favourite places in London, ending with The Hyatt Churchill so I guess I wanted to talk about that today.

Zoella Beauty New Jelly And Gelato Range Review!!!

Zoella Beauty New Jelly And Gelato Range Review flatlay

It’s not often that a beauty range makes me jump for joy and squeal a little inside when I see it, but Zoella’s new Jelly And Gelato range certainly does that. I opened it and felt so happy, seriously. What a beautiful range, I don't even have the words. Jelly And Gelato (aka the best theme for a beauty range ever) oozes happiness, Summer and brings back such fond childhood memories (mainly where I’d be the kid in the corner eating all the jelly and gelato, except this range is way more Instagrammable than my childhood parties, feel free to follow me on Instagram @emshelx). I love nothing more than seeing people do well, supporting people and I gain so much life motivation from women like Zoe Sugg. Zoe is an ultimate girl boss and deserves every success. She inspires the masses and is relatable to so many. For me, the main thing about this range is that it appeals to all ages, Zoe has made Gelato and Jelly cool and seriously, you need this range in your life simply because it just makes me happy every time I see it. Gelato and Jelly picnic party anyone? Let’s talk about the products in the Jelly and Gelato Zoella Beauty range. Warning: you're gonna fall in love. I feel like we all need a glass of Pimms whilst sat reading this, it would be very appropriate.

Kiehl's Butterstick Lip Treatment Lip Balm Review

Kiehls butterstick lip treatmentI squealed a little when the postman dropped the new Kiehl's Butterstick lip treatments at my door. I know I say it often, but as much as I love writing about fitness, travel and personal topics, I also love beauty. I hate to be that cringe person, but beauty really is 'bae'. It really is. My Mum is gonna have no idea what this means if she's reading (sorry Mum). But seriously, I feel like I'm one of those people who is so passionate about so many things, be it beauty brands, keeping fit, keeping my skin glowing or just spreading some positivity and that's the great thing about blogging, we can talk about what we want, when we want and if I want to talk about fitness one day and beauty the next, that's totally okay (I hope it is with you guys anyway haha). Today I wanted to share the new Kiehl's Butterstick lip treatments in a review post. I wanted to do this for a few reasons, No.1 - I haven't actually done a singular product review for quite some time and I love losing myself in a new product. No.2 - they were too pretty not to photograph, I love grabbing my camera and shooting away and No.3 - I need to go to Kiehl's rehab. You've never come across someone so in love with a brand before. So here we go, let's look at Kiehl's Butterstick Lip Treatments.

Friend Heartbreak, How To Deal With Losing A Friend

Hello hello, so apologies if this post is a little bit rambly, it’s 8pm on a Sunday evening and this post has been brewing since December actually. I didn't know whether it was appropriate to put live, is it a bit too personal? Yeh, probably so I've toned it down a bit as no-one wants dirty laundry aired (or, maybe you do). I'm writing it firstly to get a few things off my chest but mainly, to help you guys. I've done a lot of tweeting recently (emshelx - come say hey) about friendships and I know a lot of you feel the same so I'm hoping it helps you too. I know this topic is something so many people go through, it's a life long thing, from childhood right up until adulthood and that's why I think it might resonate with a lot of you. I don’t really know if ‘grieving’ is the right term, but I guess that’s how it feels when you lose a friend (or friends). Of course, no-one has actually died (thank the lord) but I guess not having them in your life anymore often means you feel as if you are grieving the loss of a friendship. Another way I wanted to describe it was a friend-break, rather than a heart break, or, friend heartbreak. Losing a friend can be heart breaking, but a different kind of heart break to losing a boyfriend/girlfriend. Anyway, I’m a paragraph in and the rambling has already begun, I guess this blog post is going to be a mishmash of my feelings over the last year, how I feel about losing friends, how to deal with it and why actually, looking forward is key.

I’m sure most of you know that skincare is one of my favourite things and when I see new skincare, I get incredibly excited. This isn’t just a normal skincare brand, it’s totally customisable and it’s pretty epic so today, in the brand spotlight, Bio-Extracts…

What To Eat Pre & Post Workout - A Look At My Diet

pink asos swimsuit

Hello hello, sorry for being a little MIA for the last few days, I've been feeling a little unwell and haven't really slept enough so I'm trying to catch up on myself. I recently posted a video with a look at a new workout and I’ve since had a few messages about my diet. Today, continuing the discussion of my favourite topic, balance, I thought I’d write a post giving a little insight into fuelling your exercise routine in a balanced way and basically giving you a little updated look at what I eat. Let’s talk!

Top Tips For Planning The Best USA Westcoast Road Trip. How To Plan an American road trip in California

As I sit on the flight back from a month road trip in America, I thought I’d put together a blog post on how to plan the best, dreamiest West Coast USA road trip. I wanted to do this because if I’m honest, I found planning the month long USA dream Westcoast road trip way more stressful than any trip I’ve ever planned. This comes from someone who loves making lists, plans, spreadsheets and moved her life to Canada for a year. For some reason, the logistics of this trip stressed me out so much so I’m hoping this blog post will help you out if you’re wanting to visit the USA for a road trip. Let’s do this. I wanted to put together my whole itinerary for my USA road trip and my tips for planning in a quick and easy to read blog post so you guys can screenshot or save it. Individual location posts will follow, I had no idea how long they would take which is why I'm giving you this huge how to plan the ultimate American road trip guide first and foremost!

A Beach Day In Margate & The Best Summer Playsuit

margate beach
Do you want to go to the seaside? One of my favourite phrases as a child and actually, as I've got older, I still constantly want to go to the seaside. Nothing beats the fresh sea air, the ocean breeze and the sand between your toes. I really appreciate the seaside. Today, a fashion post featuring a beautiful British seaside.

How to get the most out of your time at University

Hello hello! It’s crazy to think that this time last year I graduated. I really struggled with even the thought of graduating as I just didn’t think it would ever happen. I had a love hate relationship with uni and went through days where I was convinced I’d get a first, then got knocked back down again and was convinced I’d failed. I juggled running two businesses, family issues and everything else you can imagine with my final year and ran myself into the ground. After all of this, it feels so long ago even though it was only this time last year. Today I wanted to talk to you about how to get the most out your time at university and I hope it helps you!

The Best Ways To Work Out Outside

Hello hello, a fitness post from me today, hooray! I feel like I’ve done a lot of videos and blog posts now showing what I do in the gym or talking about my favourite gym routines (more updated ones coming your way soon but head to my fitness section for these). Sometimes, there isn’t a gym available and I know quite a lot of people don’t like the gym. As most of you know by now, I go to David Lloyd gym and absolutely love it, mainly because there really is something for everyone there, from swimming to dancing to HIIT sessions or just good old spin, even my Mum adores it (pilates and zumba are her favourites). Sometimes though, you can’t beat the fresh air and recently, I stayed at a hotel with no gym and it got me thinking about filming a running video so here we are today. Today I’m going to talk to you about how I like to work out outside and then show you my outdoor workouts in a video!

A Personal Note. Supporting and Competing. Be Kinder.

Hello hello, firstly, thank you so much if you read my 'is social media dangerous blog post' I love writing personal posts from the heart and today I wanted to write more of a personal/lifestyle post as I feel like I haven’t written one in quite some time. I was having a pretty rubbish day the other day and rather than making myself feel worse, I decided to share a thread of all the people I love and why I'm proud of them or inspired by them. You know what? It made me feel a million times better and has inspired todays post. I wanted to write about the importance of supporting each other rather than competing and talk about how important it is to just be nice. Let’s get straight into it.

Simple Ways To Transform Your Bedroom

Today I wanted to write a blog post all about my favourite tips to transform your bedroom. I've been holding this blog post off for a while as they're not my favourite photos I've ever taken in all honesty. I keep putting quite a lot of pressure on myself at the moment to make sure I'm only posting content I absolutely love but then I thought about it and SO many people have asked about these prints, I've decided to just with it. I am so excited to show you these, I may not be in love with my photography here but I am in love with these prints! Again, I am really sorry this has taken me so long.

10 Ways To Hit Your Health & Fitness Goals

It’s that time of year again, the ‘get beach body ready’ sayings are everywhere and people are upping their gym games. As far as I’m concerned, it doesn’t matter what month it is, but anything that inspires you to move more and eat better (not less). Is great. If you’ve followed Emtalks for a while, you’ll know I do not believe in deprivation or dieting, I know that message may be getting boring (I talk about it all the time) but it’s true. Today I wanted to share a few ways I’m motivating myself to workout more this Summer and make changes to my body in the hopes that they inspire you.

Why I Love Running & Run With Me!

I’m sure you’re all aware by now of just how much I adore running, feeling energised andgoing on adventures. If you read last month’s blog post about the best uses for honey, you’ll know that I talked about my exciting partnership with yoomoo frozen yogurt this year (I may have eaten a tub of Honey n Granola right before I stepped on the plane). At the start of July I’m going to be taking part in my first ever Color Run as yoomoo have partnered with them, and I want to invite you to come along with me and talk about running too!

Is Social Media Dangerous?

Dress, online here / cheaper option online here.

This is a blog post idea I’ve been toying with for quite some time now. The topic ‘is social media dangerous/making people unwell’ hits us on a weekly basis, with social media platforms and bloggers regularly getting bashed or, sometimes just debated. I really wanted to put my thoughts together on this topic in the hope that it helps someone or, just welcomes a healthy debate. Let’s do this. Do you think social media is dangerous?

Three Essential Summer Holiday Wardrobe Staples

Buying summer clothes is one of my favourite hobbies. I'm a little obsessed with light-weight, easy to wear, day-to-night summer dresses. Let's be honest, I have an addiction to ASOS and add things to my basket on a weekly basis. I grabbed my suitcase, selected a few must-haves, super light-weight, easy to wear from breakfast until dinner pieces and I hope you're gonna love them as much as I do. I'm all about wardrobe staples in Summer, these are serious holiday staples.

How To Get The Perfect Summer Pedicure At Home

best products for perfect pedicureSummer is here in the UK (give or take) and one thing I’ve never actually spoken about on this blog, ever, is footcare. I don’t know why foot health and footcare is a taboo, our poor feet seem to get such a bad rep but I love nothing more than looking down at my feet with a pretty pedicure. Summer is the time where we want to get our feet out and wear sandals, peep-toes (I bought the most amazing Louboutins for my graduation), you name it so today I've pulled together my top tips for the best products to achieve the perfect pedi, as well as sneaking some in from top nail technician Marian Newman and Boots UK so you have the confidence to step out this Summer. My Gym Tips - What I Do At The Gym

Hello hello, so today, I thought I’d write up an updated what I do at the gym blog post, as well as embed some of my fitness videos so you guys can follow along with me either at the gym or at home. I think we all know by now just how much I adore working out and going to the gym. It’s one of those things that I’ve learnt to love, once you stop seeing exercise as a chore, and appreciate it as a way to nourish your body and make your body healthier and stronger, you’ll enjoy it a lot more, it’s all about mindset. So many people ‘hate the gym’ but I honestly think its because they haven’t found the right gym/workout/environment for them. Today I thought I’d give some workout tips, whether you’re a total beginner or a fitness fanatic. Get ready.

A Weekend Trip To Margate, Kent. Dreamland Margate, The Reading Rooms and More! What To Do In Margate.

dreamland margate
To celebrate Matt finally finishing his masters dissertation, I organised a very special little break for us. Typically, he hadn't actually finished by this point in the end, but, we still went and explored anyway. We hopped on a Southeastern train to head on an ultimate little escape to explore the South East. It's crazy that before last week, I hadn't ever visited the South East. I spend the majority of my time in London, Yorkshire and everywhere else in the world but the South East? Never. It really offers the loveliest little day trips or mini break adventures so I headed to go and discover some hidden gems in Kent. I'm so excited to share these images with you and this wonderful place.

Summer Beauty Essentials

beauty flat lay
I placed a pretty epic Summer boots order before heading to the USA for a Summer road trip and just had to share with you what I'd bought. Boots hauls are something we all still get *pretty* excited about, I mean, how couldn't we? I love nothing more than rushing into Boots with my little basket and coming out with so many new wonders. This time, I actually bought the stuff online, it was dangerous that's for sure. Within a day my products had arrived, I left this way too last minute but I'm so excited by these bits. I've decided to do this as a Boots haul/absolute Summer toad trip essentials post and hope you'll love it as much as I love these products. Let's just say, Boots holidays section has everything I needed.

The Best Skincare For Flights And Traveling

Hello hello hello! Get ready for quite a lot of travel content this month, it’s June which pretty much means Summer is here or, people are planning for their Summer holidays at least. I mean, in the UK as I write this, it's raining (far too much) so hopefully this will at least make you feel a little more like jumping on a plane to the sunshine. As you read this, I’m about to get on a flight to San Fransisco and I couldn’t resist writing a blog post with my travel tips and beauty products seen as I've spent the last week packing them all together. After the success of my long haul flight tips and top long haul travel beauty items blog post, I thought I’d do something similar but all about my in flight, travel beauty must haves and I've thrown a few flying tips in if you're a nervous flyer...

How To Get Balance In Day To Day Life - Why Balance Is SO Important

Dress /

Balance is a term thrown around a lot, particularly in the fitness and wellbeing industry. You either see people preaching entirely clean diets (dangerous, something I’ve touched on before and you can read my thoughts on clean eating) or, you see people preaching balance. I’m sure you all know by now that I live by the rule of balance. Not depriving yourself, enjoying life and being balanced in every aspect is key. I’m so excited to announce a partnership around balance with Yushoi, one of my absolute favourite guilt-free snacking brands to exist (if you follow me on Snapchat you’ll have probably seen me pick up some Yushoi every week) so expect lots more health related posts coming up. Today, I’m going to talk to you about how I try to be balanced in every aspect of my life.

Rest Is So Important. A Weekend Exploring Yorkshire With My Loved Ones, Ingrid Flute. North Yorkshire Moors.

Most of you will know by now that I love to travel and see the world, going abroad is incredible. Nothing beats new cultures, new adventures and new experiences and this year, I look forward to ticking more countries, cities and experiences off my list. However, so many people forget that we live in a wonderful place too, and actually, I'm yet to explore many places in the UK and Europe. It's funny really, I've visited the Maldives, I've explored Mexico but I'm yet to explore the UK. If you've been keeping up to date with my personal posts or watched any of my vlogs, you'll know that things have been pretty tough since November. Okay, who am I kidding, not pretty tough, incredibly tough and none of us (still) know what's around the corner. Strength and positivity are definitely important here, having those small victories for yourself and it's definitely put my life into perspective. Something, somewhere along the lines happened towards the end of last year, making someone I truly adore go from fit as a fiddle, whole life ahead of them, to incredibly ill and it changed all of our lives forever. I decided enough is enough and wanted to get out of the house (I'm really not over exaggerating when I say some of my family have been unable to leave a house properly for at least 6 months) and thought, if I can't send my family for some rest abroad, I may as well send them somewhere close by. Today I wanted to show you the most stunning property in Yorkshire. We left feeling as if a weight had been lifted and finally, for the first time in what seems like forever, I saw my whole family giggling away and not feeling so glum about the future. Positivity and love wins. Always.

A Delicious Brunch In London

I love nothing more than brunch and last week, a pretty delicious brunch took place. I spend my time between Leeds and London and have tried more brunches than anyone should have ever tried. It's safe to say, brunch is my favourite thing to eat. I was invited to a very special new brunch though to try a new menu and I had to let you guys in on the secret. Warning, do not read if you're hungry...

The Best Products For Strengthening Damaged Hair And Growing The Hair

If you've been following Emtalks for quite sometime, you'll know that hair and hair care is one of my biggest passions. Let's rewind right back to the start... I always longed for thick, long hair (the kinda hair you see daily on Instagram) so wore extensions for years when I was younger and bleached the life out of my hair. This resulted in the most damaged, unhappy, stressed hair. Let's just say, hair extensions and too much bleach ruined both my hair and my confidence. Read about how badly my hair was damaged here. Anyway, I'm so pleased to say, years on, my hair finally is getting to where I want it to be. It's full, it's bouncy and mainly, it's growing and it's healthy. I want to talk to you about some of my top products for hair growth and for hair strength today and give you an insight into how I got the confidence back with my hair. I did a little haul on HQhair (students, they're available on UNiDAYS, hello amazing discount) and re-purchased some of my favourite hair growth products. I'm also giving you the chance to win a £50 voucher to spend on hair goodies if you read this post too, you just have to make sure you sign up to UNiDAYS here to enter. Let's discuss.

A Huge Guide To Visiting Florida; What To Do In Florida, Kissimmee, St. Pete/Clearwater, Wisteria Lane

asos orange beach maxi dress

Hello hello hello! I hope you’re so well! It only feels like yesterday I was writing my Miami guide. After the success of my Barcelona travel guide, my New York travel guide and then, my Miami travel guide, I thought it was only right to write up something similar from my recent trip to Florida. I’ve always thought Florida was only about Disney and that’s why I’ve only ever flown into Miami and spent my time there.  If I’m honest, I had absolutely no idea Florida was home to such wonderful areas, the places I’m going to talk about today. I hopped on a plane with Norwegian air (easily one of the best airlines I’ve ever flown with, no, seriously, more on that in a second) and before I knew it, I had arrived in paradise. Let’s talk about the best things to do in Florida…

The Best Date Location: Angelica Bar & Restaurant Rooftop Leeds Review

topshop lace dress
Dress / Hair by Conor at Sassoon

Life is a bit confusing right now, I feel like a nomad. I constantly hop from place to place and pretty much live out of a suitcase. At the moment, my time is split between Leeds and London (I really don't know which one of them is home!) but as a graduate of the University of Leeds and, a Yorkshire girl born and bred (I hate that term but it's true, Yorkshire is in my blood), my heart always pangs for Yorkshire, there's no place like it. When I'm back in Leeds, there's one place I spend most of my time, that place? Angelica. It truly is my second home. If you follow me on Instagram or Snapchat (emshelx) you'll know this because I always post about it, it features on nearly every single weekly vlog I upload too, because I'm there at least once a week. It's safe to say, I adore this place. It feels wrong that Angelica doesn't yet have a full blown feature and review on my blog, I've mentioned it many times, such as in my post about the best places to eat and drink in Leeds, what to do in Trinity Leeds and, when I reviewed Angelica's luxury sister, Crafthouse Leeds. The only reason Angelica is yet to feature? I find myself always going on an evening with my camera and I wanted to show you it in the day time so you can understand why I love this place so much, whilst it's such a fun place on an evening and definitely the best fancy date night, it photographs much better in daylight! Not many places can do breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner but at Angelica, they really can. If you're from Leeds or coming to Leeds, make sure visiting Angelica is at the top of your to-do list. Let's just say, Leeds completely lacks Instagrammable venues but thankfully, Angelica came along and saved the day.

My Favourite Quick Lunchtime Workout, Workout You Can Do Anywhere

British fitness blogger
When the opportunity arose to host a workout for my followers, I was pretty excited, nervous, but excited. Anyone who knows me knows that working out is not only a part of my daily routine, but also, a part of me. Working out clears my mind, makes me feel de-stressed and is just one of my favourite hobbies. I no longer see exercise as a way to burn fat or lose weight, I see it as a mood booster, throwing all those endorphins my way. I also see it as a way to nourish and love my body. As I've grown older, I've really started to appreciate my body and what it does for me, so why wouldn't I show it some love back? Exercise is great, it keeps my heart, body and soul in check. You only get one body, so look after it! Sure is one of my favourite brands and has been for years now, so when the opportunity to collaborate with them on this work out came up, I jumped at the chance. I put my new gym kit on and ran to the local park eager to meet some of you for a lunchtime workout. I know you guys are based all over the world, so the best bit? I get to share the workout with you today for those who couldn't make it! Today I'm going to talk you through a really quick lunchtime HIIT which you can do anywhere. The best thing? It's effective but it uses an extended cool down to keep you calm! So let's do this and become lunchtime movers together!

The Best Summer Dresses & My Fashion Talk At Topshop

Dress / Hair by Conor at Sassoon

It's not every day you're invited to host a talk for your incredible followers at one of your favourite stores. In April, that happened and I was pretty excited. Well, a mixture of nerves, excitement and everything rolled into one. I headed into Topshop in Leeds more times than anyone should the week prior to my event, picking out my favourite dresses and accessories and prepping for the weekend. I invited my followers to come down, relax, chat with me about my favourite styles this season all whilst nibbling on some delicious brownies. I'm so excited to give you a little look at what went down on the day of my meet up and talk, but also, show you two of my favourite new dresses for Spring. I really am in love.

How To Use Honey In Your Beauty & Wellness Routine

Manuka doctor honey

Hello hello! So today I’m very excited to announce a partnership with yoomoo, a delicious frozen yogurt brand (they even do lollies too for Summer!!!) I wanted to get involved with them as this year yoomoo are launching a new campaign called ‘yootime’, encouraging women to be the best version of themselves or in their terms, ‘the best version of you’. If you’re a long time reader of Emtalks you’ll know I often talk about the importance of body confidence, loving yourself and ‘me time’. I recently wrote a post with my top ten tips to nourish and love your body and hopefully you've already read my honest post about body confidence. To celebrate the launch of the new Honey n Granola tub, I thought I’d write a blog post about how important honey can be for your beauty regime. I'm a sucker for beauty and if it's natural beauty, I'm even more of a sucker for it! Let’s talk about the best ways to use honey in your beauty prep and looks.

Top Products For At Home Pampering - How To Save Money And Time With At Home Beauty

Hey hey! Today I wanted to write a post about how to save money and time by pampering at home rather than going to the salon. For the first time in ages I've actually been at home with time to pamper. I tend to block out a few days a month to get all of my beauty treatments done in salons and it takes a little while plus it's costly. I'm an absolute salon addict, when it comes to nails you'll find me at my local Nails Inc every couple of weeks, blow dries - I pretty much spend my life at Sassoon and so on. For me, I love the salon experience but we don't always have the time which is why I'm always looking for beauty hacks and tricks. Today I want to show you how you can save time and money by having a pamper at home this Summer! This is really great for those busy ones amongst us! I love a blow dry more than the next person, but I read some research recently which says the average Brit spends £5,300 on salon hair removal alone in a lifetime, so I'm going to show you how to save money at home with this figure in my mind!

Huge Miami Travel Guide: What To Do In Miami, Where's Best To Eat & Stay In Miami!

Hello hello hello! Today I’m hitting you with a ridiculously late post, something I should have written a month ago but due to lots of technical issues (no thanks to Apple) it’s taken me this long to get round to it. I’ve visited Miami a few times now and each time have fallen more and more in love. I describe Miami as a really vibrant, fun, relaxed city and actually, somewhere I’d definitely think about moving to. After the success of my Barcelona travel guide and New York travel guide, it felt wrong not to do a guide to visiting Miami so let’s do this, here are all the hot spots in Miami, including lots of Instagrammable locations in Miami if that’s your thing and the best places to eat, drink and more in Miami!

The Top Suitcase Luggage Packing Tips For Holidays

Hello hello! Today I thought I'd write a blog post with my top packing tips and tricks. I wrote a post recently featuring my top long haul travel essentials and I thought this was a nice follow up, particularly with Summer coming up! Let's just say, I've been on hundreds of trips and some would say living out of a suitcase turns you into a little bit of a pro-packer. I had to pack my life into two suitcases when I moved to Canada too and managed it with only 20kg in each case. Anyone who knows just how much of a princess I am will know how difficult this was for me, It's time to share some of my top tips with you!
