Healthy Yoghurt, Oat, Honey & Apricot Cake Recipe - The Importance Of Oats In Skincare - Breakfast In Neals Yard With Aveeno

Neals Yard London
I'm not a lover of early starts, but when the days are brighter, warmer and there's lots going on, I much prefer them. I'd really love to be an early bird as I'm forever saying 'I wish there were more hours in the day' but for as long as I can remember, I've been a total night owl. This year, I'm trying to train my body to wake up earlier and seize the day. I feel way more productive when I've woken up early, nourished my body, worked out and socialised all before 9am. I just need to work on going to bed earlier and then I'll be a new woman. I'm not sure 4.30am starts are for me just yet, but this cake certainly made my long journey a lot better. I spend 4-5x a week in central London but on this day in particular, I had an event in Leeds the evening before meaning I had a very early start the following morning. Who can turn down skincare chats, giggles and cake in Neals Yard though, all before 9am? This has certainly inspired me to start my days earlier. Come join me as I discuss an awesome skincare range, the power of oats, not just in your diet, and, an incredible healthy cake recipe.

Instagram Fraud & A Perspective On Life

I wasn't going to write this blog post as quite frankly, I want to sit in a corner with my Easter eggs, but as I always say with blogging, sometimes these personal post ideas come to our mind and we've gotta tackle them. Over the last 24 hours, things have happened and these thing have made me want to speak out and talk about an issue. That's the joy of blogging isn't it? We are able to say what we think on our channels. I'm a big believer of supporting people, doing good and giving good back in return. If I'm honest though, the thing that bothers me most is what people say when people do speak up about issues in social media: 'you've got too much time on your hands' 'you're moaning' 'you're bitching' 'you need to put life into perspective'. I just want to start by saying, in November my life was put into perspective in a way I could never have imagined. As most of you will know by now if you follow me on Twitter or watch my weekly vlogs, in November my closest family member, and best friend, was knocked down with a disgusting, debilitating chronic illness. Not just one, but a few illnesses which will change his life forever (read more about this here). These are real issues that have changed all our lives forever and will continue to do so. On top of this, I have been the victim of domestic abuse throughout my whole life and witnessed things people never should have to witness. To judge someone via social media and say they need to use their energy on something else etc, is just not okay. This is why recently, I've been trying to use my voice to talk about genuine issues too, as well as wanderlust locations, pretty outfits and so on. But, remember, I know life is about way more than that. I have been using most of my energy raising money for my chronic illnesses recently so just had to get that in there. I'd trade every single thing I have to make my family okay. Anyway. Back onto the current issue, for a few weeks now, trouble has been 'brewing' in the blogosphere, I rarely get involved and rarely care, but when peoples honesty and integrity comes into play. It's something I had to discuss.

Crafthouse Afternoon Tea Review - Bottomless Afternoon Tea Crafthouse Leeds

TopJeans / Gucci Belt / Hair By Tatty at Sassoon

It's one of those days where I'm in the mood to champion Leeds. It's an incredible, vibrant city which gets better every month. It used to get a really bad rep, when I first started at the University of Leeds people really looked down on the city and I spent my whole time there telling people how great it is. I'm pleased to say, with it's recent developments, it's just getting even better every single day. The past week I took a week off rushing around London and enjoyed Leeds, it felt good to be back, properly. You may have read my top places to eat and drink in Leeds but today, I'm here with a new addition!

How To Start Your Day The Best Healthy Way - Healthy Morning Routine

blonde curls
One of the most important things my Mum has ever taught me health-wise is 'always make time for breakfast'. She's always pushed the idea of starting my day the right way and fuelling my body so it can work at it's very best throughout the day, it's something I talk about a lot. Today, I invite you to join me for a morning at home. I'm waking up early recently so that I have more time to have a proper breakfast and therefore, proper nourishment before my day head. Let's talk healthy breakfast starts, feeling for the day ahead and more. I'm also going to review my incredible new drinks machine on this too, I would call it a coffee machine but it's much more than just a standard coffee machine.

couples skincare
I'm sure you all know by now that beauty is one of my favourite things. So today I wanted to write a blog post featuring my lovely boyfriend, Matt and talk about our his and her skincare collections. If I wrote a blog post featuring every single one of my favourite skincare products and brands, we'd be here for the next ten years, so I tried my hardest to only feature a few things, okay, a lot of my favourite skincare and his too but we did manage to cut it down, a little. I promise, more skincare posts will be coming if you're looking for them! I'm so happy with my skin at the moment, it's taken a long time to get me to where I am skin-wise, I feel so confident make-up less and I really owe it to these amazing products. W Hotel, Barcelona Review - The Best Hotel In Barcelona

AMALFI MAXI DRESS Pampelone Clothing
If you've read my ultimate guide to Barcelona you'll know just how much I adore the place. Barcelona is somewhere I'd happily move to, it's my favourite European city (so far). It's vibrant, relaxed but has beach and city all rolled into one, if you want to sit and eat tapas for a weekend, you can, if you want to use Barcelona as an excuse for a beach break, you can but equally, you can shop and you can explore too. Barcelona has something for everyone. For as long as I can remember I've wanted to stay at the W Barcelona, as you all know, I have stayed at W Hotels around the world, including W Hotel China and W Hotel London so it only seemed right I finally got myself to the W Barcelona. I wanted to treat Matt to a lovely weekend in my favourite city and there was no better hotel to do it at. 12 Simple Health & Fitness Tips & Tricks: Fitness Hacks

fitness blog
I wanted to do an updated blog post featuring all my top health and fitness tips, I thought it would be nice to do it in the run up to Summer as Summer is something that just personally motivates me to take more care of my body. Please don’t think Summer means you have to lose weight, it doesn’t. For me, it just motivates me to nourish my body more and work out. Any excuse. Everyone has different body ideals and my body ideal may be totally different to yours, that’s okay, what I care about is taking care of our bodies, no matter what your end goal is, what season it is, or, if like me, you just keep fit and healthy as a way to maintain. As you all know, weight/body shape don’t matter to me (I could not possibly tell you how much I weigh, I have no idea, weight is not a reflection of health) and it’s all about how you feel. So today, I’m going to give you lots of tips and tricks to feel healthy, rejuvenated and fit this Summer. If Summer is an excuse to get us moving and eating better, then so be it. Let’s talk through some simple health and fitness tips....

Luxury Weekend In Manchester; Grand Pacific Manchester Review, Kingstreet Townhouse Hotel Manchester

Manchester is one of the places I don't visit enough, mainly I guess because it rains every single time I visit. Remember the hairdresser I told you about? 'The one', my favourite hair dresser as he's the one who took my hair from zero growth and maximum to damage to full head of hair and happily growing? Yep, Lee, my amazing hairdresser from Sassoon moved to the Manchester Sassoon salon meaning I'm going to be spending a lot more time in Manchester, purely for hair cuts alone. I guess I'm loyal to a good hairdresser so have been spending time between Leeds Sassoon, Manchester Sassoon and London Sassoon's too for my regular blow dries. They can't get rid of me. Last week I headed to Manchester for a romantic night with Matt, but first, obviously stopped via Sassoon for a fresh hair cut. Come enjoy a date weekend with us in Manchester and see what we got up to...oh and I also got to trial out one of the best hotel pools in the UK too!

Benefit GALifornia Coral Blusher Review

benefit galifornia coral blush
It’s not often I fall in love with something instantly but recently, I did. When this happens, I just have to write about it. I opened this parcel a few weeks ago and honestly, haven’t stopped using this product since the first application. I’m hoping the photos will do the talking on this blog post, but if you’re like me, and love a bronzed yet coral glow when it comes to your daily make up routine, you’re going to fall head over heels in love with Benefit’s Galifornia.

What To Do In Barcelona: Huge Barcelona Travel Guide; The Best Tapas In Barcelona

w hotel barcelona

Hello hello! After the success of my New York Travel Guide recently, I thought I’d do the same, but this time, for Barcelona. I’ve visited Barcelona a fair few times now and it almost feels like home. I started by reading this Barcelona guide and now, find myself always researching the best places in Barcelona so thought I'd write my own guide. I find myself wandering around the streets and remembering places, recognising the best routes to take and asking locals for the best food recommendations. Barcelona is somewhere I’d happily live. When I was at University, I wish I did my year abroad there but sadly the location wasn’t offered to my course. Barcelona is hands down one of my favourite places in the whole entire world, I’ve travelled far and wide and always come back to Barcelona. Let’s talk about where to eat in Barcelona, what to do in Barcelona and the best of Barcelona…

Spring Wardrobe Essentials - Spring Wardrobe Clearout - John Lewis, And/Or Collection

It's no secret that I'm a sucker for new clothes. My wardrobe room is brimming fill, so much so that I recently had a big Spring clear out and made way for lots of newness. It's difficult to let go of clothes,  they serve as memories and I am clearly a massive hoarder when it comes to them. Sometimes though, we out grow them and I guess, trends and our fashion sense changes. I feel like recently, my fashion sense has changed, I feel like I've grown up a little bit. When it comes to my fashion sense, I'm pretty simple with it, I love clean cut, easy to wear clothing but things that can be styled in numerous ways. I'm all about wardrobe staples and hero pieces. I've completely stripped my wardrobe back to basics as I try to adopt more of a 'clean' look in my life. My current theme is definitely minimalism. I think you're gonna love looking at my new Spring favourites from AND/OR at John Lewis ...

Mother's Day Gift Ideas

mothers day gift ideas
I absolutely love Mother’s Day, give me any excuse to spoil my Mum. I’m extremely lucky to have such a supportive Mum and I definitely believe that Mothers day is everyday. In our busy lives though, we often forget to stop and tell those close to us just how much we love them. Whether you look up to your Mum or someone else as a mother figure, I think it’s important to spend time and show that person how much they mean to you, as life really is too short. However, there’s no better way to spoil her that on Mothers day itself too. My Mum has always been someone who loves home-made and personalised gifts, so today I want to give you some lovely ideas for mothers day gifts and also, some different mother’s day ideas too.

The Best Of Leeds, Shopping In Trinity Leeds, Angelica Leeds, Cielo Blanco Leeds - Mothers Day In Leeds

I'm away so often and tend to forget how amazing it feels to be home. Whilst lots of places have started to feel like home over the last few years (forever falling in love on my travels), the place I call 'home home' is Yorkshire. Home is where the family are, that's how I see it anyway. Last week, I treated my Mum to an early Mothers day in Leeds. I wanted to take her to do all of my favourite things in a day and obviously take you guys along with me. I'm often asked to do more features about what's good to do in Leeds, so see this as my first one of 2017! Here's the perfect day out with your Mum this Mother's Day!

How To Beat Stress

Miami Beach fashion

Hello hello, so today I wanted to write a blog post all about my top ways to deal with and combat stress. I am a very stressy person and in 2017, I made a vow to start doing things a little differently in order to curb that stress and calm myself down. Stress can be really damaging for our minds and health and that’s why I made a decision to make sure I remove myself from stressful situations this year and really focus on my well-being. Let’s talk about some things I’ve been doing to de-stress.

How To Hydrate The Skin All Day - Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Range Review - Barcelona Special

clarins hydra-essentiel

It's not often we stop to think about the stress that day to day life puts on our skin. If you've been reading EmTalks for quite some time you'll know that skincare is one of my favourite things. I get abnormally excited about new skincare, I guess I just love having hydrated, glowing skin. When was the last time you thought about your skin and how day to day life and stresses affect it? I was recently educated on thermic shocks, something Mrs skin-buff over here hadn't heard of until a few weeks ago. Our skin experiences up to 17 thermic shocks a day – Thermic shocks are the changes in humidity and temperature that can stress our skin out, they happen through the day and the smallest things can make them occur. For example going from a warm house to outside into the cold or going from sunbathing into a cool pool. Thermic shocks reduce the skin’s ability to create hyaluronic acid which is responsible for keeping skin hydrated at all levels. Let's talk about skincare and Barcelona...

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil Review

kiehl's midnight recovery botanical cleansing oil

As most of you will know by now, I am a huge Kiehl’s fan. I’ve tried pretty much all their products and I’m pretty in love with 99% of things from Kiehl’s. I've turned my Mum, brother and boyfriend all into Kiehl's lovers too. We're a family of Kiehl's fans. I have been using their original Midnight Recovery Oil for years, it made my year then when I found out about their brand new product, launching this week in the UK, Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Botantical Cleansing Oil. I’ve been trialling this for quite some time so I’m here to give you a full review of the amazing addition to the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Oil family. There's nothing I love more than skincare so I just had to write this review up for you. Warning: this will make your glow and make your cleansing routine quick, easy and efficient with just one step.

Charlotte Tilbury Valentine And Pillowtalk Lipstick Review - The Best Nude Lipsticks

Charlotte tilbury pillowtalk
Charlotte Tilbury is one of the few brands who get it right, every time. I've been a fan of the brand for a long time, so it excites me to see all their new product launches and the hype surrounding the brand. This hype surrounding Charlotte is well deserved, the brand seriously is incredible in every way and I seem to fall head over heels for every product. Having personally met Charlotte, I can say, she is an incredible woman, and total girl boss, only making me fall in love with the brand even more. Today I wanted to review two absolutely stunning products, make up bag staples, every day essentials and two of my favourite things: Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Valentine and Pillowtalk, probably the most talked about lipsticks at the moment. It certainly doesn't look as if the nude trend is stopping anytime soon, so let me introduce you to your new favourite nudes...

On Trend Trainer Haul, New Spring Shoes

nude beige nike trainers

Today I thought I'd show you a little fashion haul, as inspired by fashion week. I've done a lot of shopping recently (you may realise if you read my New York city guide blog post) and something I never treat myself to, is shoes. I'm a lover of accessories, new handbags (Gucci is my current best friend) and coats but never shoes. I treated myself to a pair of Louboutins for my graduation day and apart from that, I rarely buy them. I'm currently going through a wardrobe overhaul, I do this every Spring, but I'm basically wanting to throw almost everything out, start fresh (I always give bags of stuff to charity) and just start with a fresh, clean wardrobe. The part of my wardrobe I neglect the most is shoes, so today, I decided to show you two staple pairs of shoes I've decided to buy. I'm very much a dressed up kinda girl, I love my heels and my heel boots, so today, I went for something different, trainers. Let's discuss...

Indoor Skiing Date on British Slopes! Plus Delicious Pancakes!

topshop ski kit
This is an advertisement in collaboration with Light* & Free

Oh hello February, I'm glad you're here! I feel like once Christmas is over, we eagerly await for Spring to come. We're currently in that lull point between Christmas and Spring and gosh even I, Mrs positive, was feeling a little down in January, waiting for adventure. I get really itchy feet if I don't get in the fresh air and explore (even if that just means walking around my hometown). Ever since I was born, I've loved going out, exploring, getting my hands dirty and just living life. Life is there for living and I'm a fan of being active and making my own adventures, it doesn't have to be sunny to do that. So yeah, January may have been a little dull, getting over a few too many mince pies and slowly pushing ourselves back into the working zone, but now February is here, I'm determined to explore, have fun and feel free. I want to do fun, different things this year. Nothing makes me happier than feeling a sense of adventure and that's exactly what I did this weekend. Matt and I had such an incredible time on our ski trip in December so we decided to bring the slopes closer to home and explore a local indoor slope.  A big thanks to Light* & Free for inspiring this experience. You could also win an absolutely amazing prize - more details at the end of this post and through the Light* & Free x Spotify Hub (trust me, it's good, music fans, you don't want to miss this!), so keep reading...

Get Instantly Glowing, Smooth, Skin. New Beauty Products - February

beauty flatlay haul
I love any excuse to go shopping and Boots hauls are my absolute favourites. Since I started blogging, I've done countless Boots hauls, just because, well, why not. Who doesn't love filling their basket with all the best new beauty buys? Todays theme is smooth and glowy. I'm totally in the mood to fake that Summer glow and pamper myself more than ever. I was challenged by Wilkinson Sword to do an all-black-Boots-haul to celebrate their gorgeous new packaging (more on that soon!) but I thought I'd do this with a twist, and grab some products to get me smooth and glowing for Summer. Let's discuss. PS. These are possibly my favourite picks yet.

London Fashion Week Refueling, Gigi Hadid x Tommy Hilfliger, W Hotel London Review

Toyota chr car
Fashion week is always manic, but enjoyable nonetheless. This year, I actually fell really ill on day one, meaning the lounge I was at all weekend came in handy, as was bed. It was a blessing in disguise that I had a lovely hotel room at the W London this year based right in the centre of all the action: Soho. The hotel came complete with an amazing complimentary refuel lounge to relax in, pamper in and refuel in between the manic-ness of the weekend too. I started the week in the North of England though, as we collected a car to drive down to fashion week with (you may remember this if you've seen my weekly vlog from last week). Let's talk about the make up, the lounges, the food and a few outfits from this weeks fashion week. Oh and a look into one of my favourite London hotels ever, the W Hotel, Leicester Square.

Easy, Healthy, 3 Ingredient Vegan Dairy Free Pancakes Recipe

easy healthy pancakes
Hello hello hello! If you didn't already know, I love making pancakes. I pretty much live on them. I personally don't think we need pancake day as an excuse to eat pancakes, but with it being so close, I thought I'd share my current favourite pancake recipe. These pancakes are vegan and dairy free too. I don't think pancakes are unhealthy, these ones certainly aren't anyway. Whether you're having them for breakfast, brunch or dessert, I hope you enjoy these as much as I do, these are so easy to make too, there's really no excuse plus, they're entirely guilt free!

An Honest Chat About Health, Fitness And How To Get Back On Track With Health & Fitness

We're not even half way though the year yet, but for some reason, I find, February to be quite a slump, fitness and health wise. As soon as Christmas is over, we're all keen to get on the health bandwagon, but I feel like as soon as February comes, we hit that slump again. For me, eating well and working out hasn't been as straight forward as it usually is. I pride myself on being Mrs motivated, getting up, shaking it all on that spin bike and keeping my food balance on point. My routine is what ensures I stick to my workouts but this year so far, my routine is here, there and everywhere, making it difficult to stick to a regime. 2017 has been difficult for many reasons, starting with a number of devastating family issues (read more about that here as I've finally opened up a little) which means I've been emotionally exhausted and therefore, haven't been able to work out as much as I'd have liked to. Secondly, I somehow injured my leg in December and it took around 10 weeks to get better. Every time I did anything physical it went, again. I'm the girl who never takes a day off and certainly doesn't go a week without exercising so for me, this was torture. Once I got better, I had the worst rib and chest pain for a few weeks, unable to bend over and now, I have a kidney infection. It seems to me like it's one thing after another at the moment and I'm almost certain it's down to this emotional stress, but I refuse to let this stop me from being strong and healthy. I wrote a blog post about how to juggle everything and you know what, it is doable, but trust me, you've got to put your health first. You might be the size you've always dreamt of but if you're not healthy on the inside, does it even count? No, no it does not. Read on...

Little Things That Make Me Feel Confident

kiss the sky top

Body confidence is something I talk about a lot and feeling confident is something I struggled with for a long time. I wouldn't eat infront of anyone, I struggled walking past people in the school corridors, hated walking into lectures alone and more. Today, I've delivered talks to hundreds of students, pitched myself infront of Dragon's Den Style investors and meet new people daily (and enjoy it!!!) I do feel like confidence is something that develops as you grow up and with life experience, but here are few little things I do that really make me feel my best and super confident. There's nothing like happy, confidence boosting endorphins. If you read my recent blog post about why it's important to love yourself first, you'll know I said how important it is to realise that being confident/happy in yourself doesn't mean you are arrogant, it's great to feel confident in our own skin, bodies and minds. Read on!

Why Is It Important To Love Yourself? Never Let Anyone Make You Feel Less Than Amazing

The Hoxton Hotel, Shoreditch / Bralet / hair by Sassoon
I'll forgive you if you clicked on this post and instantly Justin Bieber came to mind 'you should go and love yourself', love or hate Justin, he has a point. Valentines day, is a day you either love, hate or ignore. If you read my recent top date night beauty products post, you'll know I choose to embrace the idea of love. Call it consumerism, call it me falling for marketing strategies, I don't care, give me any excuse to spread a little love and show a little love and I'm there. I genuinely do feel all gooey inside when I see cute Valentines notes and gestures. It's the little things that count and hey, if one day a year we can all be soppy, then so be it. Today though, I wanted to touch on a different topic, actually inspired by one of my best friends, who has no Valentine (total lie, because she has me but anyway, more on that later). It's inspired me to talk about the power and importance of loving yourself and why you should never let anyone make you feel less than 100%. Let's chat.

The Best Date Night Pamper Night Products - Date Night Products

Valentines day gets a lot of hate. I personally don't hate Valentines day, in fact, I'm one of those people (single or taken) who has always loved the day. What's not to love about curling up and eating pizza and chocolate? give me any excuse to celebrate. I don't see it as purely a consumer day (I know a lot of people just think it's a marketing dream and a made up holiday), I see it as a day of love and well, an excuse to eat. Love though, not even just between a couple, but a way to spread a little love everywhere, whether it's to yourself (which is what this post is about) or, to your family, your friends or your partner. Every year I get my Mum a Valentines present, whether it's chocolates or flowers, yup, I am a consumers dream but life is too short to be cynical about every single thing, so I vote love. Share love. Spread love. Be in love (with him/her/yourself). So today, in aid of Valentines day, I want to talk about date night! I wanted to talk through some of my favourite Valentines themed products, my top items to get you date night ready, whether it's for an at home pamper session eating chocolates and pizza, or a girls night out, a night out with your loved one or whatever you fancy, or, just for date nights in general. I hope you love these products, they're some of my favourites! Don't forget to check out my Valentines gift guide too, if you do love Valentines day as much as I do!

A Serious Heart To Heart. Life At The Moment.

In 2016 I wrote ablog post about the importance of giving back, anytime at all, but particularly at Christmas. Giving back isn’t something that has to be done during the festive period alone though, giving back doesn’t just mean giving all your time and money to something either. Giving back can be done by smiling at someone on the street, taking your time out to talk to someone who might just need a little bit of support, or raising awareness for something serious. We all have a voice. I’m approached on a weekly basis by charities and I really wish I could help them all. However, I was once that girl who’d walk past charities in the street because I didn’t have any spare change or the time to talk. That doesn't make me a bad person, I just had other things on my mind and recognise that even if we wanted to, we cannot support every single charity. It’s not until recently, I’ve realised just how much raising awareness and raising money can help in so many ways. My life has changed recently and sadly, may not be the same for a long time. Let's talk.

Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Longwear High Coverage Foundation Review

power fabric foundation Armani's Luminous Silk has been a holy grail product in my make up bag for quite some time now,  actually, one of the foundations I wear on a daily basis. It only felt right then that I jumped at the chance to try Armani's new Power Fabric foundation. When it comes to beauty, I'm an addict, particularly with anything that promises a flawless base. A good foundation is like getting a good hair cut, vital, it's the foundations of your make up. Even though I'm not the biggest Kardashian fan, I am obviously in love with the way Kim Kardahishan's make up looks. It was when researching what make up does Kim Kardashian wear that I discovered Armani's Luminous Silk foundation, Kim's favourite. A celebrity fave and an Em fave (love her or hate her, there's no denying Kim Kardashian has the most flawless make up), this foundation clearly has a lot to live up to. Let's see if it passes my flawless skin test. Here's my full review of Armani Power Fabric Foundation.

Valentines Gift Ideas For Him And Her - What To Do On Valentines Day

valentines gift ideas
Valentines day is just around the corner, and there are definitely lots of different opinions on the day. For me, it's a day I've always loved, single or taken. I just love embracing well, love. I'm probably the soppiest person you will ever meet. I know it's deemed a 'fake holiday' and many people think it's only there to trick consumers into spending money, well call me a fool then because I fall for it every single time and I see no harm in doing so! I think one of my main reasons for loving Valentines day and February in general, is because it feels like Spring is really around the corner. So see this as a little gift guide, to treat yourself (totally guilty of showering myself in gifts during the Valentines day period), your friends (I always make my bestie a little Valentines day hamper), your family or your boyfriend/girlfriend. I guess as well as gifts, there are little gestures you can do to spread a little bit of love! I completely understand, if we love someone we should show them all the time, but Valentines day is a really nice excuse too. Open this up for a Valentines gift guide for him and her, as well as treats for yourself and ideas of what to do this Valentines day too.

Things I Learnt From A Wellbeing Coach

When I was first approached to buy Herbalife products, I had a few initial doubts. I didn't even think about the nutritional values, or the millions of pounds and years of research that gone into the brand, I simply couldn't see past the misconceptions I had of the business. When my brother (who's massively into his health and fitness by the way) told me to stop being silly, and look at their ambassador Cristiano Ronaldo, I realised I should probably do my own research into the brand. Nourishing top athletes worldwide, why wouldn't I try Herbalife? If you've ever read my blog post about the importance of the 80/20 rule and why I do not believe in fad diets, you'll understand me when I talk about how scared I get when I hear about new shakes, new diets and new crazes. Actually, Herbalife are just simple things you can add into your daily diet (great things) to enhance performance, so I decided to give them a shot this month. Let's discuss...

The Best Healthy Snacks

If you've read any of my health and fitness posts (I've done a lot of them recently!) you'll know that I'm obsessed with the 80/20 rule, that means, eating well 80% of the time and allowing myself to stray 20% of the time. It means I don't deprive myself and therefore, don't binge. Snacking, is also important, but, snacking on the right things. If you snack on the right things, you'll stay fuller for longer and it really satisfies your cravings. I get a lot of questions about weight loss (obviously, I'm not an expert) but I do think, living by the 80/20 rule enables me to completely enjoy life, enjoy my food, never deprive myself but also, I feel happy with my body too. A mixture of eating well and working out really does work. A lot of people have asked me to do a video on YouTube (something I'm focusing on this year!) about my favourite snacks, so do not fear, that is coming up! But for now, today, I wanted to talk you through some of my favourite healthy snacks.

Exploring Tower Bridge, London - Date Weekend

tower bridge london

There's nothing I love more than spending a day in London. Recently, I've found myself splitting more and more of my time between Leeds and London. If I'm honest, I'm getting used to living out of a suitcase. Most of the time when I'm in London, I'm in exciting, but back to back meetings (I'm definitely not moaning, but sometimes, it's nice to just spend a day at home!). When Matt headed to visit this weekend for a cute weekend I couldn't resist seeing some of the sights. One of my favourite areas, and areas I rarely explore is Tower Bridge. It was perfect then that I was invited to a little Winter Wonderland with Swiss International Air Lines last weekend. Come join along. I hope you love these images as much as I do.

9 Things I'll Be Doing More Of in 2017 - My New Years Beauty Resolutions

Jumper - online here and cheaper version online here

With January coming to a close (something I'm happy about because hello Spring, I'm ready for your warmth) I thought it would be nice to end with a little look at some beauty resolutions this year. I've been away for most of January so my New Years resolutions have completely slid (New York was basically me living on fries) so today, I want to revisit and refresh my resolutions because hey, it doesn't need to be the 1st of Jan to make resolutions and set goals. Let's do this.

Are Potatoes Healthy? My Favourite Easy Potato Dish - Potatoes More Than A Bit On The Side

healthy potato dish
In my family we have always eaten a balanced diet, you will hear me mention balance a lot and that's because I've been brought up to believe eating anything you like in moderation is okay and sticking to the 80/20 rule. Doing this keeps you satisfied and prevents feeling deprived which is key to sticking to balanced eating. With clean eating being very much in vogue currently some people could be forgiven for thinking that some of the more traditional foods no longer have a place in our diets. In our family, rather than omit traditional food in favour of more fashionable food, we still enjoy traditional staples while incorporating new foods in to our everyday life as they become popular - in other words we get the best of both worlds. New foods bring variety and adventure while the more traditional foods make us feel comfortable and satisfied. I'm hoping most of you have read my blog post about the dangers of clean eating and believe me when I say: carbs are not the enemy and in fact, they give us nutrients and lots of energy.

How To Work Anywhere Effectively - Leman Locke Apartments Review

uk travel blog
I've become pretty good at working remotely. Luckily, my job allows me to work anywhere in the world so I wouldn't really say I have an office, or somewhere I work the most. People keep asking where I'm based and I guess it varies from day to day. Boyfriends bed? Yup, perfect desk. Starbucks? Yup. Airport? Yes. Train table? Daily. I often find myself making use of the office space at my gym, David Lloyd too. It's safe to say, working remotely is my thing. Today I wanted to give some top tips on working anywhere, effectively inspired by a recent stay at Leman Locke Apartments where I was probably my most productive yet! If you read my blog post about how to juggle everything  you'll know that I seem to take a little too much on, which is why I now try to focus on using my time as effectively as possible. Hopefully this will help you with that too!

The Thoughts Of A 20-Something-Year Old 23 - Things I've Learnt By 23

Hello hello! In December (gosh that feels like years ago) I turned 23. It feels really weird to be 23, I kind of wanted to stay 21 forever, but as my Grandad always says, ageing is a good thing, it means you're healthy as you're growing old! I wanted to get this live on my actual birthday but just didn't have the time so today I wanted to do a nice little personal post about 23 things I've learnt to mark my 23rd birthday, albeit very late. I hope anyone can relate to these though.

The Ultimate Guide To Visiting New York City - What To Do And See In New York City

new york street style

Today is the day where I finally put my huge New York city guide live. It seems everyone is planning on visiting New York this year (or at some point) so it's best I get this up now, get it screenshotted, bookmarked and send it to your friends because I'm hoping this is going to be the only New York city guide you need for your trip. I just stepped foot off a plane from a trip from New York (I was lucky enough to visit with Simon Malls, the most incredible malls you've ever seen, I had no idea they had them all over the US either) so it seems fitting to publish this today. I have visited New York four times now, so I feel like now is a good time to write an updated guide, with everything you need to see, do and eat when visiting New York. I lived in Montreal for a year which is only an hours flight from New York so it really does feel like a second home to me. It doesn't matter if you're visiting New York for 2 days or 20, you can definitely fit a lot of stuff into your time in New York and hopefully this comprehensive guide of the best things to see and do when you're in NYC will help you out. Every time I visit a new place I make sure I have as many recommendations as possible, so here they all are, tried and tested in one easy place to make sure you have the best time in New York. I'm so excited. Here's everything you need to know for your trip to New York. Let's do this.

The Most Instagrammable Cities To Travel To And Visit

Recently, I read a blog post by CEWE Photoworld about the top 10 most instagrammed places and it inspired my own blog post about the top Instagrammable travel destinations from the places I’ve travelled to so far. I’ve already done one blog post about my favourite worldwide destinations (so far) so wanted to do an updated one but this time, focusing on the top Instagrammable places! In todays day, many of us like to Instagram things (which is totally fine, this blog post is just a bit of fun, obviously life isn't just about Instagramming and it's always better to see it with your own eyes). I feel fortunate that I’ve visited a lot of insta-worthy places, which you’ll find below and this year? I hope to visit even more, such as Yelloh-Village and the Basque County, Fiji, Australia, Singapore. You name it, I want to tick them all off this year. Let’s see where made the cut so far...Here goes, in no particular order, here are some of my favourite most instagrammable cities to visit!

Top Tips To Feeling Zen, Relaxed And De-Stressed In 2017

If you read my blog post about the highs and lows of 2016, you'll know that this year I plan on taking a little more 'me' time, that means focusing on my wellbeing and you should do that too! We talk about health and fitness but often we forget to discuss wellbeing, one of my main reasons for going to the gym. I love how clear it makes my head feel, it relaxes me and de-stresses me. When I lived in Canada, I did a mixture of hot yoga, barre and pilates 5 times a week, and I've never felt stronger or more content, relaxed and free. Yoga and pilates, just like the gym, make me feel instantly revitalised, strong and give me a clear head. One of my resolutions this year is to do more yoga and it inspired this post. I want to give you some of my top tips to zen this New Year.

How To Get The Longest Lashes; The Best Mascaras For Long, Thick Lashes & How To Grow Long Eye Lashes

the best mascaras
Locke Hotels, Leman Locke / Jumper

For as long as I can remember, long lashes have been my favourite thing. Ever since I was a little girl first trying out make up, I'd always be on the look out for the best eye lash curlers, the best mascaras (trust me, I've tried them all) and figuring out how to get the longest, flutteriest lashes. I blame my Mum, she always says how mascara is her holy grail item and can't be without it. She brought me up well, with a passion and love for mascara and eye products. Today I wanted to share all those years of trying mascaras and give you my top tips on how to get the longest lashes, including my absolute top mascaras. I also wanted to write up a beauty post, I feel like I've got a little behind on my beauty in the last two weeks so see this as an apology from me! Let's do this!

The Arch Hotel London Review & Getting My Teeth Professionally Whitened With Dr Richard Marques

luxury london hotel
Give me a hotel with a TV in the bathtub and I'll never leave. It's no secret that I'm a fan of luxury hotels, so when I stayed at The Arch recently I pretty much wondered if they'd allow me to become a permanent resident. I'm a sucker for a place that makes me feel like a real life princess. Tucked away in a beautiful London townhouse, this quaint little hotel definitely gets thumbs up from me. Matt and I love staying in hotels anywhere in the world, but staycations in London always make us feel especially relaxed, rejuvenated and happy.  Yep, you guessed it, today's post is another date weekend in London with us. You may remember me mentioning my love for The Arch in my recent blog post about the top places to stay in London. I invite you to come feel all princess like with me.
