Carbs get a bad rep. They really shouldn’t, we need carbs for energy. I once tried to give up carbs and it was the worst few days of my life, I had no fuel whatsoever. Life is about balance and carbs are part of a healthy diet, don’t let anyone tell you they’re not! As long as you’re eating the right carbs, you’re fine! I stick to wholewheat pasta and wholewheat rice where possible and I tend to avoid refined sugars, I also don’t eat white bread unless it’s fresh but I live by the 80/20 rule so on weekends, I’ll have some wine, pizza and Pringles because hey, why not. If you deprive yourself, you’ll only binge. Let’s talk about potatoes then, potatoes are completely natural, grown in the ground and you know what they say; if you can pick it or kill it, it’s good to eat (aka, natural things). Potatoes are a source of fibre, potassium and magnesium so they really deserve to be shouted about a little bit more. I love nothing more than a crispy jacket potato filled with protein rich tuna! Today, I wanted to show you one of my favourite potato recipes, showing you that carbs can be enjoyed as part of a healthy balanced diet!

When the opportunity to head back to my favourite destination in the world (so far) arose (you may remember how much I love this place if you've read my blog post about the best places I've visited), I jumped at the chance. As most of you will know if you're subscribed to me on YouTube (pretty please subscribe here, it would mean the world to me!!!), I recently went back to the most beautiful place, a place so magical, I would happily get married there...Halong Bay in beautiful Vietnam. Come join me on the most incredible cruise around one of the natural wonders of the world.

Hello hello. So today, I wanted to write a little post about things that make me feel good, confident and happy, female empowerment I guess. How to make yourself feel good! I've wanted to do a kind of updated empowerment/motivation post for quite some time and after the crazy, overwhelming feedback from my last personal post, how getting cheated on affected me, I kind of wanted to do a little follow up post and just talk about a few things that make me feel good, happy and confident. There are so many things you can do for yourself that will boost your mood and make you feel fabulous, sometimes, it's the little things! So I guess what I'm trying to say is, you need to make more time (even though life is crazy busy) and do something for yourself once in a while, even if it does involve just tucking into that last Easter egg, hey, whatever makes you happy! Let's discuss.

I've always wanted to visit Hong Kong and recently, the opportunity to visit came and I couldn't turn it down. I had no expectations and didn't even really do much Googling before I went, I went with a completely open mind. With barely any plans, I turned up ready to wander around and explore. Come join me in my new favourite place...

Hello hello hello! So you all know just how much I am into my health and fitness, forever trying the new things but always sticking by my life rule; balance. I well and truly believe in balance, that means, eighty percent of the time I will be healthy and clean whilst the other twenty percent, I don't beat myself up for having a pizza (don't forget to read my top health and fitness tips). I don't believe in depriving yourself, if you've read any of my health and fitness posts you'll know that about me! So today, I'm going to be telling you about four new additions to my health cupboard and four new additions which I am loving and using most days. Let's start.

I'm always trying to get the perfect blow dry. My blow dry most definitely looks the best when I walk out of the hair dressers (Sassoon Salon Leeds always give me the best blow dries of my life, I walk out and feel like an absolute queen - you have to book in with Lee if you get the chance, trust me - if I could, I'd get daily blow dries at Sassoon) but recreating that look at home? It aint so easy. Luckily though, this incredible two-some, along with a trusty paddle brush, work hand in hand to help you get the most beautiful and easy blow-dry at home. The best bit? They protect your hair too rather than breaking it. Let's talk about the KMS cheeky little new duo you need in your life...

I love nothing more than a pamper night in. I don't have them often enough. For me, even just spending 10 minutes to myself doing my nails feels like a massive treat so when Champney's gave me all the ingredients for the perfect night in, I couldn't resist. At home, we have a gorgeous, cosy little cinema room brimming with cosy cushions and it is perfect for relaxing in. It's safe to say, I spent the weekend kicking back in there, watching my favourite TV shows and pampering myself. Come join me as I trial two new Champneys products too...

I am in love with so many things at the moment so thought I'd show you a few of the things on my wishlist this month in the hopes that it inspires you too, plus, it gives me a chance to talk you through the new Bobbi collection which is truly what beauty dreams are made of.

After a busy first five days in China working on Matt's exciting project - all to be revealed soon, (read about our first five days in Guangzhou, China here if you missed it), we decided to move across the city for a relaxing and romantic weekend. Naturally, I scoped out the nearest W hotel, as you all know by now, W hotels are my absolute favourites; modern, classy and luxurious. I knew I was in for a treat when we arrived...

you want to come to this amazing city. Leeds gets a bad rep but it's getting a better rep nowadays, it's growing massively in visitors, shops and food. I work between Leeds and London but feel fortunate that I was brought up in this incredible city, I feel like I've watched it evolve and I'm a big believer in the Northern powerhouse - everything is in London so let's celebrate the incredible city of Leeds for once. I feel like I’ve sampled pretty much every restaurant in Leeds as I was brought up there (seriously!!!) so today I’m going to focus more on city centre restaurants here because I feel like they’re the ones that are the most accessible if you’re visiting Leeds. I'm asked on a daily basis where the best places are to eat in Leeds so here are the Leeds restaurants that have made it to the top of my list (in no particular order). Here are the best places to eat and drink in Leeds...

I don't like sharing ridiculously personal details about my life online but recently, this subject has been irking me and I felt the need to write it down. I don't know how this is going to go, so hopefully you can make sense of my rambles. Let's talk personal and thank you if you take the time to read this. It's the first post I've ever written which has filled me with anger and sadness whilst writing so hopefully this works out okay.

Oh hello hello, a long and over-due post from me. I did a little poll on Twitter (@emshelx) to see how you guys wanted me to share my travels and the majority of you said vlogs and blogs so whilst out in Asia, I made it my mission to get a sort of live vlog up every Sunday from each location I'd visited (I hope you've been enjoying them so far!) head here to watch the ones you may have missed. But now, it's time to share more of my time away with you on my blog posts. First up, part 1, China, Guangzhou! I am so excited to be writing these up!!!

Summer is well on its way and as most of you know if you follow me on social media, I’ve been away doing some exciting travels over the past month (all coming to my blog really soon but many are already live on my YouTube!). Admittedly, I’ve fallen off the 80/20 rule ever so slightly whilst on my travels and I’m currently probably more 70/30 with my diet (that means 5 good days and 2 bad days but at the moment and whilst away, I’ve been cheating a little bit more than normal). That’s totally okay though, it’s tough when you’re away! I know I haven’t been nourishing my body enough this last month but now it’s time to get back on it. It’s actually really difficult to nourish yourself properly whilst away particularly when you’re in countries which are completely different to home. I’m definitely looking forward to getting back into my fitness routine and getting back into my health cupboard at home now so I wanted to do this as a post to not only get me back into the mood and on that Summer health kick but also, to inspire you too hopefully!
