The best hair on the market: bonded hair extensions review, beauty works hair review

Hello everyone, so today is the day that I discuss my new hair with you all, yayyy after lots of you have demanded that I discuss it with you! So here goes...

Aahh, so if you follow me on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook then you’ll have probably seen photos of my hair, and I know a lot of you have asked me to write about it (of course I will!). Even if I do say so myself, it is amazing (that's my new hair, on the left!), I’m literally in love with it. I have tried nearly every bit of fake hair on the market, and never been so impressed in my life than I am with these BeautyWorks extensions. Now, as most of you know, I am really trying hard to grow my natural hair, and unfortunately, clip in extensions for me, seem to tug on my roots and according to my hair dresser, aren’t beneficial for my hair growth. So, when I realized that I’d won the Charles Worthington BAFTA reporter competition, and realized that I’d be getting my hair done by Charles Worthington stylists at the Savoy hotel in London, I realized, ooo what a great excuse to get some new hair extensions. I can't walk the red carpet with ugly hair surely? Well, I really did get the best ones I’ve ever had this time, there really is no going back from BeautyWorks hair, who no doubt do the best hair. Trust me, I think i've used every type of hair extensions on the market. I was recommended this by a number of a hair dressers, they all said, make sure you buy BeautyWorks hair. You can buy this from the additional lengths shop, or simply on BeautyWorks online. You really do get what you pay for with hair, I've heard people say that this hair has lasted them a year. My hair is so thick and long but it looks so natural, my friend actually said it feels better than her natural hair. I love it, it's so easy to style as well and most of the time, I wake up with perfect hair now as it just falls perfectly after sleeping on it.

The whole process of bonding these literally only took two hours, as opposed to the four hours that some stylists take, Jenny really is a fabulous hair dresser , she knew exactly what she was doing, and shes been doing hair extensions for over 15 years so is definitely one of the, if not the, best in the business. I've never wanted bonded extensions as I know that they are damaging, but, as long as you take care of them and get them 'pulled up'/redone/get maintenance every 3 months, it isn't damaging as it won't pull on the roots. I was surprised when I slept on these the first night as you really can't feel them at all. Your hair is a huge If not the largest and most important part of your appearance, if your hair looks good, you seem to feel better. I do think its worth spending the extra money, Jenny was explaining the number of people shes seen who this has gone wrong on, because the hair dresser puts the bonds in too tight or too high etc. But after 15 years experience, she knows exactly how to apply these extensions. They will last for 3 months and then need maintenance, according to regular users of beautyworks, the hair lasts up to a year which is incredible, most hair ive used goes matted after two months, which isn’t a good look. I can’t see this hair losing its thickness anytime soon. I know a lot of local hair dressers will apply Beauty Works extensions for you, as long as you supply the hair, just make sure they're good hair dressers so that the bonds don't damage your hair! I 100% would use BeautyWorks and nothing else though, all i've ever heard is amazing reviews of their hair, and even as a company they are such nice people.

If you don’t want to take the leap and get bonded extensions straight away, try BeautyWorks clip ins or a BeautyWorks weft. The clip ins only start at £39.00, and the quality of their hair is easily the best, i've never been so impressed. I am so impressed with this hair and I do think of myself as a bit of a know it all when it comes to extensions, everyone has commented on how thick, healthy and generally good these extensions look. Aah I love BeautyWorks. Hello good hair!

Update 2013 *I have written a hair growth tips post and written about my experience with these after 3/4 months of wearing them you can read that here*

  1. It looks so lush! But I'm confused. I was told that bonded extensions can really damage your natural hair?

    1. Aw thanks, glad you like it. yeah but it depends how they're applied, as long as they're applied by someone really good and maintained then they should be fine xxx

    2. I don't mean to be rude, but reading your blog I wouldn't consider you a hair extension expert at all. You really should know more about the type of bond that has been fitted in your hair, I am under the impression that you think a keratin bond has no glue in it? All bonds have a percentage of glue in them I'm afraid, and can cause incredible amounts of damage ( see Naomi Campbell photos)There are also several different types of keratin bond in various strengths. I assume you do not know what type of keratin bond was attached to your hair? The most important factor you should be considering is the correct weight of strand, the type of bond and hair texture for your hair type. Did anyone tell you the most suitable weight of strand for your hair? Do you know what the weights of the strands are in your hair?If the weight of the strand is too heavy for your hair, then after a while when your hair naturally sheds, the weight of the strand will become too heavy and will pull at your roots and fall out bringing your natural hair with it, this is called traction alopecia. The safest method of attachment is anything that does not involve glue, the most up to date method are nano rings, they are the smallest attachment in the world and require no glue at all.
I also read your blog about your visit to Robert Calvin. Unfortunately, Robert Calvin has not developed any type of hair extension system, cold fusion bonding has been around for years and years, he has purchased an ultrasonic machine from China and placed his logo on it

The most important factor when considering a hair extensionsist/extension salon is knowledge, experience, honesty and recomendations, not a fancy salon, expensive website or fancy packaging.

Again, without being rude, the hair extensions you have had fitted in the pics above, the bond looks very long, a good extensionist fits a bond of approximately 7mm, all at the same level from the scalp, yours look a bit all over the place. I would also recommend a better blend of colour as they are quite yellow in comparison to your natural hair colour

None of this is meant to offend but to educate you further on hair extensions and the process

    3. I really do agree with this post it hurts my little hairs looking at yours caked in glue! I'd recommend you try micro links as they have no glue involved and are defiantly better for your hair. Also the extensions there using are yellow in comparison to your own hair? I've had been wearing extensions since I was around 14 and I'm now 21. I've purchased beauty works wefts before and they were the worst extensions I've ever put in my head within a week they were tangled and matted! It may have been a bad batch but I've never bought from them again. I'm used to cuticle hair or virgin hair so the hair I recived from here was a complete shock!

  10. I absolutely agree if your hair looks good then you do feel better! I recently had my hair cut (as it was damaged by bleach) and the cut doesn't suit me sadly. I was thinking of having extensions so Im glad I came across your blog post.

  25. I'd say sleek's remy hair is comparable in quality, celebrity elite is also just as good, and a teeny bit less in price. Beauty works is lovely hair, but a lot of their selling power comes from having a shiny website and clever marketing.

Though I'm still not convienced on bonded extensions (I've had some racoon hair extensions in the past) and turned to clip ins for odd useage.. I may have to google Beautyworks and have a nosey. :)

  29. When you have made up your mind to acquire 100 human hair weave extensions, it is necessary that you can make following troubles into mind to help make certain they just don't cause you to unhappy. You should consider the fee. Usually, the charge lies on the type of hair extensions which you choose including the man made along with human hair extensions.
