Easy Valentines Day Gift Buying Guide

Hello everyone, now if you read my last post about Tom from McFly's romantic proposal, you'll have seen my little introduction to my thoughts on Valentines Day. Don't worry if you missed it, you can read it here... But basically, I said that I love Valentines day, single or not. I just like the idea of the day (even thought most people think it's a bit of a con) I do think it's a cute way to show your appreciation towards your loved ones, whether thats your urm cat, your Mum, your siblings or your actual boyfriend/girlfriend. I just like the fact that it's a day full of love, even if you spend it with your friends. I am also a bit of a romantic, well, a lot, and I blame Disney and Romantic films for making me be such a geeky romantic stereotypical girl. But, I suppose everyone has an idealised idea of romance because of the media, films and more (particularly us girls). So, because even if you hate Valentines day, it is just around the corner, I thought i'd make it simple for you all and make my own Valentines Day gift guide, whilst also making me slightly depressed that 1. I have no one to buy for this year (I do prefer giving to receiving gifts) and 2. I have no one to celebrate to day with/get gifts from. BUT, you can always refer to this gift guide and treat yourself - I don't want anyone to be unhappy on Valentines day! Now, Vday isn't just about gifts, of course, for me, I like the whole 'lets watch a film on Vday' or go to the cinema, or go and get wined and dined. Yeah here we go again, me and my silly love for anything to do with romance. I am so easily pleased though when it comes to love. I'm babbling on now, so below I will talk you through my gift guide.

Urban Decay NAKED BASICS palette review

Yipeeee, hello everyone! Sooo, the other day I got the Naked Basics palette from Urban Decay! Now, i'm not even good at applying eye shadow but I've kind of taught myself after watching my Kim Kardashian YouTube video over and over again and watching how the make up artist applied the make up to my eyes. This palette is perfect for someone like me, who wants to have my eye make up done but I'm not good enough at applying it myself or very daring when it comes to colours. The colours in this palette are perfect for anyone and like their naked palettes usually are, you get such a good mixture of colours.  I started by applying the colour Foxy all over the lid and then I put the colour Crave on the outer edges of the eye and blended it in. I then used Venus right on the inner edge of my eye as i've read that a light colour near the tear duct really widens the eyes and gives you a bushy wide awake look.

Dior Forever Flawless Perfection Foundation Review VS Chanel Perfection Lumiere Review

Hey lovelies, so today I'm doing a review of two new foundations. I've worn MAC cosmetics for as long I can remember and I kind of got to the stage where it just begun to feel ugly on my face and it was easily too dark for me. I've used all of their foundations and I've just completely gone off them all so I decided i'd try some super-high end foundations just to see if there is a difference. I do think that foundation is really important when it comes to make up application, after all, it is the base and it's what everyone sees. I've always thought that having a foundation with a high SPF is really important because I was once told that every day environmental factors such as petrol, fumes in the air and the suns harmful UV rays, are really bad for the skin. I've also read so many times about how bad the sun is for your skin in winter, because it's lower. That's why it's apparently so important to have an added SPF in your foundation. I think most foundations have SPF (sun protection) in them now which is good.

Nivea's new Stress Protect Deodorant reviewed in a Stressful Situation!

Hello everyone, so this is a bit of a random post when it comes to the stuff that I usually write about, but I suppose it counts as a beauty post because it's basically a review of Nivea's new deodorant. However, there's a twist. I was asked very nicely to participate in this fun blog post to test Nivea's new deodorant. So what makes this deodorant different to all the others on the market and what has baking got to do with a beauty review? Nivea's new deodorant is called Stress Protect and here's what Nivea say about it: 'After heat, stress is the 2nd most common trigger for sweating and is very different to the sweat produced from heat or physical exercise. It has a more rapid onset and smells much worse, making it harder to control. NIVEA Stress Protect is proven to minimise this stress sweat by up to 85%** and helps reduce the formation of body odour.' Obviously, I was wondering what makes this happen? They explain that 'the deodorant contains a unique formula which combines two ingredients – Stress Protect Actives and a Zinc Complex – which work together to help provide protection in stressful situations. And added Avocado Oil also helps to care for and moisturise underarm skin.' Interesting right? After reading all of this I was so excited to try the deodorant because after all, deodorant is an essential item for everyone, there's no escaping it. The one catch? To try it out, I was requested to wear it in a stressful situation to test out how well it worked.
So, what was this stressful situation?

Charles Worthington Red Carpet Blogger Competition at the BAFTA's

Hello everyone. Sooo I'm really excited to be writing this post, anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely love anything glitz and glam, or anything fashion, beauty and hair related and this little beauty covers them all. That's why, when I saw that one of my favourite hair brands, Mr Charles Worthington, was hosting a competition for one lucky blogger to win the chance to blog from the Red Carpet at the BAFTA's  (yep, the BAFTA's) oh my god. I could not resist entering. The brief was simple; 'To enter, tweet us @CWHairLondon, the link to a blog post, or a YouTube video you have created, letting us know why you want to be our Charles Worthington red-carpet blogger!' But me being me, I decided to create my own red carpet themed video, please watch my entry below:

Kim Kardashian Eye Makeup and Contouring tutorial

Hey everyone.. so I decided to really focus on my YouTube channel as a resolution for 2013. It takes me ages to do one video as you'll appreciate because there's the filming and then the editing, and obviously I want to make them all incredible for you. So far I've done one high quality VLOG and now, I'm really pleased to introduce you to my first ever make up tutorial. Now, so many people have asked me to do make up tutorials and I decided I'd do a Kim Kardashian one because erm, I am slightly obsessed with her make up routine, I've researched it far too many times and I've written numerous blog posts about how to get Kim Kardashian's make up look/how to do your make up like Kim Kardashian.

Who Said Romance is Dead? Tom Mcfly Wedding Speech Valentines inspiration.

Ahh hello everyone, so I guess this is a bit off topic for my blog, as it's not strictly beauty or fashion, but it is very lifestyle so maybe it isn't so off topic. But I'm guessing most of my readers are females, and most of us want a nice Valentines day right? And, even if you are a male reader, I wonder what your views are on Valentines day? Well, this year is going to be my first single Valentine's day, ever. *Gulps*. Quite a scary prospect, but I'm not entirely sure why,  I think it's just because I love the idea of a Disney type romance - something which  is never going to happen to most of us, but I suppose films mislead us into thinking this. Now, i'm beginning to sound like a V-day scrooge, which I assure you, i'm not. I think it's possibly the most depressing thing ever, doing nothing on Valentines day, as I do think Valentine's day is one of my favourite days of the year. People laugh at me when I say this, but i just love how 'love' is all around on Valentines day. Now, steady on Em, I know we've only just got to January but after watching Tom from Mcfly's wedding speech last night I felt compelled to start a count down to the most romantic day of the year, as today, Valentine's day is only a month away. Tom made me realise that romance isn't dead at all. This made me realise that I should share this video with you and share some loving. Now, V-day is a month away today and not that I have anything to celebrate, but i'm sure little dateless me will be able to do something cute with a friend or my Mum instead. After all, in some Latin American countries Valentine's Day is known as "Día del Amor y la Amistad" (Day of Love and Friendship). Now, if you're wondering what Tom from Mcfly's wedding speech video is, and why it's spurred all of this soppy talk on, watch it below to get in the mood... (warning, you may cry - quite a lot).

DuWop Lip Venom Review - Lip Plumper Lip Gloss

Hello loveliessss , Aahhh so if you read my blog regularly and have had a nosey at my various wishlists, you'll have probably noticed that DuWop's lip venom has been high on it for some time now. The only reason that I haven't ever treated myself is because it's really expensive and i've never seen it sold in a shop (boo, if anyone knows where sells it on the high street, please let me know!) , I find it easier to spend money in store than online and I never really buy cosmetics online. But, lucky me, when I found this in my stocking on Christmas morning. I actually screamed, I was so shocked, my Mum said 'I read your wish lists as well you know!' It turns out, she wanted to treat me to it because she'd read about it on my blog before. Aahh! She ordered it from Amazon and i'm not sure how much she paid but i think it's only around £7.50 for the little trio that I got - I think they sell this trio at NEXT as well. I first heard about this product when reading one of Katie Prices books, now whilst I don't really like her, I've always liked her lips (before she plumped them so much with surgery) and she swears by using this. I've always wanted plump lips but without having to actually get them surgically plumped up, so is this the answer?

GLAMGLOW Super-Mud Clearing Treatment Review

Ahhh hello everyone, I am so so sorry for the delay, if you follow me on Twitter you'll be aware that i've had exams and the revision for them completely took over my life (hence all my moaney tweets, sorry haha) but I am back now, for good and, I get Thursdays off Uni so finally have some free time, which means all my time will be dedicated to my blog. Hooray. So, as you'll have probably guessed, I have some incredible new products to talk to you about from over the Christmas period and I thought  why not start with a new personal favourite of mine, from one of my favourite brands, GLAMGLOW. Now, if you haven't heard of GLAMGLOW before, you can read about their general mud mask on my other blog post by clicking here. If you have read my previous review, you'll know that I swear by their 'facial in a jar', even though, i'm not really a person who uses face masks, GLAMGLOW has made me change that and this is why, I got beyond excited when I found out that they've brought a new product out, I'd like to introduce you to their new Super-Mud Clearing Treatment.

My 2012 and New Years Resolutions

Hello everyone, so this is just a quick little lifestyle type post to recap on 2012 as a year for me.

I have to say, after having a major clear out of my Facebook 'friends' and really just focusing on my true friends, 2012 was a much better year for me. You really can count your true friends on one hand. After some tragic happenings towards the end of 2011, it really highlighted to me that in 2012, family will come first and that life really is too short, so make the most of it and make something of yourself. You're never too young to try out new things, just go for it, you never know where it could take you. Family will always be there. It was only in February 2012, that I decided to start this blog, this is 100% the best thing that came out of 2012. Who knows what the future holds.
